Chapter 40

Edward, Jane and Hannah had eaten breakfast in silence and then they had headed for the cottage which would be the site of their summoning. They set off in spring sunshine for the walk to the outskirts of the village on the coast. The spell would not take long to cast so they had not taken anything with them on this trip. When they returned the next day, they would have to be better prepared.

The summoning itself was rather underwhelming. The person who could see the dark, the believer and the escapee stood in the lounge once they had broken into the cottage. The door to the house had yielded easily. They all had a photocopy of the page from Demons and Fairies in their hands. They faced each other and then read the incantation out loud.
