Get the chess piece

After a long night of reciting the marvel literature Logan turned in to get some sleep for the hunt tomorrow. Funny thing is each story he told got him a new listener, when he spoke about captain America Pyrrha joined in so she could isten about how his shield worked and his tactics, when he spoke about Thor and the lessons he learned Jaune grew interested because he felt like they connected, when it was iron man Weiss went silent and thought about how her father was operating and how maybe something like that could change him.

When he spoke about hulk naturally Nora and yang were static, so she spoke about she hulk as well. Next up he spoke about black panther and the xmen which Blake seemed to respond to nicely. Finally he spoke about Spider-Man who rwby seemed to love because of his snarky mannerisms and tech designs. He was thinking about speaking about dead pool but decided to drop that in case the rwby cast got any more ideas.

After a few hours everyone fell asleep and Logan finished installing his own software into the system so ozpin couldn't spy on him. He found that ozpin had plans for each of the chess pieces the students would pick. Ruby would get the knight, Cardin the bishop and Jaune the Rook. Some other students would receive the pawns as he deemed them less important as the other three which made sense considering some of the members backgrounds.

So that left a queen piece for them as ozpin never releases the king piece. He feels it's a bad omen or something along those lines. Anyway as soon as everyone was up they got a small breakfast with a lot of oats for energy. Then public showers which were segregated by gender which seemed to annoy some of the males. Logan and giyu could careless though.

The showers weren't that good an experience as some of the jock types *cough* Cardin, had wandering eyes. Naturally after seeing other dudes naked he develop abit of a complex which was why he locked into Jaune as the duo found out. Some of those fanfics weren't to far of the mark. Naturally the boys could feel some stares on them as they bathed but they weren't drawn towards their lower body and more towards their muscles and scars.

Beacon is known for their competitive nature so checking someone's form out could reveal how strong they are. Muscle definition and posture can reveal how good a fighter some people are which is true in Logan's experience. So a demon slayer and a martial artist like them scream out danger signs.

They left and got dressed quickly, Alice dressed in a Hinata shippuden like outfit as the colours suited her while giyu and Mogana wore their demon slayer outfits as they are designed for combat. Logan wore black nike jogging bottoms and runners, a grey skin tight T-shirt that cling to his body and his self repairing tiger hoodie that he got as a reward. Mogana and giyu got some raised eyebrows because of the shared uniform but the unique haori drew them apart.

Mogana has a dark oranger haori with a sound wave pattern on it in dark blue. Both had their Katana at their hip. Alice's weapon is collapsible as is Logan's so they wore theirs on their lower back. They lined up with the others as ozpin gave another speech.

"Some of you may have heard about the teammates system. This is true but allow us to clarify. Each of you will be given teammates, they being the first person you meet when you arrive. Your objective is to make your way to the centre of the forest and claim one of the chess relics which will allow you to form a full team at a later date. I would have preferred to use an uno deck but was met with opposition" ozpin explained while staring at glynda.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at beacon. It is in your best interests to pair with someone whom you can work well. Their will be obstacles along your way to the north side of the forest, do not hesitate to destroy them or you will die." He spoke grimmly.

Glynda continued "you will be monitored and graded but will receive no help from the faculty. Retrieve the chess piece, guard it well as you make your way up the cliff. Any questions?" Jaune tried to ask but ozpin cut him off "good assume you're stances and prepare for take off".

"Ttttt-take off?" Jaune spoke hesitantly as one by one his classmates were sprung off the cliff. First from our group to land was Mogana who used her sound wall ability to make platforms to slow her decent to the ground. It was simple and effective.

Giyu used a similar landing strategy to ren as he used his blade to carve around the curvature of a big tree to offset his momentum and then executing a break fall roll before patting himself down.

Logan curled himself into a ball before activating his tonfa and firing them downwards propelling himself in a similar method to yang while cheering "woooooo!!!!" Like hiccup from httyd. He landed easily and took off into a mild jog to find his teammates. Ozpin made it easy for the teams to assemble as he adjusted the angles of the launchpad so they would be propelled into a general area.

Logan looked up as he heard the whistle of an arrow fly above him. Pyrrha has thrown her spear to catch Jaune who was screaming and attracting Grimm so Logan changed his path slightly. He heard the sound of cracking and saw Alice descending towards him using her semblance.

Since they'd arrived in this world Alice had been abusing her new found powers the most while the others studied abit. She tried to model her frost abilities similar to several characters however she met with a problem. She lacked the aura to mimic them. The ice users she started with trying to copy were todoroki shouto, Esdeath, Ur, Gray full Buster, Lyone Vastia, Aokiji, and Haku. All of which were masters and had a lot of fire power from their ice which she cousins copy yet.

So Logan instructed her to copy Ur with her her ice make but start with small things like knives and needles which would be useful for her cooking. She liked this idea so started there with shape manipulation before reducing the temperature. Next he had her mimic frozone from the incredibles as he blasts ice from his palms like she did originally before learning to produce it from any part of her body. Lastly aokiji and Esdeath who she can mimic in quality but not quantity.

Obviously she couldn't freeze time or turn to ice.....yet. But she can freeze a lake by expending all her aura. Logan watched as she made a frozen path and slid down it like frozone, inspecting closely she made the bath from leaves that were kicked into the wind by the students. She froze them to make a foothold and started from their.

Alice has also produce skates on her feet as she had a hoby for skating and skiing when she was younger. "Hey Logan~ catch me~" she said before cutely hopping off and landed into his arms. She snuggled in and commented so warm while he rolled his eyes. In his head he was thinking about teaching Pyrrha iron sand manipulation and then fighting like gaara by covering her skin in it. Now that he thinks about it covering the body in weighted iron sand would make for great training so he'll ask her about it later.

The duo made their way towards the north section fo the forest before they heard the sound of metal clashing so they broke into a quick sprint. They found giyu and Mogana already paired and taking on a small pack of Beringels. Strange they shouldn't be in this forest but they assumed it was for the test.

Giyu made quick work of them by using his water style flowing dance and striking tides to make quick work of them. Mogana was using her sound magic to vibrate her sword and use water style ripple thrust and waterfall basin to slice and dice each one individually as she passed them quickly.

It reminded him of that anime where the mc had two extra souls to draw memories from. One of them had fought an army and used the strategy of fighting 1000 1v1 battles quickly rather than a lengthy 100v1 battle. After a few minutes they finished up and headed towards the relic together.

As they approached team rwby and jnpr to claim their piece they heard several roars. One giant nevermore cane from above, one giant beringel that was covered in more bone armour making it resemble a silver back emerge red from the forest and a giant death stalker burrowed it's way out from the ground and flared towards Jaune. The three teams would soon have to face three oversized Grimm.

Logan smirked and aimed his tonfa at the gorilla and opened fire placing a high powered round in its knee and left eye socket making it howl and lock on to him. He then shouted "ruby you and the girls take the bird, Jaune take the bug and we'll take the ape".

They then split up and headed their separate ways with the group chat members leading the beringel towards the forest rather than the cliff.
