Chapter 72: Attack of the Droids

Atalanta and Aiden were heading towards the main city to help fight off the swarming droids while the Shining Knights get to help them, during that time Arthur and Dorothy were watching the news and have stumbled upon the report.

"This is live in the main city, Heroes from mixed squads have arrived dealing with the hundreds of droids attacking the city, nobody knows where they come from and why they're attacking us but for all we know this could be an invasio---!."

"Main city? isn't that close to here?."

"Indeed it is."

Someone knocks on their door three times as Saya was the one who opened it, revealing it to be Carla, in her school uniform, she hasn't changed yet even though classes are over.

"I'm sorry my King but you can't go out there."

"Carla? what brings you here?."

"With all due respect my king, you don't have to go out there let the heroes deal with that out there."

"I just can't sit here and do nothing knowing I can help them."

A loud siren was wailing, it was the School dorm's alarms, the students were running towards the fire exit to escape.

There were some students who were still on their pajamas and some on their school uniforms the same as Carla, Grey and Cassidy stops by and asks,

"Why are you still here?."

"What's going on Grey?."

"You've seen the news right? those droids are heading towards here."

"A-And Sir. Charles told us to evacuate to the School gym."

Dorothy gave Cassidy a tight hug and shortly after she ruffles her hair and says,

"It's good to see you okay Cassidy."

"The others are already at the gy--!."

Grey turns around and notices someone calling them from the distance of the crowd, "Arthur!!." "Greyy!!!." "Dorothyyyy!!!." "Wait for me!!." As the person calling for them finally caught up to them, it was Patrisha who was stuck when the students were rushing in.

Arthur and Dorothy both grab Patrisha and everyone went inside Arthur and Dorothy's room to let the stampeding students pass through.

"Are you okay Patrisha?." Dorothy asked.

"Yeah I'm fine, I was separated with the others but I know they made it to the gym."

She was clearly exhausted, Dorothy signaled Arthur to get a glass of water with her eyes, as he went to get her a glass of water while Dorothy was patting her back gently.

"How's everyone else Patrisha?."

"They're fine Grey.. and why are you still here? you're supposed to be in the gym with our classmates."

"EEEKKK!! I can totally imagine Sir. Charles's face knowing I myself, the Pres of the room isn't there with the class."

Cassidy was wearing a jacket but her hands weren't out of the sleeves, she placed both sleeves on her face and says,

"W-W-What are we going to do?."

"All we need to do is wait for the rest of the students to get to the gym *Here you go Patrisha* I mean we can't get anywhere with everyone pushing and shoving each other right?."

Anna was clinging to Dorothy's back while Saya was looking at the window and saw what looks to be multiple droids walking towards the back entrance.

"Question. are the back doors locked?."

"No. wh--!."

Arthur understood what Saya was implying, the droids were getting near the back door, their clanking footsteps grow louder as they get closer to the door.

Everyone went towards the window to see the droids and they could see many of them, tens?, or hundreds? or even more the droids kept on coming until they noticed a red lollipop falling from the rooftop.

Everyone: Huh?

"AAAAAAA!!! THEY MADE ME DROP MY LOLLIPOP MIKOOO!!!!."

"I mean it's not my fault is i--!! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Okay I'll buy you a new one."

"That it! I'm furious!!."

As a woman with red fiery wings dives down on the droid that's about to turn the knob and open the door.

the droids in the area were all thrown away from the impact of the woman with red fiery wings, as they stood up their heads were all blown off from a person using spells from the rooftop.

"Arthur, was that?."

"I mean, I can't mistake a girl who loves lollipops.. so I'm pretty sure that's Jazymn Matou from the Student Council."

Everyone: J-Jazmyn Matou!?!?!

"This means I'm witnessing one of the Treasurers in the Student Council."

Grey was so excited seeing Jazmyn for the first time, they've heard about them but never saw them once.

"I mean she was talking to someone when she was still at the roof right Arthur?."

"Yeah probably her brother."

The droids that were still far were slowly approaching Jazmyn while Miko was dealing with the ones that were far She would have to deal with the ones which are close to her.

"You'll pay for letting me drop my lollipop you hunks of metal!!!."

She used her fiery wings to stab the metal droids, burning right through their chests and throwing them around the area, it was like she was rampaging, all for a fallen lollipop.

"I heard she loved Lollipops but I didn't expect she'd go crazy about it falling to the ground."

Seeing the Blazing Treasurer go crazy from below Arthur notices the quiet in the hallways and says,

"Guys, looks like everyone's gone let's go!!."

As soon as they got out Arthur and Grey peek from the door to the left and right to see if it's all clear, Arthur squinted his eyes at the far corner to the left while Grey squinted his eyes to the right.

"All---."

"Clear."

But even with their peeking the rest were already out and were simply waiting on the both of them.

"You guys are no fun."

"You guys are n-- eekk!!."

Dorothy was mad at Arthur right now as to why he would do that when they were in a hurry to head to the Gym.

Shortly after they were all running towards the gym, although they still got a lot of running to do since they still need to leave the dorms and enter the school building to get to the gym.

As they were running desperately for safety, earthquakes were occurring from time to time,

"These aren't normal earthquakes right?."

"I think so yes."

It felt like aftershocks from a battle, or the world getting hiccups but either way they still continued on running.

Meanwhile at the Gym all the student were afraid and terrified the Teachers were at their respective places with their classes and as for Class L1..

Sir. Charles was on the brink of erupting as they're still missing a few students,

[I WONDER..... WHERE....COULD.....THEY....BE.]

"I heard you still had missing students Sir?."

"Yeah basically seven of them yes."

"I see, Abigail we're heading back to the Dorms assign Damian and Drake to keep watch for now."

"Yes President."

As the front row of Class L1 heard the woman's voice say "President" they were then shocked to see for the first time, the President of the Student Council, a young teenager, which led to the front row to gossip about it and draw attention from the back row too.

Alex sighs and places his hand on his face as Abigail covers her mouth in an oopsie kind of way.

"I'm sorry President."

"It's fine, we can't avoid it I mean this whole event itself was a key moment for us to show our appearance to our underclassmen and batch."

The Student Council wasn't wearing their badges on their right sleeves which the other students in the gym thought they were just students but the Teachers already know who they were and just continued to pretend they were to not blow their cover.

Damian and Drake shot a thumbs up towards them at the gym entrance and Alex said before tucking his polo.

"Alright Vice President let's get going!."

"Yes President."

They ran back towards the School Dorms as they were gonna rescue anyone who hasn't gotten to the gym yet.

Meanwhile as Arthur and the rest got out of the School dorms only to be greeted by many droids outside,

"What do we do now?."

"The Treasurers are at the back they can't hear us from this distance."

"Then we fight our way out!."

Arthur and Cassidy readied their swords while Dorothy casts an explosion spell, it was a huge explosion spell that almost anyone could see it from a distance,

"Miko! saw that?."

"Yeah an explosion at the side of the dorm, do you think there were still students that didn't got out?."

"I'll check it ou--!."

At the last second she dodged a glass shard being thrown at her, she couldn't see who threw it but it had to be super strong and fast if it could throw something so quietly and for Jazmyn to barely notice it.

The metal clanking was starting to get louder.. it wasn't one droid but a hundred at least heading towards her.

"Looks like they won't let us leave brother."

She turned around and saw Miko blasting fireballs behind him which means that droids have found out where Miko was all along.

"This is getting a little bit harder by the minute."

Jazmyn plunged into the swarms of droids and transformed her wings into blades that were sticking out her back, from left to right she sliced the incoming droids while blocking the thrown debris by some of the droids hidden in some places.

Miko was doing his best to destroy the droids that were with him at the rooftop, he casts multiple spells and managed to destroy all of them as he was still curious as to why he keeps on hearing metal clanking sounds coming towards here even though he already pulverized the droids on top, he leans on the other side and sees a ton of droids slowly climbing up towards him.

"Oh boy, this is not good."

Meanwhile from across the city a bunch of droids were entering the convenience store when all of a sudden a droid comes out flying to the open, the other droids react to it and stared at the convenience store.

"Alright Girls, time to throw out the trash!."

Multiple pigtailed girls came outside the store and started attacking the droids in the area, one blasted a droids head and stabbed another at the same time, one clone hugged the droid until it broke apart.

"For a bunch of metal hunks these are pretty weak."

"Don't underestimate machines Liz, they might look weak but they rely on numbers and those numbers learn and adapt once they encounter something hard."

And to prove her point one clone was stabbed by metal pole in the eye and the clone dispersed shortly after.

"I see your point doctor, Girls watch out these things know how to fight!."

The other clones were doing their best to fight off the droids in the area Liz notices one droid heading towards her as she was about to grab her pistol and move backwards she tripped and said,

"Crap! I messed up."

The droid was infront of her ready to stab her with a shard of glass until it was shot in the head by Doctor. Sara the droid went flying and hit a droid, saving a clone that was about to torn apart by two droids the clone hurled herself unto the droid and stabbed multiple times and escaped.

"Thanks Doctor, I owe you one."

"It's fine Liz we just need to survive this."

as a swarm of droids were approaching them Liz summons more clones to help them deal with the incoming droids.

Meanwhile Arthur and Cassidy were switching places as they were slicing up droids, Arthur sliced one and Cassidy heads to the front to slice another while Arthur does the same thing and heads to Cassidy's front.

Gray fired multiple arrows destroying the droid's head from left to right, Patrisha was mincing up droids with her blades while Dorothy and Carla were fighting side by side Dorothy leaned on Carla's back and the two exchanged places to fire off the droids heading towards them.

Saya was protecting Anna from the middle ground, hugging the scared girl tightly, gritting her teeth for unable to do anything from there and she noticed Anna was crying from the fear.

"Shhh there. there everything's gonna be alright, look you Father and Mother are doing their best to protect you see."

Saya tried to calm her down but..

"Crap! Saya look out!!."

A droid that escaped Patrisha's grasp plunged itself towards Saya, as she clicks her tongue and reveals her scythe she slices up the droid behind them as silently as ever to not let Anna know.

"This is getting us nowhere!."

"Arthur!."

half a droid was holding Cassidy's leg and wasn't letting go the reason why she couldn't just cut off the arm is just because her sword was still in lock with another droid's arm.

Arthur rushed towards her and cut up the droid grabbing her leg while free from the coldness of the droid's hands she sliced up the current droid she was in lock with.

"We really need to do something about this."

"We can't deal with this forever."

more droids were coming and coming, there was no end to them no matter how many Arthur and the rest destroy more would just show up and fill up the droids they destroyed or even add more.

"Arthur what should we do?."

"Keep fighting! we'll figure a way out of this I swear."

They continue their endless battle for survival, Jazmyn was getting exhausted the light coming from her fiery wings were starting to look dim but it was still able to slice up a droid or two but she was starting to loose stamina while a hundred more droids were still heading towards her.

Miko was hesitating to use a grand spell, he could summon a tsunami at a specific place his wand is pointing too, only he could cancel or stop the spell once it serves its purpose but the cost would be he would loose all of his mana for a long period of time so right now all he's doing is blasting off the droids that are getting close to the top one by one.

Arthur sliced three droids with one swing and backed away, It was getting nowhere, they were surrounded by the minute Arthur backed away.

Saya was already on the guard with her scythe while Anna was ducking on the ground, covering her head and holding her cries for help.

The rest were still going good it was Anna's tears Arthur was worried about, he wanted to make her stop crying and to tell her that everything's gonna be fine, but if he tried to move away at that spot droids could enter the perimeter causing more problems for them.

"Just keep going Ackerman!."

Everyone react to the voice coming from the rooftop as he was against the moonlight making it hard for them to see clearly who it is.

Multiple ribbons appeared and stabbed the droids that are close to Arthur and the others and formed a barrier made out of ribbons.

The person from the top dived into the massive swarm of droids and at the next second.

"Mr. Ackerman, Ms. Ritsu, Everyone I'm going to close the barrier now It's gonna be dark now."

a huge explosion occurred, but it wasn't light emitting from the explosion, it was a dark shadowy version of the light they couldn't get a clear view of everything that happened by the time the barrier closed on them.
