Chapter 60: Trust and Intentions

Tazer and Annie were in front of the 2nd as she was drinking a cup of water and was about to discuss the second round to them, she asked while putting down her cup,

2nd: Both of you have fully rested?

Tazer: Yes

2nd: Stop saying things like you're in charge of your partner, are you ready to go, Annie?

Annie: Yes

The 2nd could see their determination to start and finish the second round with everything they have so she says,

"Alright, the second round is simple you need to cross that bridge over there!."

They both turned their heads to where the 2nd was pointing, and see nothing,

Annie: There's nothing there.

Tazer: Don't fool with us woman!?

She snaps her fingers and a bridge magically appears on top of the forests, the forests was covered with a fog, if they were already on top they wouldn't see what's below them because of both the fog and the leaves joining together.

"Back and forth, you need to walk that bridge back and forth, if you two manage to make it back alive I'll give you the grail and you can enter the third floor, although I have to warn you, no one has even crossed that bridge yet."

Tazer: But I know a couple of villains who escaped the tower and became good, so how did they crossed that?

2nd: You see in every batch we change our rounds, or our way of doing things otherwise when the info gets leaked, future villains that might end up here would easily get out don't ya think?

Tazer: Tchh I see your point.

2nd: [He doesn't act like this when he's talking with the girl] *claps* Is it too much for you Annie?

Annie: N-No

A few minutes later they were at the bridge and Annie regretted her reply as she was blindfolded.

Tazer: Curse that woman just telling us this now!

Annie: I-I-It's o-okay! w-we can d-do this!.

She was trembling with fear, and Tazer felt the same thing as the bridge looked like it was going to break any second they try to cross it.

what the 2nd told them was...

*Flashback*

"Oh yeah to make it even more interesting, both of you need to be blindfolded and one of you needs to guide the other upon crossing the bridge back and forth."

Annie: What?

2nd: For example Tazer is blindfolded from crossing the bridge, obviously he can't walk towards that bridge all by himself --!

Tazer: You challenging me?

2nd: So you need to guide him to the other side, while going back you need to be the one blindfolded and then Tazer would be the one to guide you, a simple exchange of trust your buddy.

Annie: [Is that what other people call it?]

*End of flashback*

Annie chose to be the first to be blindfolded while Tazer would be the one to guide her, she asks,

Annie: How tall are we?

Tazer: It's best to not know [Also because I don't really know]

Things were going smoothly, although some creaks would be heard from stepping on the wooden planks, some were rotting, some were still strong, some were missing, Annie had to go first while holding Tazer's prosthetic right arm while leading.

She slowly walks and steps on the planks to see if they're safe to walk on, while some from contact would break and fall to the ground, she gulped in fear as she was guiding a life besides hers to the other side of the bridge safely.

Sure he would do the same going back, but right now with her experiencing this for the first time, she felt like she was going to die and collapse sooner or later.

The bridge was shaking, she held on tight on the sides while holding Tazer's right arm, it was still shaking while Tazer was about to vomit,

Annie: Don't you dare!

She used her powers to see if someone's messing with the bridge using her radar, she could see hers and Tazers while two other dots on the other side of the bridge. Confirmed to see multiple people on the other side made her sigh of relief but made her panic even more because those people are the ones shaking the bridge around.

The Shaking stopped, she checked with her power once again and could see only her and Tazer's heat, they continued on towards the other side.

Tazer: Is it safe now? don't see anyone up ahead? down below or behind us?

Annie: No, we're fine.

They take each step carefully as the planks would creak, breezes would often pass by and shake the bridge a little and giving them both a chill down towards their spines.

They managed to get to the other side safely, Annie was exhausted and relieved to made it to the other side, and now it was her turn to be blindfolded while Tazer would be the one to guide her going back.

She puts on the blindfolds and Tazer ties it tightly, Annie who was nervous not from crossing but the fact when he was tying up the blindfold she was trembling but decided not to tell Tazer about it.

Tazer: Is that okay?

She nods with agreement, Tazer could notice her clenched fists groping on the soil, He takes her hand and says,

"Don't worry Annie, I'll get us out of here."

Upon hearing this she couldn't contain herself and let out a smile and decided to go with it but she was still doubting Tazer.

Even with everything he has told her ever since they first met, she still can't seem to put some trust on him, even if he told her his backstory as a kid, she was afraid of being betrayed again.

They start crossing the bridge, Tazer takes each step with caution as the breeze of wind passes by and the planks creaking Tazer was in a tough spot for he has never done anything like this before.

He slowly taps the planks to see if they're safe, *tap* *tap* knowing it was safe he took the step while slowly pulling Annie's hand, she trusted him and took the step forward.

Tazer heard multiple laughter coming from below the bridge as he took a look from below and saw multiple clay people looking towards them opening their mouths. their razor sharp teeth could tear flesh and bones apart in mere seconds.

Annie: What's that sound? Tazer? what's going on here!?

She was slowly panicking, her right foot stopped mid air as she heard the malicious laughter coming from below,

Tazer: It's okay, just take the step and we can continue.

He was trying to calm her down but the laughter coming from below were so loud she could barely hear Tazer, but still felt the touch of his prosthetic right arm.

She takes the step and manages to calm down while the clay people below were disappointed and ran away, it was back to a silent mood once again with just Tazer's voice and the sound of the wind as it passes by.

*creaks*

The plank Annie stepped on broke and she was dangling from the bridge, Thanks to Tazer's prosthetic arm, although who knows how long that would hold, the scream attracted the clay people back and were opening their mouths once again as they were ready to catch and eat her right there if she falls.

while they were doing the test the 1st, 2nd and 3rd were watching them,

1st: That's enough 2nd end the test now!

2nd: If anything happens I'll end it there don't worry.

1st: 3rd!? you're not stopping this?

the 3rd was silent, he didn't answer, he wanted to see for himself what would Tazer do in a situation like this.

with the clay people below the ground waiting for their snack to fall, Annie felt numerous hands touching all over her body, she was getting even more scared, with both hands holding Tazer's arms she couldn't shoo away the hands touching all over her body she yelled out,

"Tazer!! help me!!."

Tazer: I'm trying my best here

He slowly tries to pull her up while maintaining his balance on the bridge while holding unto Annie who was dangling and because of the hands touching her giving more weight, Tazer was in a tough situation.

He pulls her up slowly again only for the prosthetic arm to slowly loosen up he thought to himself [This is bad] Annie which now just felt a hand touch her breast and clitoris she starts to freak out even more and flails around, making both Tazer's arm loosen up even more and making him loose his balance,

Tazer: Hey! stop mov--moving!.

Annie: Get them off me! Get them off me!

The prosthetic was loose and she fell, she thought to herself [Ah, I'm falling.. looks like this is the en--!]

She felt another hand, it was an unfamiliar feeling for her, for it was the first time she touched Tazer's electrical arms made by his mana, and simply made for combat.

The sound of the clay people below munching on something she thought it was her but it was the prosthetic arm that fell, He pulled her back up and placed her on his back while they try to reach to the other side and finally end the test for the second floor.

2nd: Well looks like we have our answer

1st: That was still cutting it a bit close there

3rd: We shall see when they get here.

Tazer and Annie got to the other side safe and sound as He took off the blindfold her eyes were filled with tears the blindfold was all wet and soggy as she gave him a him a hug and bursts out crying while hugging him tightly.

Later on the two got back to the 2nd's whereabouts as puts down the cup she's been sipping on and says,

"Congratulations, you both made it pass the second round here's your reward."

She tosses the grail towards Tazer as he catches it and says,

Tazer: That makes two.

Annie: One more and we can get out right?

Tazer: Yup

*Flashback*

After hugging him very tightly she asks,

Annie: T-Tazer *sniff* *sniff*

Tazer: hmmm?

Annie: Can I go with you once we're out here?

Tazer recalls her lashing out in the forest when they were doing the first round.

"Annie: I know once you get out of here you'll just leave me in the cruel world."

He chuckles and ruffles her blondish hair saying,

Tazer: Sure, but don't blame me if you get hurt alright.

Annie: I said this once, but I doubt I'd get hurt with you around

It was the first time Tazer actually saw her smile that way before, usually when she would act towards him, he could know by a mile away that she was acting her emotions by reading the situation, but this was the first he saw her true smile, no trickery, no doubt, her true actual emotions popping up one by one.

*End of Flashback*

Tazer and Annie head towards the third floor while 2nd says,

2nd: So about the kid?

3rd: Hmm she no longer has the same thought she used to

1st: I see..

2nd: You can praise me now of my genius plans 1st! no need to be shy.

1st: Great job 2nd. *ends the call*

2nd: Phew that felt really great!

3rd: She now trusts him and her intentions like the villain Tazer has now changed into something more, thank you for your work 2nd *ends the call*

2nd: I just hope the 3rd actually goes easy on those two.

Chapter 60: Trust and Intentions
