Chapter 49: A battle coming to an end

Violet dodged a strike from one of the members and landed a blow on his stomach, one managed to stab a tiny knife in her armor, blood was streaming out, the wound wasn't that much, but it was enough to make her mad in the first place.

"I change my mind, I'll butcher every one of you here."

She faced her sword and the next thing the member that managed to stab a knife in her was already on the ground, he could barely hear the screams that occurred right after he was facing upwards.

He felt cold, he thought it was the wind passing by, but a few minutes have passed and he was starting to feel even more cold as he rests his hand on his chest, he felt something liquid, he took a look and it was blood oozing out, He took one last turn to watch his comrades but what he saw, was them being massacred.

left and right his teammates would either loose an arm or two as he slowly dies, in his last few moments of life, his eyes reflected Violet killing every single one of the members without mercy, while some were screaming from the pain from loosing a limb or two.

Meanwhile Connor and the rest we're looking for a lever the villain pulled to open the secret passage.

Cameron and Emilia were guarding the entrance, Oliver, Connor, Xander and Gwyn were grabbing something they could find, it doesn't matter what as long as it opens the wall for them to the passageway Kix told them about.

Gwyn: Isn't there something you can see there that could help us Kix?.

Kix: The monitors aren't picking up anything, but if I had to guess the lever has to be close to the door.

Upon hearing this Gwyn noticed a candle on a table that was exactly so odd, Connor blurted out in a childish way,

"AAAAHHHH I don't wannaa look anymoreee."

He said that, but he was still looking for the lever, he tried to pull anything he could see, The odd thing Gwyn saw was the candlelight not moving, she walked towards it and blows to light it off.

but it never turned off considering Gwyn just blew at it, she was convinced and pulled the candle, the room was shaking, Connor bumped his head as he was under a table, the others were tense as the room shake uncontrollable, the ceiling was cracking, some of the paint were starting to peel off.

And it finally stopped, everyone was calm but still cautious for something might happen after the shock.

But nothing happened after that, Connor lets out a sigh of relief,

"Thank god noth--!."

Gwyn: Don't set a flag please.

The man who had his mouth stopped from saying something smiled back as they all proceed to enter the pathway.

There were candles on each side of the wall, and it was cramped, they were walking in a straight line. Emilia who was scared was behind Cameron and she whispered,

"Cameron, can you umm hold my hand?."

she grips his shirt, seeing her nervous face Cameron gladly smiled and held her hand as they enter the pathway deeper.

The candles that were placed by the side of the walls were starting to get less and less as they go in, resulting it to be even more darker,

Connor looked towards Oliver and nodded, He understood what their leader was making him do.

Oliver lets out a sigh as he hits his head gently with his staff and as it got darker they managed to get a light, but it was Oliver himself who giving off a bluish light,

"I really wish you'd forget about this Boss."

Connor who was in front of the line was slapping his face trying not to burst out.

Oliver: I'll kill you!

as everyone was laughing to Oliver's reaction Gwyn was now concerned how deep they've been already, since they can't contact Kix and Bones anymore she gave the comm to Frenda since she was the one who made it and has more knowledge to technology than Gwyn has she asked,

"How's it going Frenda?."

Frenda: Yeah, this just proves how deep we are, the signal can't reach so for now..

Connor: We're on our own huh?

Frenda nods in agreement as they could hear the villain's voice through the speaker placed in the wall.

"WELCOMEEE!!! UNINVITED GUESTSS!! I HOPE YOU ENJOYYY THIS LITTLE GAME I MADE!! MWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

He was in a control room with Ava chained to the wall unconscious, Connor then placed his fingers on his chin thinking his words out loud,

"So we have a child here obsessed with showing off his toys hmm hmm."

frustrated he pressed a button with force as Connor and the rest fell as the ground they were standing on opened a hole, he takes a look at the unconscious Ava and says,

"Let's see if they can survive what you, yourself built."

meanwhile Violet who was done with her task outside, activated her comm and asked,

"Hey!? where am I suppose to go from here?."

Kix: Oh thank god, you finally activated it.

Violet: And? where do I go from here?

Bones: More importantly we lost connection with Leader and the others.

Violet: What did you say?

Bones: It maybe from them being too deep underground but just to make sure please hurry Violet.

Violet: I'm on it!

Kix: Don't worry about the way we'll guide you from here

with the situation she was given, she rushes back inside, she smashed the door and went to the directions led by Kix and Bones.

She enters the prison cells and sees Cv standing in front of his friend Violet stopped as she felt like a prey entering a predator's cave, but she knew Cv for a few times now.

as the droid glared at her, it's eyes were bright red, the same eyes when facing the swarm of droids when they were at the tunnel, the eyes to kill.

It plunged towards Violet without hesitation and tried to slash her with it's rapiers, she dodged and blocked one of them, backing away she says,

Violet: What the hell Cv!? What are you doing!?

Cv: Attack mode, active, kill all people with gifts

Violet: [Gifts? does it mean skills and magic?]

Violet who was now facing a droid who wants to kill every single person with magic, had to make a choice, whether she dies here or it does.

The rapiers in it's arms were shaking but his mode was still active. it's eyes still giving off a bright red shine, It leaps from the walls from left to right Violet then had to block it's strike from the right hand and ducked once it strikes with it's left.

[I can't fight in a tiny place like this.]

She thought to herself as all she could do was block and dodge the strike, if she tried to swing her sword it'd just be stuck from the walls, so she tries to lead it back outside.

Cv: You people are the reason my friend, my one and only friend died!.

It slashed from left to right with it's rapiers as Violet listened to it's cry and simply blocked them she thought to herself [This is annoying! I need to get it outside]

She had to make a choice and it was obvious she chose to live to serve Connor and one day the Shining Knights would become an actual squad, and that's the day she wishes to see and live in.

Backing away from each strike with the intent to kill it was obvious the droid filled with mad enhancement has categorized everyone the same whether they are good or bad.

The droid feints with a left and Violet manages to block it but tries to stab her with it's right arm, she took on the blow as she blocked it using her armor in the shoulder.

She shielded her face with her right shoulder, it was bleeding, as it streams down from the hole and the tip of the rapier she says,

"I guess I'm going to have to kill you, It was nice when you saved us a bunch of times now, Thanks."

The droid didn't respond but was still trying to shove in it's rapier deeper into Violet's shoulder she faces the droid head on as she swings it with her sword, smashing it into the wall and throwing it outside.

Critically damaged It tries to get up, twitching from it's legs, sparks were igniting in it's neck and arms.

Violet who walked towards the now enemy, she says,

"Stay down for good, or I'll finish you off here."

she increases her grip on her sword as she sees the droid still desperate to fight, of course she has no connections whatsoever to the droid, but she was thankful for all it's done for them ever since they got out of the Kingdom.

Cv: Everyone of you should be purged from the face of the planet.

Violet: Gonna throw a tantrum now? just because there are people like that doesn't mean everyone should be in the same pile.

Cv: He was my only friend and you too---!.

Violet: We all have lost loved ones! that's why we're fighting in the first place! to protect the ones we love! [Brother, please give me strength]

The droid rushes towards Violet slashing randomly as Violet countered all it's strike one by one, she sidesteps to upset the droid's footing.

She tried to swing her sword aiming for the droid's neck as it blocked the strike with both it's arm like rapiers, it was still thrown out.

It tries to get up once again as Violet appears right in front of him swinging it again, but by blocking it the second time one of it's rapiers broke, it's left rapier was broken, all it had now was it's right one.

The tables have turned, Violet who first encountered the new change of Cv was like the prey and the predator, and right now Violet seems to be like the prey fighting back at it's predator.

The droid knows it's outmatched by Violet's skill as a knight, but it went in anyway, slashing multiple times as she blocks them and smashes her sword on the ground the droid says,

"Useless move."

With her sword on the ground she was defenseless, but not powerless she lets go of her sword and dodged the strike, the rapier was stuck to the ground and the droid couldn't react quickly. She punched through the droid's chest crushing to what looks like the It's heart.

It was beating as she held it in her hands and thought [Maybe having emotions like humans is not something droids should have] and crushes it once and for all.

she backs away and grabs her sword doing her stance, because she knows that won't stop it.

the droid grabs one of it's pistols on it's sash and fires multiple bullets, Violet blocked every shot and tried to slash it again with 100% but it dodges the strike and lands on top of a tree saying,

"I will never forget this day, I will return and kill every one of you inside the walls, but for now I'll make an army and attack the kingdom."

Violet: That's the most stupidest idea I ever heard.

Violet tries to chase after it but with the remaining pistol the droid held unto it and pressed a button attached, it threw the pistol towards Violet as Kix says on the comm

"Violet! get out of there! it's a bomb!."

She reacts right on time and manages to escape the blast.. but because of that it was gone, it retreated and who knows when it'll return.

Kix: Violet you need to go find Leader and the others now.

Violet: I'm on it! geez.

Connor and the others finally reached the ground.. for some reason they had no injuries from the fall, when Connor take a look Oliver was all beaten up as they were falling he casted a one for all spell.

(This spell casts all his teammates whether permanent of temporarily as long as their an ally, don't take damage from anything, but the pain is received by the one who casts it.)

Connor walks up to Oliver and one man carries him saying,

"You're so heavy man."

As he was pissed he transferred all the pain into Connor, as he crumbled and fell from the extreme pain he let out a high shriek.

"Now ! Now! that was a bit of cheating right there! but let's see for how long you all can keep it up."

The villain has said it's words once again as they could multiple footsteps heading their direction, everyone was all ready to go, Emilia fired off a flare to see what's in front of them.

as the red light passed over dozens of copies of the villain she immediately fired multiple shots killing off the clones from the distance.

They were slow copies of the villain who has Ava, and the one orchestrating this right now, they were skinny, their flesh could almost be seen, as if they were like walking zombies.

Oliver launched multiple icicles at the copies from a far, and Gwyn launched water needles and spreading damage when contact, with them firing from a distance, the clones were still too many, too many for just Oliver,Emilia and Gwyn to snipe alone, if they could actually run they'd be surrounded from the moment they opened their eyes.

They couldn't speak but were making gibberish noises, as if they were in pain. moaning deeply, some clones were still moving right after they're legs were shot off clean.

They crawled and crawled until they get their heads blown off.

Gwyn: We can't keep up this up for very long!

Connor: Alright it's our turn guys! don't let a single one of this freaks touch you!

Cameron, Connor, Frenda and Xander who couldn't do long range attack had to get in closer while Gwyn, Oliver and Emilia would snipe them from a far.

They still had an advantage as they were moving very slowly, their strikes as slow as well, it was like the world has been slowed down with them not being affected.

Frenda uses a chain to capture one of them and uses it to slam the other clones, dealing multiple waves, Cameron was slashing multiple clones from left to right one tried to plunge towards him as he noticed and kicked it to the others, Connor then yells out,

"Hey! Everyone don't stray too far! you'll get surrounded!."

Xander, who was a fighter class had a much more vulnerable situation as he had to make contact, their skin wasn't contagious there wasn't anything wrong with making contact with them, but they don't know what those hands of theirs are coated with, so they're just being cautious.

Xander dodges their slow strikes and lands a blow knocking them like pins in a bowling ball.

With them defending with their lives, there were still too many of the clones, they never end, they'd just keep coming.

Until a red light on top of them shone bright as it looked like a meteor about to crash on earth.

Destroying a huge wave of the clones as it arrives on the ground, Violet who just arrived already figures out the situation and decides to slash up all the clones that were in the area and those who weren't affected by her impact.

They were as very much happy to see Violet safe and sound she swung her sword and at least 30 of them were sent flying.

Violet: Don't just stand there! help me!.

Connor: You heard the raging knight charge!!.

With everyone cooperating together they were able to thin out the hundreds of clones present in there, they made combos of their own, some crossing skills and many more and in the end clearing the whole cave.

Fascinated from the result he smashed the keyboard and had a huge smile on his face,

"I have gathered so many data now!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Ava slowly wakes up and sees her rescuers on the screen heading towards them, she bit her lip thinking [Why are they doing this? they're only getting hurt because of me, they should just give up and leave me here..I'm sure my sister will come for me, I just know it.]

Connor and the rest enter another room, it was huge, as huge as a stadium.

Violet: What the hell? who has a room like this?

Villain: I do of course, If it's for the means to experiment something new I'm willing to make the whole world my lab or my testing area that is.

The Villain responded to Violet's question on the speakers as Connor walks towards the speakers and says with a raged face,

"Where are you?."

His eyes were filled with hatred and his malice was so overwhelming for the villain he replied,

"Tsk Tsk Tsk, a little excited now are we? don't worry if you manage to defeat Gor I'm sure you'll be seeing me soo--."

as Connor immediately destroyed the speaker, the villain was calm and pressed the button to release the monster he called Gor.

a cage was slowly opening as everyone could hear a slither coming from the inside, they were readying for battle once again as a medium sized serpent went out rampaging, Emilia, Gwyn and Oliver launched their long ranged attacks but had no affect on the cold blooded animal.

Cameron plunges towards its neck to slash it in one strike but his spear couldn't penetrate the tough scales the serpent had,

Not even Xander's fists could leave a mark on them, the serpent simply swung it's tail as if it were a whip Cameron managed to dodge the swing while Xander protected himself using his arms.

The serpent notices Connor and decides to towards him, knowing this Connor saw Violet and reacted nothing to the Serpent heading towards him, Cameron threw his spear in front of the serpent only for it to be flung around like it were a twig, Xander who tried grabbing it's tail to stop it's movements only to be thrown to the wall, Oliver freezing the serpent but only for it to become bigger and more stronger.

Emilia and Gwyn launching projectiles at it with no effect.. Frenda who noticed what he was doing and decided to hide her chains.

Connor was staring at the cold blooded animal head on, with no fear from it, he stood his ground as it got closer Violet came in front of him, it realized her from the front and decided to swallow her up.

The Villain who was watching them was laughing with joy to see it's pet eat one of Connor's teammates..

meanwhile with Violet inside the snake Connor closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"It's been a while since we've done this."

He held his sword high and said,

"Black Poison, Tenth Style the drop of death."

He rushed towards the serpent with no hesitation, he ran as the serpent reacted it couldn't move for some reason, the serpent felt a sting coming from it's stomach as if it was affected by medusa's eyes of petrification, Connor rushes towards the side of the serpent with a drop of black water at the tip of his sword he slices it's skin and causes it to burn as it spreads all over it's body,

Everyone was astonished from a skill Connor did managed to sliced open the serpent's side as if it were nothing.

as the serpent was wailing around from the intense heat a bright red glow was focused on it's head as a burst of light came out of it and it fell Emilia then asks,

"Is it over?."

Everyone was silent, the whole room was quiet, even the villain had no words seeing how they defeated this unbeatable beast.

the mouth of the serpent was moving as something was getting out of it, Violet who was covered with the serpent's saliva reacted,

"I am never doing this ever again!."

Her armor was slimy, her hair too, her face even worse, when Violet was eaten she stabbed her sword into one of it's fangs and waited for the right moment Connor would give the serpent the meaning of death.

Inside the control room the villain was planning it's escape as Violet crashes down on it's door and throws her sword right at the door he was about to escape to.

Frenda's chain then grabbed the villain and captured it, meanwhile Connor went and destroyed Ava's chains freeing her, but she was too weak to even say a word anymore Connor just pats her head and says,

"You were good holding out for this long, you're safe now."

Upon hearing this she gave him a hug and cried as loud as she could

A few hours later Gwyn and her team would send the Villain to the police once they get back inside the kingdom, while Connor and the Shining Knights would take care of Ava, Stella's little sister.

They were all ready to head back to the kingdom, Ava was fast asleep with a warm blanket all over her.

Connor walked towards Gwyn and asked,

"You know, there's no harm in joining us if you'd like."

She lets out a chuckle and say,

"You must have forgotten Boss, that me and my team are one of the dark side groups in Arondight, It was just sheer luck that we were able to join forces with you, also because you made a contract with us."

Connor: So can I sign a contract to let you guys join us then?.

She laughed at his sarcasm as she then says,

"Well I wish things would stay where they are, but I guess there are some cases that they don't, but either way this isn't a goodbye, My team and I are willing to help the Shining Knights anytime, just give us a call."

She hands him their phone number as Connor eyes sparked up saying,

"I've finally got a girl's numberr wooooo <3."

He was expecting her to lash out but instead she laughed softly and lend her hand out saying,

"It's been a fun time Boss."

He smiles and shakes her hand,

"Same here."

A few hours have passed and Gwyn and her team dropped The Shining Knights on their base..

Kix: See ya guys!

Bones: I really wish we get to join in on the fun.

Frenda: *Waves timidly*

Gwyn: Just remember we'll be right there when you call for us again.

Connor: *Smiles* Yep, I'll make sure to call you every night

then the Shining Knights gathered in front of Gwyn and her team,

"Alright!."

Everyone: THANK YOU!!.

They all bowed their heads to them as a sign of gratitude, every single one of them were flustered to experience this for the first time and left with a smile on their faces.

As the other Knights went back inside the mansion Emilia walked towards Cameron and said,

"Hey Cameron! go with me to buy ice cream and walk around the park!!."

Cameron: Ehh?? but we just got back?

Emilia: Pleaseee *sad face*

He lets out a sigh and says,

"Alright, can we at least stay and sit down at the park?."

Emilia: No, we need to walk around for a more romantic moment.

She grabs his hand as they proceed to head towards the city to get ice cream and have a stroll at the park.

Oliver walks towards Connor and asks,

"You think we'll see them again?."

Connor: I don't know, the future is certainly mysterious, it mixes all types of people together, who knows maybe we will.

as they then proceeded to head inside the mansion, Gwyn and her team placed the villain outside the police station and went away right before they showed up.

Kix: Hey Leader do you think our rank from the leader boards might get an upgrade?

Frenda: Geez still hung up on that huh?

Bones: *Laughs*

Gwyn: Well we should be, since we managed to get both signatures from both contracts.

Bones: Just a shame though the one from the Scorching Scorpions contract we made never had a chance to be signed.

Frenda: *Shows the contract fully signed by Scar timidly*

Gwyn: That's my girl *Chuckles*

She then thoughts to herself [Well I'm sure we'll be seeing those Knights soon.]

Gwyn was right about to go to sleep, she closes her eyes and let's out sigh from a hard day's work, as her phone vibrates and she lets out a smile.
