Chapter 44: Meeting

Gwyn was heading towards Connor's room, she was holding a folder containing Stella's sister, Ava who was a prisoner by the scorching scorpions and the reason for Stella's betrayal.

"Boss, we are ready to go."

He was sitting down on the floor as if he was about to lay down on the ground, He turns towards her and says,

"Contact the others."

Gwyn bows her head and leaves the room, and started contacting the other members of the Shining Knights.

Ever since they're assault on Scar and the Scorching Scorpions, Connor extended Gwyn and her team's contract for one more mission, Connor made a promise to Stella he'd save her sister, and for that he asked the help to Gwyn and her team.

After that they did their best on finding all the scorching scorpion bases where Ava could've been kept in and have successfully found her and are planning their rescue operation.

Meanwhile the rest of the knights were busy doing their own things for the meantime Oliver was at his house, but instead of a messy room filled with trash and lots of his dirty clothes, he was there cleaning, and arranging his things.

Xander went out to buy some materials they would need for the rescue, since their last battle cost them a lot of items and materials they need.

Cameron and Emilia were at the mansion, they never had anything to do but train with each other, other than that they never went out to enjoy the city or themselves.

Violet was patrolling in the city, who would be later attacking a girl who could summon clones of herself.

The members who were out in the city have been sent texts by Xander to come back to the base.

Oliver was placing all his books one by one in the shelf and receives the text, he picks up the phone in his pocket and says,

"Right where I'm almost done over here."

It's then shown that 1/2 of his room was clean and the rest was still messy, his clothes all over the floor, trashes everywhere, cans laying on the floor scattered.

Violet was captured by the woman's clones as she received the text she said,

"Aren't you gonna pick it up, I bet it's important." Her clones released her, Violet wasn't expecting this outcome, she believed she would be killed here considering the situation. But no she wasn't she was spared.

Frustrated and at the same time relieved she picked up her phone and read the text,

Violet we have everything we need for the rescue we need you back here now.

"You better go."

She said as her clones dispersed and she slowly walks out of the alleyway, that's what the text sent by Xander said, She was clenching her fists, not accepting the result of her battle with the girl, her brows furrowed and says,

"Tchh what's wrong with that woman?."

She was expecting to have a rematch with the girl one day, seeing this battle end with her loosing doesn't quite bring a good taste in her mouth, She then proceeds to head back to the mansion.

Cameron and Emilia were the first ones to arrive at Connor's room since they were simply outside training at the backyard, after experiencing his first battle in the Scorching Scorpions base, He has witnessed each and every one of his seniors strength including their weaknesses.

But all that was in his mind during the battle, was making sure Emilia was safe and protected, That was all he could ever think of during the moment.

Cameron and Emilia, both exhausted from their training enter the living room and heads towards their leader's quarters which was upstairs He says,

"Well looks like we'll be able to save Sis's sister."

She turns a sad look at him, as Stella was the one who would take care of their wounds right after they get beaten up from their training, She was like a second mother to them and Connor being the funny yet responsible Father.

She says in reply [Yeah, I'm sure Stella would be happy to know we were able to rescue her sister] They went up the stairs and were getting closer to Connor's room or in which the room the other members calls the "Throne room"

Connor doesn't know about the others calling his room the "Throne room" and even if he did It would surely enlighten him.

They pass by an empty room, the door was completely open, filled with Stella's remaining things and a letter on the desk.

Cameron notices the letter and tries to enter the room and read it out of curiosity, Emilia's brows furrows as she looks at Cameron slowly enter the room.

She pulls him out of the room and says,

"You know Con-- I mean Boss doesn't want us in here."

Looking disappointed to be stopped he lets out a sigh when she pulls his ear and says,

"Oh? you have chosen death then."

She lets go of his swelling ear and crosses her arms as a voice calling their names comes from downstairs.

"Oy! you two already here?."

"I mean who else could it be?."

"Probably a ghost."

"Shut up Oliver!."

The other knights have arrived, Emilia skips towards Connor's door and says to Cameron while both hands behind her back,

"Let's go in already Cameron."

He stared at the pretty girl he fell in love with and said,

"Why am I expecting flower petals and breeze to pass by at this exact moment."

Confused as what he meant she becomes frustrated and began to pout her face, giggling from seeing Emilia's reaction he went towards her and said,

"Let's."

He opens the door and enters the room, in front of them was Connor laying upside down on his chair greeting the two with a smile and asked,

"Done with your adorable young love?."

The two were red as a tomato as they both look at opposite directions, Connor was simply laughing at how they reacted and the two went inside following the other knights who were behind them.

Inside the room Gwyn and her team were already there, For the past few weeks they've been in his room finding where Stella's sister, Ava could've been kept in they checked every file Gwyn has containing about the Scorching Scorpions ever since they managed to transfer the files to Bones's laptop.

With the information they got, and what little they could find from those files of their hidden bases, their colleagues, they were positive where she was kept.

But the problem is if they're actually right about their research, it would mean they'd have to go outside the kingdom walls.

The base they believed to have kept Ava was near a village outside the kingdom, the sole purpose he asked Xander to go buy the materials they'd need for the rescue.

With the knights all present in the room, they'd all take their seats in a round table, after they got back from the base Connor was given an idea on how to handle their future meetings with the Shining Knights members from someone and thus the round table was born.

Everyone was already comfortable where they would all sit, with Connor at the middle of the table, then to the left is Oliver, Cameron, then Emilia, then Violet facing towards Connor and then Xander at Connor's right side, There were no complaints from the knights of their position in the round table.

Gwyn walks forward and places the information they've gathered for the past weeks and says,

"We believe this is where your friend's sister's being kept in."

Oliver: It looks like it's from the outside of the kingdom walls? Is it?.

The rest of the knights stood up and got closer to the images placed on the table.

Xander: He's right! it is from the outside.

Violet: As long as I get to fight strong opponents.

Gwyn: Yes, this is the problem. It's a three hour drive from outside the gates to the Citadel's location.

After hearing the word "Citadel." they were silent and sat back down on their seats.

Connor stands up as Gwyn moves backwards, Kix walks to Gwyn and hands her, her phone, she accepts the call, at first she was hesitant to ask but since the call came from an old friend she couldn't deny it and raised her hand right where Connor was about to explain their plan.

Connor: Alright we have our intel, we believe she is being held in this citadel by the scorching scorpions we must be able--!."

He notices Violet's look behind him, he turns around in curiosity and sees Gwyn raising her hand he then asks,

Connor: Yes Gwyn?

Gwyn: Can I take this for a moment?

His attention was focused on who her caller was, and in a lovey dovey voice he said,

Connor: Sure, Is it your boyfriend?

Gwyn:Shut up!

She, Kix, Bones and Frenda went outside the room as the rest of the knights including Gwyn's team chuckled Violet asks,

"Is it really a citadel?."

Their chuckles all went silent right after asking that Connor was laughing as loud as he can as he realizes they were already silent and clears his throat and says,

"Yes, with no heroes around, a citadel outside the kingdom is a perfect spot to do whatever you want, keep prisoners or stash all the items you've stolen, this is the conclusion me and Gwyn's team have managed to sum up."

It seems logical to keep prisoners there, no issues whatsoever, the other knights believe their Boss's plan either way and are willing to serve him for the rest of their lives.

Cameron then stands up and says,

"So when are we going to leave for the outside Boss?."

Everyone was thinking the same thing, but Cameron got to be the one to ask it first, Emilia was staring at Cameron with a smile on her face.

Connor wasn't expecting Cameron to be the one to asked that question. He thought either Violet or Oliver would be the ones to ask but what happened was that Cameron did, He laughed at himself for a few seconds and calmed down, he shot him a thumbs up and his teeth sparkling,

"Well as soon possible, once everyone's ready that is."

Satisfied with the answer he takes his seat although something was troubling Cameron, he was nervous of something from the outside the kingdom walls, he clenches his fists and Emilia notices and stares at him in a concern look.

Connor: I asked Xander to go and buy us some things we'd need for our rescue, and I'm pretty sure he's already done with that, so we won't be worrying about anything when we get outside.

The other knights were excited, Connor's brows furrowed as he saw Violet raising her hand, he asked,

Connor: Yes Violet?.

Violet: What are we going to expect once we get out there Boss?

After hearing Violet's question everyone in the room was silent, Connor rests his hand on his head and says,

"Monsters,Rampaging Droids, Gangs, probably some villains who hide out there, there are a lot of things outside you don't want to fight, even for you Violet."

Usually he would try to add a joke once in a while but this was different, he was all serious, his tone was deep unlike at times where he would raise his voice like how a lady would sound to tease someone.

She nods her head and for the first time Violet never whined being told not to fight anything, this is because none of them have ever been outside the kingdom before, meanwhile Connor has experienced it once and that was when he was still training.

Connor's face from a serious one turned into a happy go lucky face as he said,

"But the scenery there are truly outstanding I can't wait for all of you guys to see it."

He turns around and notices the door opens with Gwyn entering the room, He then scoffs and says,

"Oh done with the confession already? how was it? did it make you feel like sinking in the bottomless ocean?."

She slowly gets frustrated with each question Connor would bombard her with.

Connor: Did you cry? Did you feel sorry for the guy? Did you want some time between the two of you? Come on! Come on! Tell me!

Gwyn: SHUT UP!!!

She yelled at the top of her lungs as she could hear her teammates laughter coming from the outside the door and the Shining Knights members, she looked towards Connor with a frustrated face and said,

"We should be going now! before we'll loose our chance."

After Gwyn left the room Connor let out a chuckle, as the other knights were wondering what she meant by "Loose our chance?" that's what they were all thinking as of the moment.

He then turns around the Shining Knight members and says,

"Ah yes I forgot to tell you this, since we're not an official squad yet we can't go out the gate like you think we will."

They were all confused and silent at the same time until.

Cameron: You don't mean!?

He shot him a thumbs up once again with his teeth sparkling,

"Yes, you do know what I mean, we're going to sneak out."
