Alarm Buzzing

Loretta rolled on the bed after putting off the alarm that kept buzzing non-stop. She wasn't in the mood to go out and work today.

She lay back to sleep but in less than a minute, her phone starts to ring.

She murmured before she reluctantly put the phone on her ear without even looking at who the call was.

Hello" she grumbled"

"Good morning lore," Lauren said".

Morning babe" she replied"

Don't tell me you're still in bed?" Lauren asked"

Yeah. What's up?" She asked"

Nothing much. Just checking up on you" Lauren said"

Okay thank you" Loretta said now with her eyes open"

You're welcome.

Don't you have plans for today??" Lauren asked"

I do. I'll be up in a bit" Loretta said"

Please do and don't forget to at least give a guy your number today" Lauren said with all seriousness"

Loretta didn't say a word after she said that.

Can you hear me??" Lauren asked"

Yes, I can hear you" Loretta replied"

Alright then. Do have a lovely day.

Thanks, babe. You too" Loretta replied"

Thanks. I love you" Lauren said"

I love you too" Lorreta smiled and ended the call afterward"

Immediately after the call, she stood up and head to the bathroom to do the needful.

Lauren is Loretta's best friend. They practically grew up together and do everything together.

The 29years old have been friends with Lorreta for over 20 years and they now see each other as sisters.

Loretta is the only child of her parent while Laureen is the only girl with two older brothers.

Loretta grew up with so much love and contentment. Despite her parents were not extremely rich but she never lacks anything.

These two beautiful young ladies are ride or die. Lauren is already in a serious relationship with Matt, but Loretta on the other hand is still very much single.

It's not as if men ain't asking her out but she just hasn't found that which her heart yearns for. All she's focused on for now is her job and her blog.

After freshening up on Saturday morning, Loretta strolled out to one of the beautiful gardens in New York City where she usually relaxes and works on her blog. This has automatically become one of her weekend routines.

Loretta works as one of the Human Resource executives at her company and when she's not at work, she's blogging. Blogging has always been her passion even before she got a job.

Not quite long, a domineering figure walked into the relaxation garden. This young man who is very wealthy and influential came in a very casual way. Despite the simplicity in his dressing, you could still feel his aura.

Kendrick Robert, a tall, dark, handsome, and very influential young man sat down and starts to press his phone.

That relaxation garden is meant for the rich. Someone who has little or earns little can't be there because of their top-notch service and bills.

The waitress was falling over each other in admiration from the moment he stepped in.

That guy is so cute" one of the waitresses said"

Yeah very cute" the other waitress acknowledged"

While the two waitresses were still fantasizing about him, the third one left them to take his orders.

Good morning sir" she greeted politely"

Good morning" he replied drifting his attention from his phone to the waitress standing before him"

Knowing fully why the waitress was standing, he took the menu book and ordered.

Hennessy is fine" he said"

Alright sir" she smiled and left"

Lorreta on the other hand has been so engrossed with her laptop that she didn't even notice the presence of someone who has sent the waitress in awe.

Loretta loves sitting in a corner that is quite enclosed from view.

The waitress came back with his drink in no time and he began to sip from it.

Kendrick is the CEO of KR Enterprise. He's the first child of two. He's from a very wealthy home but he never for once depends on his family's assets. He worked so hard to make the name he has today for himself.

Loretta was still in her working mode when her phone starts to ring. She answered the call that lasted for some minutes.

It was at this point that Kendrick realized someone was sitting in that corner.

He couldn't see the person who was speaking over the phone but the voice he heard was soothing enough that he wanted to see her by all means.

Kendrick stylishly walked to that end she was seated like he was searching through his phone holding his cup of drink, just to see the face of the person who owns that soothing voice.

Just when he passed by, Lorreta unconsciously looked his way and they made eye contact.

For some reason, Loretta didn't know why she finds herself staring at this young man she just made eye contact with.

Just when he was about to make a move to go closer to her, his phone starts to ring and it seems like it was an emergency, so he left without saying a word to her.

Loretta watched him vanish from her sight and she finds herself smiling for no reason.

She went back to work till it was time for her to leave.

TWO WEEKS LATER...

(Lorreta on FaceTime with her mum)

Good morning mum

Morning my dear. How are you??"Mrs. Wayne asked"

I'm fine mum. How about you??" Loretta asked"

I'm fine my dear"Mrs. Wayne replied with a smile"

Okay. I spoke with dad yesterday, he said he'll be back in a few days" Lorreta said"

Yes. I've missed my husband" Mrs. Wayne said"

Mum!!!"Loretta rolled her eyes"

You don't know this feeling because you've decided not to be serious with your life.

Loretta tell me, when do you intend to be serious with your life??" Mrs. Wayne asked"

Mum, please let's not do this. It's too early" She pleaded because she knows her mum too well"

I won't stop until you do what's right. You're not getting any younger my baby.

Okay, mum. I've heard you. Soon I'll introduce him to you." Loretta said with all seriousness"

Are you sure about this??"Mrs. Wayne asked"

Yes, mum.

Okay, darling. I'll be the happiest mother on planet Earth if you should do that."Mrs. Wayne said with a sense of relief"

Okay, mum.

Alright, my dear. Please do take care of yourself.

Okay, mum.

Call disconnected.

"Now I'm in deep shit," she said to herself.

Mrs. Wayne is a very loving mother and a sweet wife.

She's the complete summary of the word beautiful and calmness but recently, she has been in her daughter's tail to bring her man.

Now Lorreta just gave her hopes that don't even exist and she already knows there is no way out for her until she provides that man.

She sat on her bed thinking of exactly what to do next since she has already successfully landed herself in a big mess.

After several thoughts, she made up her mind to open up her heart to anyone that comes from now henceforth.

Besides it's not as if people weren't asking her out, she just hasn't given anyone a second thought. It seems right now she has no choice.

On Monday morning, everyone was up and doing at Shizells group of company.

Every Monday is one of the days Loretta hates because she gets tired and worn out differently.

Activities ranging from several hours of meetings to sorting of incoming and outgoing mails pilled up over the weekend, documentation of new staff, and new contracts.

All this has to be done and sometimes Loretta ends up forgetting she hasn't taken lunch.

The company has been working on this particular proposal and she just can't wait for it to be approved and finally breathe some fresh air. Moreover, this contract is a big deal for the company and every hand is on deck.

Tomorrow will be the final board meeting and the CEO of the company they're in partnership with will be coming in person.

He is rumored to be a very influential, wealthy, and young strict man. He doesn't joke with his business and many that have come in contact with him said he's an Alpha.

After all that mouths have said about him, Loretta couldn't wait to finally meet this supposed Alpha and make confirmation herself.

The following day.

The board room is been filled one after the other with the senior staff of the company that will be present for the meeting.

The meeting is supposed to start at 10 am. At first, she thought they would have to wait for the other party to join them, but to her greatest surprise, his presence was announced at exactly 10 am.

By that time, she had already gone back to the office to pick up some documents and had to rush back since he has already arrived.

Immediately she pushed the door open, her eyes fell on someone she least expected.
