Tedd Outa stood across from seraph. Seraph had no weapon yet, so a servant came and handed him a spear. Which he politely declined and asked for a sword.
Tedd raised an eyebrow, "You wish to compete with me with a sword?" He straightened his back and relaxed his posture considerably.
"Yes." Seraph didn't elaborate further, grabbing the sword the servant brought to him and swung it in the air two times. He cracked his neck then looked toward Tedd, "Come on then."
Tedd shook his head, "Don't look down upon me," He called for a sword, "I've been trained heavily in sword combat. To pick that weapon is akin to looking down upon my training." Tedd spoke briskly, the happiness on his face unconcealed.
Tedd was not lying, he was truly an expert in sword combat. However, he wouldn't pick the weapon unless seraph did… That would've been overkill and the princess would hate him for that.
Princess Sela looked over at seraph, she shifted her gaze to Alena who had best understood seraph's strength and saw that she looked intently at the battle. She parted her lips and spoke quietly, "I never knew he was good at sword combat…"
Sela shot a look back at Alena. Alena only shook her head, "I've fought him only when he had a spear, I can't vouch for his… skills with the sword."
Sela looked at seraph's back, her eyes revealing a sliver of worry before being consumed by a stoic face. Her hands clenched, she didn't think Seraph would severely underestimate his opponent. She had to place her trust in his decisions for now.
Seraph's casual face turned into an icy field as he took the first step forward. The drastic emotion change stunned many people in the audience. He didn't place his guard up, it looked like he was strolling toward tedd with a sword in hand.
Seraph wasn't intimidating, he looked scrawny compared to most of the nobles here. Tedd felt anger well up inside him, the boy in front of him must have underestimated his skill severely.
Tedd stomped on the ground, he bolted toward Seraph like an arrow. Letting out a long battle cry as he charged forward like a bull, his sword raised to the sky like a bird of prey carrying all of his strength.
Seraph looked unphased, he took an aggressive step diagonally. Tedd's sword slammed into his previous position as his own sword bolted forward aiming at tedd's throat.
Tedd threw his body back, leaning backward as the sword sailed above his face. His foot danced on the ground as he regained his posture and spun to face seraph who had already taken another aggressive step forward, launching a heavy counter attack on his opponent.
Tedd swung his sword, blocking one of the aggression fueled strikes. He charged against seraph's aggressive charge pulling them closer to each other, his strikes countered Seraph's. Tedd's frame loomed over Seraph and each strike held his weight. Seraph had only seen this silently, but he quickly noticed himself getting overwhelmed quickly.
His sword suddenly turned into a serpent, lunging toward his opponent's chest after a carefully placed block. His opponent, swivelled his hips and knee toward seraph's waist. Seraph caught the kick in his separate hand and rotated his hip kicking toward their face.
Tedd threw himself to the ground, performing a handstand as he ripped his leg from seraph's grasp. Performing a backflip before landing on the ground in front of seraph.
Seraph's hair danced as he took another aggressive charge, his sword raised slightly above his shoulder. Tedd had only just regained his posture, to be met with a bull charging toward him like a maniac. He pulled himself together, taking a stance, pointing his sword toward Seraph.
Seraph swept his sword down like an eagle, just as Tedd pulled his sword up like a silver wall. Their attacks met, seraph's sword bounced off of Tedd's and he was forced to grind his heels to a halt and practically leap backwards unless he wanted to be met with tedd's swift counter attack.
People watched the fight with their mouths agape, this fight was more than what they were expecting. Tedd although didn't look special, he was a noble in blood. Those with enough money to afford private trainers and put into place exercise routines to make them an imposing enough force to deal with in direct battle.
While Seraph looked young, they forgot the fact that he was a hero.
Only these few minutes had provided most of the nobility a very good demonstration of power from each side.
Seraph was barely working up a sweat, he saw that his opponent was slightly tired… Which surprised him. He had never met someone who could match him somewhat like this, even when using john's footwork he found himself in a difficult situation against this opponent.
Seraph narrowed his eyes, he gathered himself. Scoring a strike against his opponent was hard… He thought back to [Church's Walls] ability. He could perhaps use some of their moves in this fight… although risky. He could use Tedd as an anvil for his move…
He nodded his head, which confused the people watching. Seraph got into his first stance, which was a low guard… that exposed his entire upper body to attacks. He approached, tedd like this.
Tedd, still in his own stance, charged forward and with a slight raise of his sword he was already in position to cut down toward seraph's chest. Seraph was already moving to raise his sword, as soon as tedd's cut came down seraph had raised his sword…
The cuts collided, however neither moved back. Tedd slightly twisted his sword, attacking in a different direction quickly as seraph readjusted and took an aggressive step forward to take tedd's shoulder…
Tedd's sword was met with seraph's sword once more, tedd was forced to backpedal, each time he swung his sword out to attack the aggressive charging seraph to find it either blocked or deflected…
However, Tedd took a firm step back, reeled his sword behind his head and then delivered an aggressive cut to Seraph's fast approach. Seraph saw the blade coming, he raised his sword to statically block… his wrist bent back and his sword peeled away, the strike landing heavily on seraph's shoulder.
Seraph immediately pulled away, his expression jolted as pain overtook him. However, the battle was not over yet… he had to concede which he was not keen on doing. Tedd took another firm step forward delivering the same strike… Seraph, didn't repeat his mistake he swung his sword and deflected their strike down.
Tedd used the deflected strike to attempt to fuel an overhead strike. Seraph stopped retreating, then suddenly lunged forward while taking a step to the side… His thrust landed firmly on tedd's chest… Tedd's strike sailed through the air missing his target.
Tedd lost all of his air, letting a shrill gasp. He reeled back, to be met with another strike to his figure… Seraph leaned forward as he began delivering strike after strike against tedd's sword and body.
He finally slammed his sword against tedd's hand, disarming him. His foot raised slightly, as he delivered a harsh kick into tedd's gut bringing him down to his knees.
Tedd screamed out in pain and horror. His screams were a mixture between gasps and few incoherent screams with the little breath he had.
Then with another quick motion, Seraph's sword mercilessly glided through the air and slammed perfectly on tedd's soft cheek. Tedd's head snapped to the side and his body completely collapsed like a rock.
Seraph concealed his pained look, with a mask of indifference. His sword found its way into a servants hand, as his glare went from the fallen noble to the smiling prince. The crowd was silently, until people began to swarm the fallen noble.
Servants ran to check if he was still alive, as seraph callously spoke, "I wouldn't kill him. He's still alive, just bring him to bed and give him some care."
Friends of the fallen noble came forth, protesting about seraph's unjust brutality at the end of the round.
"He had already lost after that strike!"
" You went too far!"
"You should be arrested for such brutality!"
To which seraph calmly replied, "Your friend has already sworn that anything that happened during the match be it a horrid injury or a misplaced strike… he shall accept." His eyes gave off a sinister glint. "I also remember, the rules contained that the opponent must concede or be knocked out in order for the match to end."
Seraph's icey cold voice changed slightly as he turned his head to the side, Sela and Alena had already made their way to his side with sela intently healing his arm. "Or, perhaps you wish to argue?"
The implication he made was clear to the nobles, argue and get their friend's honor destroyed, his future destroyed or simply accept what had occurred. These were the same options he had given to Tedd after that last strike…
