Vol2.Chap21 Humor me

A girl sat on a hill the view of the forest breathtaking as she cried, letting her tears roam free down her face freely, sitting in a fetal position, her head buried in her arms. Silent sobs cut through the deafening silence that surrounded her.

"Hey, are you alright?" A hushed, calming voice asked as they approached the little girl, a black dress draping down her figure, sitting down near her.

The little girl wiped the tears from her eyes looking up at the woman, the flowing black hair, her slightly pale skin, her hazy white eyes.

"I'm fine," The little girl muttered, wiping her face with her hand, purging it from the tears and snot that painted her face. "I just, want to be alone for a while."

"You don't look fine," She sighed, her arms wrapping around the shoulder of the little girl pulling her in for a hug, "You can talk to me, it can be a secret only we share, your father doesn't have to know," Her hands slowly stroked the girls hair in their embrace, the tears pricking at her eyes once more as she cried and cried.

"That's it, let it all out," she whispered sweet nothings into her ear, continuing to gently stroke her hair her fingers running through her long, silky, blonde strands smiling contently.

Damara ran, her skirt let up a bit by her hands to stop her from tripping, Passers-by would stare, confused as to what would upset her so, her eyes stung with tears trying not to break down in such a public space as she left the city walls.

Nonstop she ran the tears breaking free once out of the sight of the people, her marine blue gaze catching the sight of someone in the fields nearby. A boy with green hair flowing in the wind was sitting by his lonesome staring into the clear blue sky.

up to his waist in the grass, they danced around him, moving at the pace the wind set.

"Isn't that," Her voice trailed off, wiping her tears as she stared at the boy, a sense of familiarity washing over her as she stared from a distance. "The boy from the candy store."

Hesitantly she took a step closer, hoping the fence to reach him, her strides slow, soon picking up the pace until she was right next to the boy, who didn't notice her presence, his mind still in a daze.

"Hey," She whispered tapping his shoulder,

"huh??" he exclaimed moving back a bit in surprise, soon lowering his guard once he saw who it was.

"You ok? You seem," Damara's voice trailed off trying to choose her next few words carefully, though her mind was clouded by her own problems.

"Lonely?" Levi completed her sentence after realizing she was having a bit of trouble.

"Yeah, lonely," Damara muttered, her hand grabbing the hem of her dress, her eyes looking down on it with furrowed eyebrows overhead.

"Well, I am alone for the week, so you're not too far off," Levi continued, looking at her with eyes of concern. "What about you? What's a princess doing all the way out here?"

"I just wanted to be alone for a while," Damara responded sitting in a fetal position, half her face covered by her skirt.

"Yet you come to me," He pointed out, mimicking her posture to look her in the eye, "Why is that?"

"I don't know, you just seemed like a good person to talk with," She sighed, just as confused by her answer as Levi, soon turning to him with a soft smile, tears still fresh in her eyes. "Will you humor me? just or a bit?"

Levi nods, her contagious smile forming on his face, soon turning to face the sky, both of them resting in the fields.

"Damara!" Liam shouted as he walked through the streets looking for his sister, the other kids from the castle behind him had a guard by their side.

"Damara!" The prince with brown hair shouted, his hands covering his mouth to pitch his voice as far as possible but it was no use, there was no response.

"Do you think she got kidnapped?" the prince with silver hair spoke.

"Prince Felix, please refrain from making such comments," The guard uttered their voice laced with surprise at the prince's bold words.

"I'm just saying, it is a possibility is it not?" Prince Felix continued, his gaze falling upon Liam with a smile.

Liam turned around his eyebrows furrowing with anger, hands balling into fists as he approached him.

"If you don't want to help, just go back to the castle, we don't need you speaking about my sister in such a manner!" He shouted, Prince Felix not batting an eye at his outburst only shrugging his shoulder.

"I am helping you, aren't I? I'm just speaking the possibilities, someone needs to keep the group grounded after all,"

Liam gritted his teeth his hand raised in the air to hit him but he was stopped by the guard, who shook his head slowly, no matter how much he tugged against him he could never reach Prince Felix or even touch him for that matter.

"I mean you were in tears when you couldn't find your sister on your own, and you came begging for our help so why do you discriminate how I do so, beggars can't be choosers now can they?"

"Hey stop this, it's pointless to argue over something so small just drop it for now!" The prince with brown hair spoke up to break the fight only for Prince Felix's daggered gaze to be turned on him.

"Yeah, we need to keep looking right away," The girl with hair like Felix's spoke up.

"Hannah, Braeden stay out of this," sighed, "This is none of your concern."

Braeden glared at him, though he kept quiet not wanting to raise the situation any more than it already has been.

"You know what? you're right," Liam muttered, "Beggars can't be choosers, so I'm no longer begging, leave, now I no longer want your aid!"

A crowd started to form at the commotion, murmurs spreading as their gazes locked on them.

"Please, sir Liam calm down you're making a scene," The guard whispered in his ear.

"If that's how you really feel, I'll take my leave, I couldn't care less if she was dead or alive," Felix walked away, leaving the group.

"H-hey wait for me!" Sylvia shouted out running after him.

"Wait sir, you need an escort!" The guard shouted out but their cry was cut off by the prince.

"The castle is close enough we'll be fine!"

A deafening silence fell over them as they stood there staring at the backs of Sylvia and Felix, Liam soon turned around in a huff and marched down the street leading the way. Braeden and Felix's sister stared at him from behind in concern.
