'You gotta be shitting me right now,' Icarus Estrella, now known as Wu Lin, thought as he looked around him.

Children.

Mature-looking children, sure. But still children.

Then, standing in front of the auditorium style classroom, is a busty, promiscuously dressed red-haired woman with an arrogant expression on her face.

'No, this can't be real! I just died, I want to rest in eternal slumber! God, that arsehole, how dare it reincarnate me! Once I...'

While Wu Lin rambled in his mind, a person returned to the past into his young self. The space-time and soul fluctuations that he had created caught Wu Lin's attention. Looking down, he saw a familiar orange-haired young man.

'Second timeline, huh,' Wu Lin thought, as he went to relax a little.

He was well-aware of where he reincarnated in, as God sent him here because it can. To be honest, he sort of expected God to be like that, so he wasn't surprised but neither was he excited in being here.

'Oh, well...'

Wu Lin leaned on his chair, and waited for the show to start. He didn't have to wait that long, as Nie Li's verbal battle with Shen Xiu began.

Soon, it came to an end. Nie Li made a bet with Shen Xiu, and was sent to stand at the back.

Sighing loud enough for the crowd of students and teacher to hear, Wu Lin rose from his seat and followed Nie Li to back, receiving to the bewilderment of many and Shen Xiu's ire.

Smiling, Wu Lin said, "Oi, Mr. Future Legend Rank. I'll stand at the back with you, don't forget to return this favor in the future."

"I don't forget favors, Wu Lin," Nie Li said with a smile of his own.

"Good, good! I don't like slandering people, but promise breakers are an exception," saying that Wu Lin stood a meter to the left of Nie Li.

The two's interaction, Wu Lin in particular, sounded a bit hilarious, making a number of students chuckle. Heck, Shen Xiu's ire on Wu Lin seemed to have vanished after hearing their interaction. She thought that he was doing this out of ridicule to Nie Li rather than standing against her with Nie Li.

'Wu Lin, that name, it sounds familiar,' Shen Xiu thought as she glanced at the papers on her desk.

Soon, Nie Li's gang joined him at the back, and Shen Xiu continued on with her lecture.

"After being tested, among the students in this class, Ye Ziyun has a cyan soul realm with a soul force of 86, and both Shen Yue and Xiao Ning'er have a soul force of 78. They'll soon reach 1-star Bronze Rank. Congratulations to them!" Shen Xiu said. Her gaze fell on Nie Li for a moment.

Hearing Shen Xiu's words, most students cried out in surprise at the revelation.

Shen Xiu continued, "However, there's one other student with high potential, although his soul realm grade isn't that high, it's considered as a cut above the others.

Hearing this, noble students with yellow soul realms became excited and gained proud looks on their faces.

"That person is Wu Lin, he has an orange soul realm with a soul force of 70. Not that far from a green soul realm genius," Shen Xiu said, smiling as she looked at Wu Lin.

The students who knew Wu Lin but didn't know about this were shocked and looked at him in awe while the proud nobles lowered their heads but couldn't help but look at him in awe as well.

Despite this, Wu Lin looked indifferent as if he was deep in thought.

Shen Xiu's lecture continued while Nie Li discussed things with Du Ze and Lu Piao.

A bell sounded throughout Glory City, indicating the end of school hours.

The students of Holy Orchid Institute rushed out of the huge gates, and into the bustling street in front.

Wu Lin looked around with no clear intentions in mind, he's just waiting for an invitation from Nie Li.

"Yo, Wu Lin!" Nie Li said, coming from beside Wu Lin.

"Oh, what is it?" Wu Lin asked, turning his head to Nie Li. He was a full head taller than the time traveler, so he had to looked down a bit

Nie Li leaned his head a little and whispered, "I have a method of earning a good amount of demon spirit coins in under a week."

"Is it hunting demon beasts in the training G

ground? We're not even at Bronze Rank," Wu Lin whispered back, pretending to be uninterested.

"With this method, we don't have to defeat demon beasts through direct combat," Nie Li whispered, his voice full of confidence.

Pretending to think of it a little, Wu Lin said, "Sure, I'll follow along. I don't have other things to do than training and reading, to be honest."

"That's good! Come on, let's go!" Nie Li said, smiling as he gestured for him and the other two behind him to follow along.

Wu Lin felt a little strange but he noticed nothing unusual with Nie Li and the people around him, so he decided to think of it later, and followed Nie Li alongside Du Ze and Lu Piao.

Nie Li couldn't help but smile at his situation. Not only has he returned to the past, which has given him the chance to change the future, he also sort of had recruited Wu Lin on his side.

Thinking about that, his confidence in taking down the Sage Emperor rose.

Wu Lin was one of Glory City's greatest geniuses, a good friend of Nie Li, and was Chen Linjian's sworn brother in the past.

If his hunch is right, then Wu Lin could be the reincarnation of a person who fought against the Sage Emperor in the forgotten past.

It might be a mere hunch, but it didn't come from nowhere.

Nie Li had travelled enough in the Draconic Ruins Realm to meet genuine oracles. One of the oracles he had met was a deer demon beast of the ancient bloodline, it said that a person sacrificed himself in order to protect him and others; if that person hadn't protected them, then he would've become a greater existence than him.

It didn't take long for him to figure out who that person was.

'This time, I'll return the favor,' Nie Li thought, determined to change the future of Glory City and his comrades.

After informing Lu Piao and Wu Lin what to buy, he and Du Ze went to purchase certain herbs.

Back to Wu Lin.

'This is interesting, the novel didn't mention this,' Wu Lin thought while looking at the sack that Nie Li gave Lu Piao, it had a peculiar smell to it.

But then again, God is God, so Wu Lin doubted think that it'll send him to the Tales of Demons and Gods he was familiar with. If this was the novel he familiar with, then Nie Li would've recruited the original Wu Lin.

Even if the original Wu Lin wasn't that good, he can be enlightened like Long Yuyin.

"Here," Nie Li said, a belt bag filled with three bottles. "Don't spill the bottles, it's important."

"I figured so," Wu Lin said, as he put on the belt bag. He brought his crossbow from home, so he didn't have to waste his savings on a new one.

"Let's go," Nie Li said, leading the group to the training ground.

Their trip to their hunting spot took a while longer than what Wu Lin and the other two had anticipated, which was about 30 minutes, as Nie Li told them he knew a good place. The place being a large clearing secluded by thicker than normal foliage, something that most Bronze Rank students wouldn't attempt to go through.
