The door closed ominously behind Lisa's back, and she felt a shudder pass through her body.
She did not dare look at the woman standing before her, but Clara had no intention of letting Lisa get away with what had happened.
Each second that passed seemed to tighten the invisible noose around Lisa's neck until she could bear it no longer, and the words spilled out of her.
"It is not my fault! I promise I did not mean to attract any attention. Your boss is not even someone I like."
Lisa snapped, but she quickly shut herself up.
The more she spoke, the more likely she was to anger Clara by saying something she should not have.
Luckily, Clara was not her mother, and she had better temper control than her mother.
"I know that you do not want to impress our boss. That is why I did not snap your neck when we left the room. If you want to keep it attached to your body, then continue to behave this way and keep yourself out of sight."
