An NPC Challenges the Dark Lord(LN)

The universe is ruled not by the gods but by one player Yami. Yami is in search for every skill and has embarked on a path to prevent any other player from becoming as powerful as Yami. Yami is the top player of "Endless Probability", currently the #1 RPG Game on Earth. Later on, the gods become fearful of Yami's creativity with the "endless" mechanics of the game and thus plan to destroy Yami as the Dark Lord grows stronger eliminating players considered as a threat. The gods then figured out to hide Yami's hopeful demise through an NPC. The gods' plan is not guaranteed.

A Thinking Lord of Time

I'm only allowed to investigate. I should not change what's already occurred.

Pftt, Actually there are no consequences. I'll just plant a clone to continue living in this timeline.

Here comes the 9 heroes...and villains? Oh yes.

The Game's regional level and world level tournaments don't discriminate against players or AI that lean more to evil. It's stupid though to feed AI "adventurers" to real adventurers to make them feel good about winning.

This explains the participation of the Demon Lord's son. I've forgotten who was the Demon Lord in this generation...

This was a time when the Demon Kingdom was stronger than the other four combined in terms of military power.

I think back in the present Errd the Kingdom of the Angels seemed stronger. The new leader is Lucifer or Queen Lucy as he...she...disguises to be.

Game God explained to me before that Lucifer is a special NPC that "runs free". There's only ONE Lucifer and players are not allowed to have a username exactly as one of The Myths' names.

In order to make the game much better than other games, Game God updated 'The Myths' to free roam with AI I've never seen.

They don't stay stuck in a single place waiting to be defeated by players like most typical 'Stage Bosses' in adventure games. Many fans of the game complained that popular and familiar characters just stay put in one place like any other game and their wish was granted in the worst way possible.

After the update released, around 100,000 players returned to level 1 by the hands of Lucifer alone. Lucifer disguised himself very craftily across worlds and found pleasure in 'freely' eliminating the weak.

I practically begged Game God to reverse the free will of these NPCs but the Ratings for the game went up after the update.

Many old players returned to look for and battle The Myths like Lucifer and appreciated the fact it didn't feel like an 'area-clearing' game wherein one just completes Stage #X and gets 3 stars for clearing that stage.

Some preferred the summoning part thinking its to their advantage being able to summon any of The Myths in the desired terrain to gain the environment advantage. Some preferred giving hours of grinding effort looking for them and they usually die first.

I thought of something unimportant and wasted some time. Bad Lord of Time.

The Kingdom of Beasts though was about to have equal military power as the Demon Kingdom and so The Great War had to happen waged by 4 kingdoms against one.

Mind control can be masterfully used by one insane enough to handle war.

I'll admit that I once started out in this world of Errd but grew bored. I came back for the war but...I did not help.

I watched the Great War. I wanted to know the outcome and how the outcome was achieved. I might watch the whole thing again with my newfound skills to better understand the war.

For now, the objective is to watch the Undead Kingdom. A place without class that the God of Builders should've remodeled.

These ungrateful undead do not even know that I slayed the Titan that spawned this tomb.

Well it's back when bosses got coffins after dying but that became a huge mess when a player who called herself the Puppet Master commanded many of the game bosses for her own goal. I could not beat her alone.

And Thus as Game God's trustworthy intelligent companion, we heavily nerfed the Summoner and Necromancer class. Now that I'm stronger...I wouldn't mind the return of my past rivals. My levels will be way above them anyway.

Perhaps I'll just cast a spell that will give me the information I've come for.

Nope. Boring. Let's spy. I have enough mana to hold Time Stop for an Earth year. I'll cast invisibility incase and hover over this gloomy kingdom.

"Undead King, the contestants have arrived!"

The royal guards of this kingdom are weak.

"Alright send them to the labyrinth below."

That's secret number one I guess. A Labyrinth Test for determining the champion?

Ah I thought I'd end up watching 9 AI/players reach the 100th floor but they are already dead in the first floor.

"First floor defense looks good my king!"

A skeleton with mastery of the dark magic? Clearly the undead king can tell it wasn't the Cthulhu's Skull that defeated the 9...It was that skeleton mage.

"Good. One day this underground Labyrinth will rise to be our new kingdom. This kingdom will be higher than any other castle."

That's technically true as the Great Library has 10 floors which is the the largest "castle" in terms of floor count.

"Floor 70 is still under construction?"

"Yes Undead King. Which champion shall we send for observation?"

"This time send that Cthulhu's skull. Give it a body. Mechanized or skeleton."

I see they've implanted red eyes on their champion. Most likely a ruby that can be connected by.

"The champion looks fine. There's no need for a body."

But that was a direct order from the king which means?

"Yes Dark Lord."

"Yes. I'm the only one left We must hurry with the preparations for ruling Errd."

"Yes Dark Lord Douglas."

The Undead King is this weak? Majestic purple robes and a gold crown of precious gems for someone this weak?

Mind control should not even work for a King because their resolve is strong.

Blasphemy cannot exist.

Now I have a good reason to wipe out the Undead Kingdom. The dark mage is foolish to claim that title.

I'll leave a 1% clone to continue investigations and give it Perfect Will and cast Trapped in Time. I'll have a chat with the clone some other day.

(Some skill explanations...)

[1% clone: A clone that inherits 1% each of the caster's major stats.]

[Perfect Will: Clones with this skill will inherent every equipment, skill and stat from their master and slowly regenerate their lost hp until it is the same as the caster's hp.]

[Trapped in Time(Lord of Time 4th Active Skill): Any entity will be trapped in a certain timeline forever ensuring no further harm to other timelines. Only the Lord of Time can escape.]

[Clone Destruction: By will of one ranked as clone grandmaster, the clone will die regardless of clone's skills.]

(Flashback, a question from Game God...)

"Yami? You could wipe out the Undead Kingdom and create one. You do complain about aesthetics of nation-building but can you really build a beautiful kingdom? It will also help me discover which race you admire most."

"I bet the Throne Room I'll build will have more than three objects."

"You'll cheat by placing the same statues in a straight line along the red carpet. Then you'll say that you finally made the best Throne Room."
