INFINITE STORAGE SPACE

In the dimly lit cave, a figure of a young man  sitting on his knees can be seen, he had one of his hand reached out to the empty ground, looking stunned. Time moved forward in its own untamperable pace. Waiting for no one.

" What the..."

He couldn't determine the head or tail of the strange events happening to him. He took back his hand and placed it in his chin, closing his eyes, Pondering hard to understand the situation clearly. After sometimes his eyes suddenly shot open, as if he got an epiphany.

He wasn't shocked because the strange pouch disappeared somewhere. He was shocked because he knew where it had disappeared to. Yes he knew exactly where it had gone.

When the 'eight' mark - no, it was in fact an infinity  symbol (∞) - appeared, his mind was connected to a strange and mysterious space. It was very similar to the feeling when one's mind is connected to the space inside the interspatial storage rings. It's just that the space inside is not limited to few cubic meters, instead it stretched to the horizon. It seems to be infinitely wide. But the feeling it gave is far greater and profound than that of the normal storage rings. It's like the laws governing the space is that of a higher level, and a very much higher one at that.

The seemingly dissappear pouch is currently lying in that space. There was nothing else there. Its different from the small pocket dimensions inside the storage rings, Instead it appeared like it was completely independent and detached from the material world.

What surprised him along with the existence of the strange space is that, in his mind he already knew of its existence and the way to access it. When he transferred the pouch to the space, it wasn't something he planned to do beforehand, instead it was more like an act of instinct, Like he had already done it hundreds if not thousands of times before. After careful contemplation he arrived at several possible theories. The most likely scenario is that the forced fed information in his brain is in fact stored in different layers or levels of  consciousness. For example the way he accessed the mysterious space and the fact he understood the language written in the books and the things like money and its value that he got from the spatial ring, he did all that without much of a thinking, like reflexes. It was like he was someone lived in this world for some years and already knew the basics by heart. Those info must have been carved into his instinctual level consciousness.

It's like tutorials in game, when you encounter the situation for the first time, the method to deal with it will be revealed automatically. But in order to access the information that are stored in the deeper level, a high mental strength is required.

" Well, an unlimited storage capacity is an overwhelming advantage, and will come in handy when the situation arise. I don't know how time inside of the space is related to the outside. Guess I have to do some experiments before any concrete answers. What about transporting in living beings? Since it seems to be much higher level than the normal, seemingly unlimited storage space shouldn't be the only perk it should have right? Maybe I can keep living things inside, or hide myself over there. But I guess nothing much can be done anyway, at least for the moment. Might as well stop wasting my time any longer."

He pushed all the thoughts concerning that matter to the side. And started planning out his next course of action. He was eager to get out of the cave earlier when he found himself stark naked inside it. But with the unexpected and fruitful gain he obtained he became much more level headed and decided to consider his current situation more carefully and raise his chances at survival.

" Normally my first concern should be food, but thankfully for some reason I am full of energy and won't be needing any for some time. So the first thing I have to make sure is that I can survive after getting out of the cave. Considering that no one had came inside the cave for years means that the cave must be fairly deep inside the forest. I need to have enough strength to get out of the forest safely. Without a map it is guaranteed to be dangerous. I can only rely on my luck for picking the right direction. Hope I can meet people soon. Not the dangerous ones of course. "

" I should have a name to go by. Better choose one now than making one up in between a serious conversation . I always have been terrible in character naming. "

Sitting on the ground, Taking a thinking posture, He started to consider various suitable names, unable to pick one. The names he thought of mainly consist of movie and anime characters. In the end he just decided to gave up and stop wasting time.

" Guess I'll have to choose my real name after all. At least for my first name. I can think of a cool sounding last name later. If I want to I can change my name anytime. Not like it's a crime or anything. Most isekai mc's use fake names all the time after all. So it's just 'Lee' for now. Man, I really suck at this."

Now that the name problem is settled, Lee decided to focus on rising his strength and chance of survival.

He started to meditate. Trying to feel the spirit energy in the surroundings. Yes, he started to cultivate. And without any surprises, the basics of cultivation was already engraved in his brain. Just when he thought about starting cultivation, he already knew what to do.

In this world, humans start cultivation at the average age of 10. There may be 1 or 2 years difference. Some children will be able to feel the spirit energy a bit earlier than the others and some late than the others. It depends on the time taken for the spiritual veins to take form in their body. Some people believe that it is related to the talent one possesses. i.e the earlier the spiritual veins form, the more talented they will be and vice versa. But it is just a mere conjecture without any solid proof. 1 or 2 years difference will only be of any significance in the very early stages of the cultivation. But it is almost certain that if one doesn't form the spirit veins by 15, they very likely not able to afterwards, they will be normal ordinary humans. The number of ordinary people in this world is not at all low. In fact it is a lot more than that of the cultivators.

Before someone start to sense their surroundings they'll start to sense themselves more clearly. When Lee inspected his own body he was startled to realise that it wasn't exactly the same as before coming to this world. He opened his eyes and took out a mirror, which was once belonged to the corpse, before he became like that of course. He observed the changes in his body. There wasn't much of a change in the appearance. Just got younger by a few years. Now he looks like he just became 18. The facial features are fine compared to before. The body is more fit compared to the original one that belonged to an introvert - which couldn't exactly be called fat even back then.

" I completely forgot about this usual perk. Stronger I get more handsome I will be." There wouldn't be any single person who will not be happy, at least a bit, about looking good.

" Seriously! What am I so complacent about. Having a cute face shouldn't be the least of my concerns right now. It ain't going to help me save myself from the hungry beasts or anything." He berated himself and whined.

"Aaah, It's just one distraction after the other. Back to work. "

...................................

Lee began to once again focus on cultivation as he shook his head and lightly slapped both his cheeks. Then just like before he started to feel the energy flow of the surroundings, trying to communicate with the world.

The concentration and quality of the spirit energy around the cave wasn't anything to boast about. It really does not have anything much to offer, maybe that's why neither any magical beasts nor any other cultivators didn't bother to care about this place for years. This could also mean that the area near the cave does not have any dangerous beasts living in it and it should be comparatively safe. A perfect place to hide and lay low. Nevertheless, compared to nothing it still was something . After all a 'one' is still much better than a 'zero'. And just like that, Lee took his first baby - step in his adventurous journey of cultivation.
