Max Sully lowered his eyes in silence, not believing that a man like Joshua Sulliven would easily agree to anything. And when he thought of the scene at the banquet last time, he couldn't believe Joshua would treat her kindly from the bottom of his heart!
"Max!" Keira frowned slightly, wondering why this man was even more stubborn than Joshua Sulliven. Couldn't he see the pros and cons of the situation?
"I understand," Max said at last, after a long silence.
Keira nodded, finally feeling relieved.
They chatted casually for a while before she found a doctor to check on his condition. Once she confirmed he was out of danger, she left the room.
As she walked into the lobby on the 1st floor of the hospital, she saw a somewhat familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.
