Chapter 56

"Damn Kid." Edward said as he looked the area around him. Ice spikes and shards littered the baseball field along with deep slashes in the ground. His eyes then looked at the white haired and blue eyed young man who was had pieces of frost on his face in the form of sweat. He could feel his own heart pumping due to the kid actually making him work. "I'm gonna be honest. I didn't think you could keep this up for this long. It's been what 30 minutes or an hour now?" He said as wind surrounded both of his legs lifting him off the ground by a few inches.

"Why the hell are you still talking?" Kennedy said in tired grunts as he was getting tired. His brother and sister had put him through hell. Or that "Old Dumont Tough Loving," as Francis would call it. He could hear his brother twisted laughter fill his head as he thought about it. However, fighting this man was weird. He was relaxed but precise with his acts. "He's calm and collective, yet he's taking this very serious. " He thought to himself as he looked at the tip of his fingers. They were shaking and turning slightly blue.

"Yeah. I guess it's been that long." Edward said as he scratched the back of his head for a moment. He then used the wide on his feet to hover to the right, and quickly made his way to Kennedy. It looked like he was roller blading to him with his feet at an angle to have the wind push him toward his target.

"You're definitely not like your brother, but you are strong. I guess that's not surprising since you are a Dumont." He said taking his right hand and forming a gun. Air quickly gathered around his index finger and rapidly began to spin. His hand jerked a little as he fired compressed spinning air bullets at his target.

Thinking fast on his feet, Kennedy stomped his right and a think wall of ice rose to cover him from the incoming "bullets." He could hear the thumps of the bullets hitting the ice and see the cracks beginning to grow. He took his left fist and slammed it into the wall. Instead of hurting his hand, the wall of ice began to charge at Edward.

"Whoa." the words left his mouth as he pulled his forward almost in a crouching position as the ice nearly slammed into him. He smirked as he placed his feet on the ice and began to run up the wall. As he approached the top of the ice, air quickly surrounded his hand and fingers taking the form of a ball. With one mighty push and gust of wind, Edward pushed him up into the air and did a front flip.

"Gotcha," Kennedy smirked as he gripped a now ice blue hand. He thrusted his balled hand forward in a open palm and a thick pillar of ice shot from it. The pillar was as thick and wide as a small bug car and was moving fast enough to engulf Edward.

As Edward finished his spin, he used another gust of air to push him upwards just missing the pillar by inches. Using the ball of air in his hand, he grind against the surface of the pillar before switching to his feet to surf the column to Kennedy, who watched dumbfounded in shock. All the while a smirk rested on his face.

"What the fu-"

The words barely filled Kennedy thought before he was met in the face by Edward's special made shoes. The connection made Kennedy stumble back not completely falling but certainly dazed. As he tried to focus, he was hit by a sudden blow from Elric left handed uppercut that sent him into the air.

"Shoryuken." Edward yelled as he watched as kid was sent flying into the air by him. He quickly realized that the kid might hurt himself on the fall down and quickly inhaled some air that caused his chest and diaphragm to rise. He quickly exhaled and a gust of air blew out and caught the young man from landing on the ground hard. As he stopped, Kennedy landed on the ground a little softly.

"Whoo. That was a close one." He said before lightly jogging over to the kid. Edward knelt down next to Kennedy and began to slap him on his face. "Hey Kid. Hey Kid. Guess what?" He said with a big smile.

"Huh?" Kennedy said fully out of it.

"You got knocked the fuck out." A big smile came across Edward face as if he was wanting to say that for a long time.

"Uh huh."

A chuckle left Elizabeth mouth as he watched as she kid passed back out. Without saying another word, he grabbed the kid by his arms and lifted his limp body up. Taking a look around, and seeing the ice was starting to melt, Edward began to carry the unconscious kid to his car. A soft whistle came from his mouth as he made it to his car.

After placing the boy, in his back seat and closing the door, Edward smiled as he went to group his driver door. He then came to a dead stop as he realized he could see his breath and the hair on the back of his neck stood tall. "This energy and presence." He thought to himself as he looked at his mirror and saw it was freezing over. He quickly turned around and tried to fire an air bullet but yet out a yell as his hand was covered in ice.

"Fuck." He let out as the intense pain and freezing shot up his arm. He could feel his fingers going numb as he fell to the back of his car in a mixture of pain and chuckles. "I was wondering when you were going to show up." He said as he watched the ground next to start to freeze around him.

The sound of soft feet touching the ground along with the cracking of ice forming over different surfaces filled the parking lot as a figure in a white dress and cap gracefully moved towards Edward. The woman appeared to look like a moving ice sculpture with no cracks or breaks in her skin. Her pupils and hair were as white as snow as a crown made of ice resting on her head. She was wearing a long elegant dress with frost that resemble fur on her shoulder that connected to the cap that dragged behind her. She had an eight pointed snowflake that extended from her neck like a necklace. Her face had dark blue makeup with a single dot under both eyes. While no expression was visible, her eyes were very lively for a being made of ice.

As she came to a stop her eyes looked down at Edward, and then smoothly turned her attention to the filed at the melting ice and damage on the field. She slowly turned her attention back to the man on the ground slowly backing up. "Why are you after my husband?" She spoke towards him. While her voice were ice cold, once could hear concern and worry in her voice.

"I'm gonna guess your Jessyka Mane," he asked while trying to move out of the coldness. He then looked up at her for a moment and felt a since of deja vu. "I..I'm sorry. I know we are in a serious moment, but have we met before or hooked up." He asked using his free arm to scratch his head. He heard her softly titter at him.

"I'm afraid we haven't met before now. You must be referring to one of my sisters." She told him with a soft smile. Her eyes then landed on the back window of his car to see her husband was.

"He's alive. Unconscious, but alive." Edward said as he tried to get back to his feet. "Look, I'm gonna be real. I didn't come to fight but deliver a message. I will admit I might have pushed him a little."

"It's only natural. He was always head strong when it comes to me." Jessyka said in a very caring voice. She leaned over to place a hand on Edward's car, but stopped to focus back on him. "I don't know how much his parents are paying you but we are not going back. I will fight you, if I must." She said as she slowly got into a fighting position, but stopped when Edward raised a hand.

"Cool your tits, Nora. I didn't come to fight..." Edward said then paused. "At first. Look, Elizabeth Homes wants to talk to you both." He said as he watched as the light in the frozen woman's eyes light up as a very surprised look came across her face.

"Auntie Lizzy wants to talk to us?" She said completely shock. "What's the problem? Is everything alright? Did something happen?" She moved closer bringing her hands together with worry in her voice.

"Everything is fine. God, you are cold." Edward said. He started to shiver and feel his body become very cold as the frozen woman got closer. He watched as she took a step back to give him space. "Look. It's been a long drive here, and I would like to warm up a little. Would it be cool if I rest up and explain everything in the morning?" He said waving his ice block hand around.

"Hmmm." She said thinking about it for a moment. "Very well then. You can stay with us for the night. Any friend of Elizabeth is a friend of ours." She said giving Edward a big smile.

"Great. Could you fix my hand, I'm really can't feel a thing." He said giving her his hand.

"Of course. It would be my pleasure." She said with a warm smile.
