Running away.

After undressing, Sean walked into the bathroom to stand in front of the mirror. Looking at his reflection, he admired his bronzed skin, defined abs, and sculpted physique. No matter how busy his schedule was, he never compromised on fitness. His face was also well-proportioned, with a masculine jaw and healthy-looking hair. He was flawless.

How could she, not fancy someone as perfect as he is? he thought to himself. He was perfect even when drenched from head to toe.

When Anna walked into the house, she saw Sean sitting at the long table. Unwilling to greet Sean, Anna planned to go straight upstairs.

"Stop right there. Where did you go so early in the morning?" The man's deep voice was heard coming from behind.

Anna turned around. "I went to have some doughnuts as I was hungry."

Bony came out of the kitchen with fresh piping-hot breakfast on the tray.

"Enjoy your breakfast. I will go upstairs," Anna said.

"Why did you let her go out to get breakfast? What's the point of me hiring you?" Sean chided Bony as soon as she came out.

Bony stared at the man with her mouth agape.

"What's wrong?" Sean snapped.

"Sorry, Sean. I didn't see Miss Anna when I woke up this morning." Bony explained.

After replying to Jean's message, Anna reached the ground floor on the lift and walked out of the building through the rotating doors. She stood by the roadside to flag down a taxi.

As cars rushed by her, a black Bentley suddenly drove by. It had only driven past her by a few meters when it decelerated and reversed.

The backseat car window facing Anna rolled down, revealing an angular face.

As he looked at Anna outside the windows, a sliver of emotion crossed his face. "Anna Hart, Can I talk with you?"

"Richard...." Anna stared at the face in the car that she had once looked at for more than ten years.

Elysium was the most luxurious nightclub in A City, and it operated on a membership system.

Sasha had always regarded places like this with disdain. Never did she think that one day, she would work as a waiter.

"Sasha, hurry up. Room 301 requested a bottle of Ace of Spades. Go in and serve the drinks," urged the manager, Camila Cook, as she nudged Sasha's back.

Balancing a tray of drinks with one hand, she pressed down on the gilded door handle and entered the room, her heart almost at her throat.

Suddenly, a deep male voice came from behind, hitting her like a bucket of cold water.

"Sasha Jones?"

Sasha with a stiff smile turned around and came face to face with Kelvin in a suit.

At that moment, there was only one word playing on repeat in Sasha's mind—Run.

Sasha ran away as if she had just seen a ghost. After making sure that she was hidden from Kelvin's sight, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Wait! Why am I running away?" Sasha questioned herself.

Sasha then returned to her apartment. She cleaned up her room before showering. After a shower, she was prepared to sleep when her phone rang.

The moment she answered the call, his face popped up on her screen. Richard's hair was damp. Looks like he probably just finished bathing.

Leaning against the bed frame, Richard gave a small smile. "Have you showered?"

"Yes," She replied. Touching her wet hair, she stared at the screen in silence.

"Did you drink?" She asked.

Still smiling, the man commented, "Yeah, I drank a little."

"Okay, since you're a bit tipsy now, you should turn in early," she advised.

"Yes, I will. But before that, can you leave your phone like that and turn the camera to focus on your face for now?"

"What...?" She flustered.

The whole time, Ryan was staring at her through the screen with an intense gaze.

Awkwardly, Sasha replied, "If there is nothing else, I'm hanging up."

"If you hang up, I'll just call again."

Ryan smiled cheekily. He was acting like a rascal, which was very much unlike his usual self.

Sasha got up when someone rang her doorbell. She already carried her phone to her door.

Although Ryan could not see who it was, the voice sounded like a mature man's voice.

Keeping his silence, he continued to listen.

"Ryan, I will call you tomorrow morning. Good night" Sasha hurriedly cut the call.

"Boss, What's up? Sasha asked the man who was standing in front of the door.

Sean looked at her for a couple of seconds, as he contemplated the best way to ask Sasha the question he had in mind.

He decided to ask anyway. "What reasons do you think...W-Why...What does it mean...a woman said that she would never fall in love with him?" Sean asked, his eyes fixed on Sasha as he waited for a favourable answer.

"Huh?" Sasha did not if she had heard right or if she didn't understand his question.

"Do you have an answer or not?" Sean snapped.

"Boss, women are precarious and delicate beings. Sometimes they may say they don't when they do." Sasha replied.

"Does it mean that she might fall in love with him?" He asked with a smile etched on it.

"Yes, maybe. Women Kind of like the chase, but then again it depends on the type of woman she is" Sasha said.

"Okay. Good night!" Sean said feigning a deflated sigh.
