"If the pot falls and smashes into pieces, who are you going to blame?" he asked her as he looked at her. At the same time, he pulled out a chair and sat down. His face was cold and indifferent.
She then decided to allow him to serve himself. She sat down and ate with chopsticks obediently.
"Me Wesley, Are you mad at me?" She asked as she took a brief look at him.
"Don't talk when you're eating." Sean voiced out.
Anna was speechless and she felt stumped.
After dinner when Anna saw that Sean was wiping his mouth elegantly, she planned to continue their conversation.
"Mr. Wesley, I will move out next week. Thank you for letting me stay." Anna said.
Sean stood beside her with an inscrutable look, his eyes intensely staring at her and slightly making her uncomfortable.
With his eyes locked on her, Sean took a step closer to Anna, making her shift uncomfortably. Her heart began to race, thumping hard against her chest when Sean took another and he was bowed standing so close to her...too close.
"Wh....what are you doing?" Anna asked nervously.
"Who was the guy who delivered the flower to you?" Sean asked.
Anna suddenly didn't know how to respond to his question. She can simply give a reply. Why does she feel like Sean might not like that answer and she also wouldn't like to see him sad or angry?
"Okay. Don't tell if you don't want to." He snapped and stormed out of the door without even sparing a second glance at her.
------
"Come in!"
Elsie opened the door, stepped in, and saw the dashing man working seriously at the desk. Golden rays of light poured into the room through the window and fell on him, making him look holy as if a layer of golden light showered upon him.
While she was dumbstruck at the sight, Ryan lifted his head and met her eyes which were filled with admiration. Then, he asked indifferently with furrowed brows, "Why are you here?"
"I thought you must be very busy after coming back from a business trip. So, I specially asked my chef to prepare your favourite food and brought it here because I'm worried you'll skip your meals," she said, opening up the food warmer and spreading the food across the coffee table in the office to display her virtuous side.
However, Ryan was unmoved by any of it and turned her down emotionlessly. "I'm sorry, I have a meeting."
He then grabbed his jacket on the back of his chair and walked away from his desk, leaving her standing alone in the spacious office with an unpleasant expression.
Meanwhile, Sasha sat down in front of her Aunt who was sleeping and carefully wiped her face.
"Aren't you tired to come over to the hospital at this hour after having worked the entire day?" Natalie queried.
Just when she was about to reply, the door to the ward was abruptly pushed open. She thought it would surely be a nurse who was here making her rounds considering the late hour, but her expression instantly froze upon glimpsing the person who came in.
Ryan? Why is he here? And why would he come to her Aunt's ward?
The instant Ryan appeared, Natalie said with an apologetic expression, "Sasha, I am so sorry I didn't tell you. Your boyfriend came to the hospital today and told me that he'll bear my mother's hospital bill and also help find the best physiotherapist."
Without a word, Sasha spun around and left in a flash. However, Ryan followed behind her steps quietly.
----
Upon seeing her expression, Ryan frowned and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Ryan, I want to be alone." Sasha turned around to leave after saying that weakly.
Out of the blue, She sensed a restraining force on my arm. With a yank, Ryan pulled her into his embrace and hugged me tightly.
Closing her eyes, Sasha pushed him away.
"Ryan, Did I ask you to pay the hospital bill? I should be the one paying the hospital bills, not you."
"How? By working on the bar." Ryan's eyebrows knitted even tighter. "Sasha, I'm just helping you! Because I don't want to see my girlfriend suffering."
While saying that, Ryan's gaze was chilly and his expression grim.
"I will pay you back," Sasha said.
"Did I ask you to pay me back?" Ryan stared at her in bafflement, his expression flinty. The fury in his voice became all the more distinct.
Ryan didn't know why but her words caused a pang in his heart. He turned to look at her, with an expressionless look in his eyes.
Sasha opened her mouth to say something but her lips quivered.
"Never mind," Ryan said in a somewhat hurt tone before he headed toward the parking lot.
