Eda
My ears are ringing when I wake up. I blink rapidly as my eyes try to adjust to the light and I look around to see Osborn on the ground beside me.
I move over to his side and see that he has a black eye that can’t heal because of the poison they’ve used. I wonder if they took a cheap shot while he was unconscious or if he woke up and tried to fight.
The door opens, but we’re in a cell. I look up to see one of the workers that I recognize. He smiles when he sees me awake and says, “You did a great job, Eda, Master Wraith is proud of you.”
I hear Osborn’s voice and it’s deep yet it wavers when he asks, “What does that mean?”
I turn towards him, his eyes are blazing with fury and I can hear the worker suck in air between their teeth and then the door shuts as he leaves the room.
My body is frozen as I stare at Osborn. He pushes himself up off of the ground and stands, towering over me, as he states, “You betrayed me.”
My breathing is heavy as I say, “I can explain.”
