LIAM
I don't shift back to my human form, not even as I rush through the stairs, people screaming in terror when they see a large midnight black wolf racing through.
"I want to see my little bear, I want to see my little bear!"
Her voice reaches my ears and I run faster, bursting through the doors only to see my mom being held down by two nurses, as she struggles to get up.
I am growling, advancing them and they back away, letting her go. Their eyes are wide, as they slowly back away until they are pressed on the walls.
I can't hurt them, but I am not thinking straight right now either. I am registering their admissions as them hurting my mom, which puts me on the defense.
"My little bear, come to Mama."
My head turns to my mother, who has outstretched her arms, smiling at me.
She used to call me her little bear. That's me. She is calling me.
They weren't lying.
