Chapter 5- Training Dragon Energy 

What the old man said next, made him stunned and sink deeper into deep thought, the old man asked him a question he had never asked himself before, a simple yet very profound question.

"Why do you cultivate?"

"Why do you cultivate?"

This four words although said lightly rang in his head like a buzzing siren, he lied there stunned, forgetting about the pain, he pondered over this question.

Many people cultivated for many reasons, some cultivated to live a good life, have countless wealth and fame, some cultivated to carry out revenge, but it all depended on how strong and firm that resolve to cultivate no matter how ridiculous the reason was. 

This was called someone's Cultivation Way, when someone believed totally in that reason, they had started treading on that their cultivation way, and it was up to them whether they will continue marching forward on that lonely path, whether their resolve and belief would waver along the way, whether they could withstand the pain and loneliness of treading on that their Cultivation way without looking back or regretting. 

If a cultivator had all the talent in this world, hailed as monster, or son of the heavens, this and that, but without a correct and firm cultivation way, they will resemble a shooting star, their brilliance lighting up the world for only a moment then dying out later on.

This was how important a cultivator's cultivation way was.

Changlei Fang lied there as he sunk into a flashback from when he was six years old.

A woman was standing on a mountain peaks as she gazed to seemingly nowhere, lost in thought.

She was a very beautiful woman, she had willowy eyebrows over her enchanting eyes, with lips resembling cherry blossoms on her pale fair tender skin, as her black hair fell down to her waist, and she had a flawless mature charm that could captivate anyone looking.

'Don't worry, big brother Weiyuan, i am coming for you, then all those bastards who harmed you, i will behead all of them one by one'  her beautiful face shone with a ruthless expression.

"Mummy, mummy look at what i made" a childish boy that looked around six to seven years old ran into the scene.

As she heard that voice, her ruthless expression changed into a pampering doting expression as he fixed her gaze on the boy running.

"Mummy se-" the boy was running without any regards, as he didn't seem to see a stone in the ground, as he tripped and nearly fell, but before he could fall, the beautiful woman appeared in his front, and held him. 

She said with a stern face

"How many times will i tell you to stop running too much" she tried to fake being stern but her doting eyes betrayed all that.

"Am sorry mummy" the boy said timidly.

"it's okay, what's that in your Hand" she turned her gaze to the boy's hands and asked curiously.

"It's something i made all by myself" the boy showed a proud look.

It was a necklace but it lacked any creative design whatsoever and looked very crude with a very visible poor workmanship.

"Mummy take" the boy stretched his small hands as the woman took it. 

If she saw something anywhere else, she would have snorted in disdain seeing it,  but it was different as it was her son who had made this, she fondled and scanned the treasure like a precious artifact.

She looked at it and then the boy and beads of tears ran down her cheeks.

The boy shouted in surprise when he saw this

"Mummy why are you crying?, don't cry!"

This was the naive little Changlei Fang in the past, he liked staying with his mother and playing with her as this was his favorite hobby.

The love he had for his mother was more greater than most other children his age. But everything changed as his mother somehow disappeared without a trace.

He remembered that he had cried immensely that day, almost to the point of crying blood.

He snapped out of the flashback as he stood up abruptly, he gazed on the ceiling and shouted 

"AAAAAAHHHH!!!, i Now know why i cultivate!!!!!"

As his shout ended, scarlet qi rushed out from his body causing a bizarre energy to fill the cave, as even the ground cracked under the pressure.

The old man looked at Changlei Fang in surprise, he had initiated that question as it had been his trigger in the past, but he never imagined that it will actually work as he had little hopes to begin with.

Scarlet qi buzzed out of Changlei Fang as they became more concentrated in his arms, as his veins visibly shone red underneath his skin.

The old man said 

"The Dragon Energy Legacy Art is divided into what is called the 'torture stages', the complete destruction of your arm meridians serve as a torture, you need to experience hellish pain, you need to comprehend Your Own insights and develop this insights"

"This is where most ultras have failed, after all to think and meditate under the intense pain is virtually impossible"

"The ultra clan ancestor, the All Round Monarch comprehended his own insights on mental and will merger, where he was able to link his mind with the torture and enter a strange meditative state, where he was able to lessen the pain to a significant degree, and this was how he trained Dragon Energy"

"Many ultras have tried to follow this pattern, but how could it be so easy, personal insights can only be shared to be used as reference, but it couldn't be copied or used instead"

"But if you manage to develop your Own personal insights, then this can help you in the future tortures you might undergo"

"For instance, now your arm meridians are broken, if you succeed in comprehending Your Own insights, then the Legacy Art will mysteriously send you healing energy, then you can now create a perfect arm, with the Dragon Vein, you will become very powerful where a casual swing of your hands can shatter a small mountain, but if you fail to comprehend your insight then you will end up with crippled hands and that's all"

"i had wanted to create the divine soul by destroying half of my soul but i failed to comprehend my own personal insights causing me to enter a very weak state, with even some of my memories gone, and that was how i  ended up in this state"

Changlei Fang listened despite the soul tearing pain, he had to pay proper attention.
