Volume 8, Chapter 5: The Dragon Maiden (Ryuujo)
As the Explosive Dragon King Gouou, the Elder Tree Sage Jurojin, and the Masked Beast-Eared Woman stood frozen in amazement, an earthquake occurred.
"Hmm, the Dragon Maiden awakens at this timing."
Jurojin wore a bitter expression.
"To think it begins at the time when the 'Child of the End' has disappeared."
Gouou puzzled.
"What shall we do? Looks like that fellow must have truly quit being the 'Child of the End'."
"Whaaat? Is that even possible?"
"He lacks the motivation."
Jurojin replied to Gouou's question with a pale face.
"What about the Demon Lord?"
Gouou turned to the Beast-Eared Woman with irritation.
The Beast-Eared Woman seemed anxious.
"No way, could they really quit so easily..."
The Beast-Eared Woman said in a fluster.
"He probably quit willingly since he doesn't want to do it."
Jurojin sighed.
"This is bad. The Dragon Maiden, Ryuujo, has been slumbering for thousands of years in order to meet the 'Child of the End'. If she's not here, who knows what will happen."
Gouou exclaimed in despair.
"We'll be fine. Our Demon Lord will definitely accomplish the salvation."
The Beast-Eared Woman reassured.
"I hope that's true! If so, bring her here quickly!"
Gouou shouted at the Beast-Eared Woman.
"It might be impossible. The so-called Demon Lord might have misunderstood the fundamental nature of the 'Child of the End', who isn't human."
"Huh?"
The Beast-Eared Woman looked surprised.
"Well, it's more similar to us, in a way."
Jurojin continued.
"Huh?"
The Beast-Eared Woman was dumbfounded.
At that moment, the ground split open, and a green spherical object emerged.
The green sphere split to reveal an incredibly beautiful woman dressed in a lacy green dress-like garment.
She had waist-length blonde hair, aqua eyes, and horns resembling those of a kirin on her head.
It was the Dragon Maiden, Ryuujo.
Gouou knelt.
"It seems the time has finally come."
"Long time no see."
Gouou replied while still kneeling to Ryuujo's words.
"Yes, you've been waiting, and it's appreciated."
"Hah."
Gouou answered.
"So, what's that over there?"
Ryuujo began to fidget.
"What's the matter?"
"Are the Elder Tree Sage Jurojin and someone else here?"
Ryuujo blushed slightly as she asked.
Gouou and Jurojin exchanged glances.
"Which one are you?"
Ryuujo continued fidgeting.
"Well..."
Jurojin looked troubled.
"Please wait, Dragon Maiden Ryuujo-sama. There's someone we would like you to meet."
The Beast-Eared Woman said anxiously.
"Could it be about the 'Child of the End'?"
Ryuujo asked excitedly.
"No, the 'Child of the End' is now our lord, the Demon Lord's responsibility."
The Beast-Eared Woman blurted out.
Jurojin and Gouou stepped back.
"Fool, Dragon Maiden Ryuujo is at the highest level in this world..."
Jurojin trembled.
Ryuujo's eyes gleamed, and she moved past the Beast-Eared Woman. A massive explosion occurred over the sea dozens of kilometers away.
Seawater blown away in all directions rained down like rain, leaving the Beast-Eared Woman sitting in fear.
"What's going on?"
The intense killing intent caused Jurojin, Gouou, and the Beast-Eared Woman to tremble in fear.
