Everything that was said in most corners of the dining hall, Dex heard by eavesdropping with the ability of the rose demon. The more blood the little thing drunk, the more abilities it manifested. Long range listening was one such skill.
That was how he came to know that Ning Chu, the goddess of the second years had a crush on him.
"Huh, how did I not know that in my last life?" he asked himself.
He and Ning Chu had crossed paths a few times in his previous life in the school library. Two times, she had spoken to him and never once had he suspected that she felt something for him.
She left their kindgom for and joined a first level sect in the kingdom of Modera on an exchange program for strong and gifted students. When he last heard about her, she had been captured in the inter species war and sent to the orc king.
By then, she was a high mage while he was on his way to becoming a human emperor.
"Should I change her fate?" he asked himself.
She was certainly good looking, outstanding, strong, and worthy to be his woman. She didn't need to defend him against that brown haired boy, Julio, another of Zeb's loyal munchkins but she had done so.
"You, come here," he called over one of the other boys that had been looking at the boar meat and drooling for the longest time.
Like one whose entire existence was guided by gluttony, the boy jumped from his seat and scampered over quickly.
Dex divided the boar meat into three different portions.
"Take this to Ning Chu." he commanded. "When you return, you can eat this."
The boy curiously looked around first, disbelief hanging in his small oval eyes.
"Ningy Chu." he said unsurely as if he had heard the wrong name.
His pronunciation of the name was off, crooked, Dex thought.
"I said Ning not Ningy and everyone knows who she is, the second year goddess with the black eyes." He explained.
The boy's face paled a bit at the mention of Ning Chu's eyes but his gaze strayed back to the boar meat, and his nostrils flared at it's amazing smell.
"Right away boss." he said eagerly.
He carried the fattest portion of the boar meat, looking at it with so much affection as if it was his lover,
"He-he," he laughed in a silly manner.
"Don't drool." Dex warned him.
"Yes boss." he answered.
He turned around and walked, as other students looked at him. Had the rich handsome youth given someone some meat? What made that one more worthy than others?
Those who were stronger and greedier planned to sponge off the boy once he took a seat. Good things were not for the weak.
"Where is he going?" someone asked.
"Damn it, he is going over to the table with the three goddesses!!"
"How hateful!! does that rich guy think he can get the three goddesses with that small boar?"
The boy reached Ning Chu's table and placed down a tray with the meat.
"Hello Lady Ningy, boss..." he scratched his head, "Shit, I didn't ask for that guy's name."
Hana giggled and rolled her eyes.
What a fool!! Did he have to announce that he did not ask for the name.
"Uhm, the rich handsome boss told me to deliver this to you."
"Take it away, we don't want it." Bei-Bei said arrogantly.
"But you are not Ningy Chu, It's not for you." the boy blurted out.
"Huh!!"
The three girls responded collectively, in shock. Even those who were close turned around to take a look at the boy. Was he crazy to say that to the beautiful Bei-Bei.
And why did he keep calling Ning Chu, Ningy Chu.
"Who is this clown?" Hana asked.
Ning Chu pulled the tray of meat to her side with a smile.
"Tell him I said thank you."
"Yes lady Ningy Chu."
The boy turned around with a silly grin on his face and returned to Dex as a jolly fellow.
"Boss, she said thank you. I completed the task, can I have the boar now?" he asked.
Others were surprised and many gasps and whispers roamed around the dining hall.
"She accepted food from him, what does this mean?"
"Is food the way to go if one to court goddess Ning?"
"I am going to tell Zeb."
"Who is this bastard? I want to beat him up so badly."
Irrespective of the whispers, Dex acted as if he heard nothing, he even smiled arrogantly.
He pointed to the remainder of the meat and the boy sat down quickly. Just as his hands were about to touch the meat, he recalled where he was. This was the center, how could he sit here?
"He-he, I will eat from where I was sitting boss." He carried the meat away.
This red haired might be strong enough to sit there but he wasn't. He didn't want to be the unlucky one that was on the receiving end of Zeb's fury.
Dex didn't care, he had nothing to fear. Whether it was Zeb or some other meat head, they could all come and he would humble them all.
He was done eating so he pulled out a book from his space ring on fire magic. He would need some spells and skills to be a great fire mage.
