chapter 8 :The wait for uncle Richard.

' Alessia,may l come in'

Aunt Elvy was at my room door.l just didn't know what to do coz the broken vessels were lying on the floor.Aunt Elvy really wanted to ask me something but l really didn't want to open the door fit her so l had to cop up with an excuse.

' Ahhhh Aunt ,am still dressing up '

' Ok, it's fine. Do you have any idea of where Raphael and Nicole have gone '

' Aunt, Nicole has gone to Clara's house and Raphael went to a football match at Nelson Mandela stadium to watch a match '

' Ok, What about your uncle '

On hearing about uncle Richard,The broken vessels on the Plastic trophe fell to the ground, tears rolled from my eyes.

' Alessia, what's happening in there's

l rubbed my eyes quickly and answered.

' Aunt,every thing is fine in here . l just knocked down the glass of water but don't worry aunt , am collecting the broken pieces '

' Fine l will be leaving'

Aunt Elvy left . l felt so relieved coz her questions were too much for me to handle.l remained in my bedroom.Uncle Richard wouldn't have gotten tempted.If only l hard strongly said no I the first place ,uncle Richard wouldn't have gone further. l remained in my bedroom until l slept on a great deal UpTo 4:00 pm'.Only to be woken up by Nicole who had come back .So l had a shower and moved down stairs.Aunt Elvy was filling some of her company files .

Nicole had now gone to her room. l didn't have what to do after wards .l was done with my on line lessons. l thought that it would be of a great deal to help Leona in the kitchen.When l got in to the kitchen,l found Leona dinning chicken.Among those l stayed with ,none of them semmed bothered at all or notice that I was sad .My life was ruined and there was no one l could share what happened to me with .l tried to forget the past but it was impossible for me to forget what happened.When l entered the kitchen, Leona asked me this one question that puzzled me and l think the cutlery around .

' Alessia,you don't look fine, having any problem'

'What do yo mean'.

'l just asked how you are doin coz u don't look fine '

'No,Leona.I am perfectly fine.'.

Writer's POV

Leona was a plain as any other mind .she had a thin awkward figure,a swallow skin without a good colour she even had dark lank hair and strong features.she neither was a bad heart not had a bad temper. She was seldom quite, scarcely quarrelsome and very noble to her bosses.

It was already 8:00pm. But there weren't signs of uncle Richard.Everyone in the house was eagerly waiting for uncle Richard to come home while l prayed for him stay at his work place for good.Anyways it looked like my prayer had reached the heavens. Uncle Richard was known for coming late but this time,he had over delayed at work which was okay for me.It was now heading to 12:00 pm and he was no where to be seen.Raphael and Nicole soon got tired of waiting and went to bed.Ever since uncle Richard started dealing with drugs none of his family members seemed bothered about it even aunt Elvy her self.May be , because he didn't show the effect of drugs on him towards them .l didn't have to blame them coz uncle Richard hadn't sat next to them from the time aunt Elvy left for the village.He sat next to me which made me feel uncomfortable.l too got tired of waiting to see that he never returned and just walked to my bedroom.l left this unfortunate aunt of mine in the living room waiting for her horrible husband.When l got to my room,l left like something had gone wrong.l hurriedly locked all the doors and windows of my bedroom and fell on my bed but l didn't have sleep which was unusual coz l felt so sleepy downstairs.

' What if I chat with Ariel' l thought to myself coz truste she is online throughout.'Maybe I shouldn't' another thought popped in my mind.' l feel thirsty l think l should go and fetch my self water' l said as l got out of bed.l unlocked my door and walked to the balcony since it was right in front of my room.From the balcony ,l could see Uncle Richard sitting at the dinning table and having supper.Every time l saw uncle Richard,tears rolled down my eyes .His presence just reminded me of how desperate and needy l am. l looked down my pajamas to get a handkerchief to clean my tears ,my eyes and uncle Richard's eyes came into contact. l didn't want to stand at the balcony any longer and my thirst for water had inventualy gone.l turned heading toy room but then ,aunt Elvy saw me.

' Alessia, what's up why aren't you sleeping right now'

' Aunt,l felt thirsty and l thought of getting myself a glass of water.'

' Then, come get it.'

' No aunt, am fine now.'

' Okay,If you say so.Good night.'

' Lykwise aunt.'

As l was proceeding on my way to my bedroom,uncle Richard called out' Good night Alessia.'

This echoed in my ear for quite a while.l could not believe this.Even after what he did to me, he still had the nerves to say goodnight to me .What does he think of him self .l thought to myself.l just turned and walked to my bedroom.
