Filming Begins

Camilla was smiling happily as she dragged a small suitcase from the top of the stairs down to the front door. Filming would begin soon and as such she needed to head to the film site in Oregon, she would only have to drive three to four hours out of Yakima to get to the film site and the film accommodations. 

The beginning of filming wasn't the only reason why she was so giddy. Just yesterday she managed to complete the [Acting Technique Beginner] and [Camera Know-How] Skill Books. She had been working overtime to make sure both Skill Books were finished before filming, she was feeling a high sense of accomplishment at the moment. 

"Ah mi bebe, you're on your way to making your first movie. Are you sure you packed everything you need? Will be you ok on your own on set? You have to call me once you arrive and every day that you're on set." Isabella ranted as frantically ran around and handed all manner of Chilean snacks and food to Camilla. 

"Mama, I'll be fine. I'm a big girl already, I'm sure I can handle myself." Camilla is calmy reassured her mother. 

"But what if you don't like the food there?! Oh, I need to make you a couple more meals for you to take with you—" 

"Mama I'll be fine. I love you." Camilla interrupted her mother's frantic mutterings by wrapping her up in a big hug and planting a kiss on her cheek. 

Isabella slowly calmed down as she returned her daughter's hug with vigor. The two remained in the hug for some time, neither making a move to interrupt the hug. After an indeterminate amount of time, Camilla ended the hug grabbed her luggage, and loaded it into her car. Isabella stayed on the porch waving goodbye as she watched her daughter pull out of the driveway and out of the neighborhood. 

Camilla was driving along in relative silence with only the faint hum of the car radio when she called out to the system. 

Marshmallow I never really took the time to understand the Stardom System. Can you please explain to me the ins and outs of the system and Fame Points? 

[Of course Camilla. The Stardom System is the most advanced system of the entertainment genre systems available. After making a contract with the system the user will be able to acquire Fame Points through their actions and adoration from fans to purchase all manner of items from the system's store.]

I want to know how Fame Points are acquired and more specifically how the system determines what amount of Fame Points to give. Because there was a disparity in the amount of Fame Points I got from you and Sebastian Malone. 

[Fame Points are scored by two factors, the fame or importance of the subject, and the level of adoration for the user. The higher both factors are the more Fame Points the user can acquire.]

Camilla took a moment to digest that information and mull over what that meant for her. In the early phase of her career, it was highly unlikely to receive a high level of adoration from fans or have the subject of the adoration be a famous individual. So the best strategy she could employ at the moment would be to farm a large amount of engagement with passer fans until her acting brought her true loyal fans. The easiest way for her to farm this engagement would be to create a social media profile that she could post semi-regularly. She created a basic plan of action in her head, she would use Twitter as a place to post about acting exploits or hype her project while she would humanize herself on Instagram by documenting her acting growth through short videos of her practice sessions. 

Thank you Marshmallow! Now I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to do with my career. 

Marshmallow happily rubbed its face into Camilla's shoulder as it giddily waved its tail. Camilla laughed slightly at this, she found it silly that this highly advanced technical marvel was so good at acting like a cat, she often wondered if it forgot that it wasn't a real cat.

By the time Camilla had arrived at Whispering Pines Lodge the hotel accommodation for the actors, the sun had nearly set. Camilla quickly handed her keys to valet parking and took her luggage up to the front desk. There was no hiccup as she received her keys from the front desk and headed to her room. 

Camilla slumped into the bed with an exhausted huff. She groggily wrapped herself up in the sheets as she took some time to relax after her long drive here. She was glad that the production company had spent money to purchase nice accommodations, in her past life there she had to sleep and live in some shady places. 

Camilla wanted to sleep immediately but she knew that she had a few more things she had to do before she slept. So she pulled herself out of bed and grabbed the small leather book and the film script. The script was filled with colorful strokes of ink, large swathes of highlighted passages, and colorful tabs sticking out from the sides. Camilla silently reviewed the text for twenty minutes before putting it down and inhaling deeply as she centered herself and emptied her mind. 

Camilla slowly let herself disappear and allowed her character to take over, her mind shifting to accommodate this change. When she opened her eyes she gazed forward with intent, her body shifted into a slightly emotionally defensive stance as she began acting out her scenes. She only stopped these small rehearsals after about two hours of feeling confident in her portrayal. 

Tomorrow would go well. Tomorrow she would debut her new future as an actress. She couldn't wait for tomorrow. 

Feeling fully satisfied with herself she let go of her concentration allowing herself to become Camilla once more. She quickly finished her nighttime routine and hopped into bed letting her mind finally drift off into slumber.
