Chapter 6
"We normally spend our Sundays with our whole family, they come over here for the day" Alex munched on the popcorn as we watch a movie in their movie room.
"But Vin suggested more like ordered us to spend tomorrow with only us siblings. To get to know each other," he smiled at me for a second before turning his attention to the movie. It is about some trolls singing and dancing. They are really cute, I thought to myself.
Yes, I am 16 years old, but I never got the chance to ever watch animation movies. I was trying to survive each and every day. I was cooking and cleaning while other kids were playing watching cartoons created for them.
I do not want to think about it for now. I have to stay in the present, not in the past, I chided myself.
When I came back to reality the movie ended, damn, I did not get to see how the movie ended. I shall watch it later by myself then.
"Like the movie?" Alex asked right after letting out the biggest burped in my life so far.
I stared at him in shock, which made him smirk in pride. I shook my head as I walk past him.
"What, I love to burp, plus that was a hunger burp, I am hungry?" he rubbed his stomach with a pout.
"You literally finished a bucket of popcorn. I mean who makes a bucket of popcorn?" I pointed to the empty bucket that used to contain popcorn a while ago.
"That was 30 minutes ago," he smiled as he dragged me to the kitchen and made me to take a seat while watching him take things out of the fridge.
Half an hour later, a steaming plate of pasta was placed right in front of me. It has a wonderful fragrance.
"Woah, smells good, Alex" I give him a smile, as I started to dig in. The taste does not disappoint me.
"So, I noticed that no one in this house likes Figure Skating, can I know why, if you do not mind me asking" I spoke softly, and yet it still made him choke on his water.
"You deserve to know, after all, you are family, but do not tell anyone I told you this" he whispered. I nodded eagerly to know about it all.
"A few years ago, James was dating this woman. They were deeply in love. Suddenly one day, I am not sure why, but they had this big argument in front of us, and she left after it, not seen till now" he shrugged,
"What does that has to do with Figure Skating?" I asked confused not seeing the connection.
"She is a figure skater or was. Have not seen her in any more competition since then" he went back to eating his food, without me noticing he got a second serving.
This guy has a never filling stomach, I smiled,
"Yeah, his stomach is endless, he can keep eating 24/7" I heard a voice behind me, I turned to see that it was Vin. He was removing his tie as he walked towards the oven to see a plate of pasta in there. I was even more shocked at their nonspeaking yet understanding each other.
I hope, someday I can understand them without the need to speak.
"Ana, do you want to come with me to the park? I need to practice my skating skills" Alex beamed at me with hope. I nodded, I had nothing to do at home.
"Lets' leave now, Vincent wants home by dinner" he drags me out with one hand while the other was holding a skateboard.
We walked to the park which was five minutes away from their house. The park was beautiful and green. On the other side, the was a skate park. We walked towards it. Alex begin to practice his skill and tricks. They looked cool but I got bored of it soon. I told him I will be strolling in the park, to call me when he is ready to leave. He shouted okay.
I was watching kids running around while passing a ball between their foots. They look so innocent and genuinely happy. I wish I was their age as well. I can forget all the pain and redo my past.
"Seriously, you are not so strong now are you, without your friends" I heard a familiar voice. It cannot be.
I walked towards it to see, Alessio harassed by someone I used to know. I smirked as I walked towards them,
"Well, looks like you are no longer scared of me" I clapped my hands softly as I gave the guy a dark look making him gulp.
"Anastasia! What are you doing here? I did not know that you know him" he looked shocked to see me.
"Aww, you remember me, I am touched Kaden," I smiled,
"But, since you know I am here, you should stay low and stay away from Alessio, he is family" I threatened Kaden with a smile, who nodded with fear and run away.
"Who the hell are you? Why is he scared of you? "Alessio screamed at me.
"Alessio, the lesser you know the better, and plus, you hate me, and I hate you. What happened here stays here," I waved as I walked back to where Alex is.
I wonder why, Kaden was harassing Alessio, I pondered as I walked back.
I woke up way before my alarm rang. I showered and got ready for school. Surprisingly, this private school does not require us to wear any uniform as long as wee dress appropriately. I walked down to the kitchen and decided to male some breakfast for everyone excluding Alessio, I am not going to waste effort on someone that is not making effort to hide their hatred towards me.
"Woah, they smell amazing thank you darling" Vincent sighed as he smelled the scent of food.
I was taking the last bite of my waffles when Alex floated towards the food. He started to wolf down the food the second he sat down. It was a good decision to not make breakfast for Alessio, cause he left the house without coming into the kitchen. Vin sighed as Alessio banged the front door shut.
"I am sorry, he is just not used to having you back" Vin spoke apologetically, I shook my head smiling. He does not have to make excuses for the actions of his brother.
"Have fun at school, I am sure Alex will be taking goof care of you there. Call us if you need anything at any timing, Luke hovered over me as I wore my shoes. He kissed my forehead as I left the house.
Alex was driving us to school. He was a fast driver, yet he stayed in the same lane and followed all the road rules except of the speed limit.
"So, we will collect your schedules first then, I will show you your locker and first class. Do you want me to mee you after each classes?" he asked me worriedly as we walked to the office, ignoring all the stares and glares sent out way. Glares mostly at me.
All the classes before lunch were not bad. They were slightly boring. I made my way towards the cafeteria for lunch. everyone went silent as I walked in, breathing through my mouth, I made my way towards the lunch queue, before I was halfway there, I heard a loud scream, I have heard it before.
"ANASTASIA!" I turned towards the voices and saw the brothers running towards me with a huge smile on their faces.
"Arjuna, Vijay," I sighed in joy.
"omg, I missed you so much" Arjuna hugged me tightly making me smile at the comfort his hug gave me.
"Alright Ar, let her go," Vijay scolded his brother.
"I missed you, come on, we have extra food that ma cooked," he held out his hand for me to hold. We walked to their tables hand in hand. Once again ignoring the whole student body looking at us.
"Meet Aria, Leah and Luke, our friends in this horrible school" Ar grumbled,
"Everyone meet, Ana our best friend of all time" Ar smiled.
"They talked about you all the time, so what are you doing here?" Aria asked confused to my sudden presence in this school.
"I moved in my brothers, therefore I am transferred to this school" I replied,
"What happened to SA? Vijay asked confused,
"I did not tell them about it. Vij, they hate Figure Skating to the core. I cannot tell them I am training for competitions" I harshly whispered to him.
"But that was the only thing keeping you sane, and the same reason why he will not bring you back into it again. Are you sure you want to risk it all? he whispered back worried. I sighed.
"Look like, my baby sister made new friends" Alex spoke from behind me, making everyone on my table except Luke to turn pale.
"Wait, you guys are scared of him" I pointed to Alex who plopped next to me, eating from my plate of food that the brothers served me.
Four of them nodded,
"Guys, as long as I am here with you, you have nothing to fear about him. If he hurts you, let me know, I will handle it" I patted Alex's head as he ate my lunch.
"Woah, what happened to family first?" he placed his hand over his chest faking heartache.
"Well, you are right, Arjuna and Vijay are my first family, so I am helping my family" I smiled at Alex who frowned at the mention of the brothers.
I had the rest of my classes with the brothers which made them happy. We spent the rest of the hours catching up. We also made plans to sneak into their family skating arena for me to skate for a while.
