Prove Yourself Part III

“An apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Am I right?”

The two broke out into a giggle, making Joke, who was the subject of their conversation, narrow his eyes at them. Finally, Madame Fon lightly coughed, as if still trying to act innocent.

“You can stop worrying about your dad now, right?” She asked. “You and Rin still have to focus on the tournament. I only inject you with a little bit more motivation. Hope you can handle it?”

“You call that a bit?” Artit argued for his friend. “It’s TST, not a backwater regional tournament. He can’t just win by wishing so.”

The shop owner instantly chuckled. She turned to stare at the origin of today’s incident in her shop and made Joke let out a long exhale before he finally nodded to second her claim.

“Thank you. You’ve helped me big time. It’s already enough that my father lets me prove myself to him. Leave the rest to me. I’ll win.”

“Very good.” Madame Fon smiled.

“Whoa. And this guy doesn’t look stressed at all. Annoying.”
