Darker than Black Part I

“What are you so upset about? Didn’t you win?”

Merlin’s playful greeting could be heard inside the co-working space of the men’s team members where all three men were gathered simultaneously, creating a rare sight.

Black Wizard, the person whom that greeting was directed toward, was busy typing on his trusty laptop. He paused and turned his eyes to the speaker, and once he received a big grin from his mischievous captain, he quickly turned away, ignoring him.

“Tch. Acting tough…”

Merlin laughed heartily, causing Joke, sitting nearby, to look up at them in confusion.

“What’s going on?”

“Oh, nothing. It’s just…there’s probably something that annoyed our vice-captain today.”

Joke arched his brow and threw a glance toward Black Wizard. The man was doing his work, but the dark aura surrounding him also made it clear enough to be sensed by other people.

“What happened?” Joke lowered his voice, trying to respect Black Wizard’s privacy.

“Probably didn’t have enough.”
