Chapter13: motive

My heart was beating so fast right now just thinking about Alex. I can't let him find me. 

"Calm down Kim. I'll deal with everything. Just relax. I'll know of a way to advertise your work and your receptionist will be ready by tomorrow." She said.

"But that's alot. You have done a lot. I can do this. I'll think of something."I told Sheebalie. She has done a lot at least I can do this on my own but she kept insisting and I gave up.

"Okay fine, do whatever you want but you have to let me pay you for all this. I can't be my own boss and take all the profit. You'll have to take the profit and pay me normally like your normy employee. Like how I was in the hospital. You'll be my boss controlling everything. I can't own something that I didn't contribute to build." I said in a firm voice to let her know I'm damn serious.

"Damn, fine okay, fine. You are too stubborn. Why can't you let others help you?" She asked

"Because I don't want to be a burden to others."I replied.

"But you are my sister, you are not a burden."she said sweetly. The way she calls me sister is so natural you would think we are real sisters. I don't think I can call her my sister though so I just call her by her name. She can call me however the fuck she wants.

"Can we drop this, my statement was final. I'm not changing my mind no matter how much you convince me."I told her and I heard Angela chuckle. We looked at her questioningly and she stopped.

"Nothing ma'am, miss. I just like laughing." She gave an excuse for why she was laughing.

"Can you just call me by my name. You can call your boss ma'am."Sheebalie told Angela.

"But you're my boss's boss? I can't call you by your name miss sorry about that." She said as a matter of fact not looking apologetic like her words.

"Why are you two damn important women in my life so fucking stubborn?"she said frustratedly.

"Are we that important to you. But we are just your employees?" I asked her curious.

"Let's just drop this. It was a slip of the tongue. Sorry." Sheebalie said. We stopped talking and we didn't realize we were in the parking lot all that time. Shit. I cursed inwardly. How long had we been here. I announced I'm going home.

"Angela do you want me to drop you at your place?" I asked Angie because she comes by taxi to work. If I was rich I would buy her a car for sure.

"Naah just go home Kim, I'll drop her home don't worry. You'll have a lot of work tomorrow just go and rest." Sheebalie said. Now I'm sure she likes Angie. Well I wish them all the best.

" But you don't know where I live?" Angela asked politely refusing her offer.

"Get in the car Angela. You'll tell me on the way." Sheebalie replied opening the door for her and she got in.

I smiled at her and entered my car to go home. I reached home and went to take a shower and probably cook lunch. I had planned to call my friends but I remembered they are busy during the day so I just cooked lunch and ate then took a nap. I decided to call them at night.

********At Sheebalie's car***************

Sheebalie and Angela drove in silent. It was an awkward one. Angela was looking outside the window while Sheebalie kept stealing glances at her. Angela was aware of it but she pretended not to notice.

"So where do you live?"Sheebalie asked to break the silence. Angela just kept looking outside the window.

"Did you renovate the office that you gave Kimberly in two days like you said?" Angela suddenly asked.

"What? Why do you ask?" Sheebalie asked smiling.

"You know you can fool Kimberly but not me miss Sheebalie. What is your motive?"Angela asked looking at Sheebalie intensely.

"What are you talking about Angela? I just want to help Kim now that she lost her job. With a talent like hers it's a waste if she won't use it because she won't have a job  just because she crossed Alexander. I know him he's cruel. He can make her not find a job anywhere." Sheebalie explained. Angela just stared at her and then asked.

"Do you perhaps like me miss Sheebalie?" Sheebalie stepped on the brakes and the car came to a screeching stop.

"Why are you asking so many questions? I'm helping Kimberly like a sister okay." Sheebalie said then continued driving.

"You didn't answer my question but I won't ask anymore since I have a feeling I won't get an answer. But listen, if you dare hurt Kimberly with those little games that you are playing, I would be coming for you. I won't care about who you are." Angela said firmly and warning Sheebalie.

"I'm not playing games and I don't want to hurt Kimberly at all. Trust me, that's the last thing I want to do."Sheebalie sighed tiredly. 

"Trust is not built in a day. Kimberly may be trusting you for some reasons I don't give a fuck about, but I don't. I feel you are hiding something. Something big and let me tell you, Kimberly may not be my bestie but she's the best person on earth I know so don't damage and break her. That's a warning miss." Angela said fiercely. It shocked Sheebalie because she has always seen the kind and chirpy side of her and now she's seeing another side. She wanted to laugh at how cute she looked but she knew that was not the time to do that.

"Do you want me to buy you lunch?" Sheebalie asked to divert the conversation elsewhere little did she know she just angered the tigress more.

"You think I don't have money to buy myself lunch? Can you just drop me here. I don't feel comfortable being in your car anymore." Angela said angrily.

"Okay I'm sorry if I said something wrong. Please don't get out, I'll drop you at your place. Please don't be angry with me. Where do you live I'll drop you there now." Sheebalie said panicking. She really thought that Angie would want to be dropped off at the middle of the road. Angela told her an address and she dropped her there. She waited until Angie got in the apartment building then drove off and took out her phone which she then switched the Bluetooth on to connect to the car. She called someone.

Sheebs:" John?"

"Yes boss."the guy in the other side of the phone answered.

"Where's she right now?" She asked.

"She just got out of the apartment you've dropped her boss. She is going to the other side of the road boss." The man named John replied.

"Keep an eye on her as always. And assign some people to keep an eye on my sister too. I believe you have seen Alex's men trail her? She asked.

"Okay boss. There are some men trailing your sister but they are not Alex's men. I have seen them some time before trail her but they stopped. I have seen them again today." John informed.

"Find who they work for then after you are done do the necessary. Make sure no one knows where she is currently working do you understand." Sheebalie ordered as she switched lanes in the high way.

"Copy that boss." John immediately responded.

"Report to me immediately if anything suspicious is happening okay. I'll hung up now." Sheebalie hung up without waiting for a reply." Damnit Angela if you think you are smart" she said to herself then smiled. "Damn you Angela , damn you." She cursed Angela loudly in the car. She slowly drove to her penthouse. She got out of the car and entered the elevator then pressed the 40 th floor which was her penthouse. After she got in her house and she dropped her keys on the key place where she usually keeps them then locked her house. She didn't have any helpers except the housekeeper who comes to add her groceries. She was a vegetarian so she cooked vegetables at most times. She likes doing things herself even the laundry she does it herself. Though sometimes she calls for her driver to drive her but she drives herself most of the times but she has bodyguards keeping watch. She is successful and rich and rich people survive a lot of shit everyday that's why she keeps her bodyguards although they don't trail behind her. She just keeps them and let them protect her in the shadow. She made some calls to make some few appointments then took a shower. Later she cooked supper then slept after eating.
