Welcome to the Academy

Milo stared at the razor sharp claws that were out stretched for a hand shake. He sheepishly reached out and grasped Truman's hand.

"Hmm, you know they always say that you can tell a person's integrity by how firm they shake hands," Truman said with a toothy grin that put his overly large canines on display.

Milo began to feel the pressure from the handshake and he instinctively pressed harder with his hand but no matter how hard he pressed Truman was still superior.

"Hmm thanks more like it" Truman chuckled a bit and went back around to his chair and sat back down. "Please Mister Ingal take a seat, " Milo sat down in the soft leather seat that was in front of Blackheart's desk. He looked around taking in the paintings and heads of different monsters attached to the walls.

"Now Mister Ingal, how was your trip to our esteemed Academy?"

"Ummm, it was pleasant, lots of new things that I will have to get accustomed to, but it's a pleasant change from the village," Milo said with a somewhat excited voice.

"Hahaha bet it was, nothing like seeing one of the world's great wonders for the first time, " Blackheart said with a loud but enthusiastic voice. "Well your the last student to have arrived for this year which is mostly our fault, the oracle that decided where the letters go thought she was done for this year's class but a few days after she picked up another student that needed an invitation."

"Ah so that's why I had such short notice" Milo was trying to downplay how surprised he was that the school used and Oracle to decided who to invite.

"Now I can see that your a bit surprised about our selection methods, but that's only for the students that the Oracle sees a great future in. Most students applied for the school and their parents payed for their tuition. But we use the Oracle to find outstanding youths like yourself to send a free ride scholarship. This ensures we can produce more hero class adventures." Truman was now staring at Milo with his Snow White grin on display.

"But you mister Ingal is an exception to the Oracle select student, most of the selected as we like to call them are from adventure families and where trained from a young age to be exceptional amount their peers but even then they still need to have to gods on there said to be granted the unique skills to someday reach hero rank. So for a farm boy from a small village to be selected is a new phenomenon that hasn't accrued since the gods help use build the entrance to the great labyrinth."

Milo was nervous because he realized that what he wanted to do which was lay low and train for his first two years of the Academy was dashed.

" It would be an understatement to say that the faculty and I included aren't excited to see what you'll bring to this school" Truman was smiling so wide that Milo was worried his lips would split. 'Great now I'm gonna be watched by all the teachers as well' Milo thought.

"Now Mister Ingal ill lewd you to the southwest wing of the Academy where the boy's dorms are located in." Truman went to the door of his office opened his door and glanced back at Milo

"Come along Milo I'm sure your roommate is excited to meet you."

They both started to walk down the enormous hallways leading to the southwest side of the Academy.

" You'll be put into the Selected class where the other Oracle selected students are, we do this to ensure that our students are at equal footing with their classmates." Milo was following along. Blackheart was walking at a normal pace compare to the butler earlier.

When they entered the southwest wing of the school Milo could tell immediately. The decore change to feel more homely, and the wall had doors on both sides over twelve or so feet. On the doors where numbers that Milo assumed were the dorm numbers.

"Well here we are mister Ingal dorm room 1212, I'll see you tomorrow when the freshmen class gets introduced." As he said that Blackheart swiftly left Milo in front of his room with his new key.

At first, Milo stared at the key in his hand but then he hesitantly used it to unlock his door and pushed it open in the room was a small kitchen to the left and a bathroom to the right but past those was the living area with a bed on each side of the room.

As soon as Milo got a look at the room a young boy the same age as Milo rushed towards him with a huge grin on his face.

"Hello I'm Felix," he said with his hand outstretched for Milo to shake. But this handshake was different than the last it didn't feel like a huge clamp had taken ahold of his hand.

Felix was an odd looking boy. His complexion could be compared to a white sheet of paper and he had bright red hair, with green eyes. He stood at 6'0".

"Hi I'm Milo, nice to meet you Felix"

"Right back at you Milo," Felix said beaming with a glint in his eyes " well welcome to the Academy and your new home for the next few year."

"I've already taken the right bed so you'll have to do with the left, hope that's not a huge inconvenience"

"No not at all, how long have you been here?"

"Well I got here two days ago, I was the first freshmen to arrive also one of the first selected by the Oracle this year." Felix stuck out his chest a bit and looked overly proud about that.

"Well then it looks like we'll be in the same class than"

"Yeah we'll be in the best class of the freshmen year," Felix said with a laugh. "You also know what that means right?" he looked at Milo like it was the most obvious thing in the century.

"whats does it mean?"

"Ah so glad you could ask Milo, my young student, " Felix reached out a grasped both of Milos's shoulders and suddenly looked very serious. "now this my first lesson to pass on to you, you see all of the great Adventure families are full of the most gorgeous people in them which also includes the hottest babes. If you put two and two together the girls that will be in our class will the hottest babes in the freshmen year." Felix looked like he had just passed on the holy grail of information to Milo.

"So you see Milo well be able to get the hottest girls in our school with ease when we show them our awesome skills."

Milo had never even thought about getting a girlfriend in the academy so he was a bit taken back by how enthusiastic Felix was about the girls in their class.

"Now I know not everyone had the skill I got with ladies, but ill be happy to give you pointers in that category, " the glint in Felix's eyes intensified even more.

"Well I was thinking of focusing on becoming a better adventure first before I thought about other things." Milo said sheepishly

"Hmm so you plan on winning their hearts over by becoming the best adventure in the class, Hmm a new interesting tactic." Felix grabbed his chin and looked like he was pondering what he assumed Milo's goal was. " It's brilliant Milo my new best friend, with this tactic we'll concur all the babes in our class."

Milo was dumbfounded by Felix, he knew that this new friend he just made was gonna make the start of his adventure career very interesting.

Felix looked like a little girl that had just received a puppy for her birthday. " you and I are gonna do great things this year, Milo, just you watch well be the biggest stars in the freshmen class and it all starts tomorrow " Felix practically shout the last part.

Milo was excited about tomorrow but now he added a bit of nervousness as well.
