Chapter 22

Pale as chalk, rigid heavy breathing and a weird body temperature Leonna is barely keeping her consciousness intact.

She was wrap in atleast ten thick blanket just so Leon could carry her around. Her skin is still cold as ice but unlike last night, the icyness is somewhat bareable.

"Your grace, her body temperature is like nothing I've seen before, I didnt even know its humanly possible to be cold and hot at the same time." Sebastian stated, after checking Leonna's body once again with his magic. Sebastian was left dumfounded, She was burning in the inside but cold as ice on the outside.

"Then what should we do?! Just let her be like this?!" Leon was getting more and more frustrated as time passes by that he couldnt do anything once again to help Leonna.

He aggressively pinch the bridge of his nose he took a deep breath to ease his frustration and anger.

"Everytime I think Im one step further to knowing this child another thing comes up that puts me three steps behind." Leon stated in disappointment.

"Lady Leonna is indeed mysterious, her mother, her unique powers and her physical appearance is just one big question mark."

Leon picked Leonna up and cradle her in his arms. He hugged her as tight as he could.

Once again Leonna is on the brick of death and he couldnt do anything.

"Your grace I may know a person who might have some answer to our question." Sebastian said. Immediately Leon looked at Sebastian with hopeful eyes.

"Who?"

"A man name Riri from the kingdom of Musgravite. He's a prisoner there, he was imprisoned for using black magic." Sebastian stated.

"How exactly will he be of help to us?" Leon asked.

"He's obssessed with black magic your grace, he's been studying black magic since he was a kid. Everything that has to do with something out of the ordinary he experimented on it. Maybe he knows why Leonna's condition is like that."

Leon thought for a moment before looking at Leonna who was struggling to breathe.

Her chest was huffing and puffing up and down. "Are you sure she can help?"

"Its worth to try your grace." Sebastian said, Leon nodded in response.

"Alright, lets try that." Leon said, he gently put Leonna on a bed as he smiled at her.

"Hey, can you hear me little cub?" Leon sain in a sweet and gentle tone much to the surprise of Sebastian.

Leonna gently nodded. "Don't worry little cub, everything's going to fine. Trust me."

Leonna smiled at Leon "I-I t-trust you dad." Leonna said with a shiver voice.

Leon kissed Leonna on her forehead before looking back at Sebastian who was on stand by.

"Get her ready, we'll go the kingdom of Musgravite immediately." Leon said.

"Yes your grace."

Leon immediately went out of the room and went straight to his office.

He saw Winston there arranging a pile of letters on his table.

When Winston saw Leon entered the room he immediately bow in respect. "Greetings your grace." He said.

"Tsk. Another pile of letters?" Leon said in an annoyed tone seeing the hundreds of letters sent to the dukedom.

Winston lightly laugh at Leon's reaction "yes your grace, Lady Leonna did make quite an impression last night."

"Those good for nothing leeches only want to see Leonna because of her powers! My daughter is not some animal for their entertainment! Burn all the letters!" Leon said fuming, his mist started to leak out of him and Winston had to take a few steps back for his comfort.

When Leon saw Winston step back he halted, he took a deep breathes to calm himself down.

"Leonna's power is indeed unique. I didnt even know that is possible for her to have such powers, at the very least I thought she would inherit the Viosta's powers." Leon said.

"Kids can only inherit their powers from their parents your grace. Lady Leonna looks like you with the red hair and red eyes but does not have the same powers as you that only means she must have inherit her powers from her mother."

Leon was taken back at what Winston said. [Leonna's mother?]

"We dont even know who her mother is, I don't know how and why she has red hair." Leon said.

"Your grace---" Before Winston could even finish his sentence a panicked and frazzled Sebastian came rushing to Leon's office.

"Your grace! We have an emergency!" He shouted in a panicked.

Leon already knew that it has something to do with Leonna.

"What happened?!" Leon asked as he run to his bedroom.

There he saw Leonna on the bed laying, but when he got closer to her he gasp audibly.

"W-whats happening to her skin?"

Leon couldn't believe what he was seeing. Yet again another mystery yet to be solve.

Winston was behind Leon and just like him he was shock and in complete disbelief.

"My l-lady's skin is i-its breaking?" Winston mumble.

"Why? Why is it breaking?!" Leon turned around to Sebastian and grab him by yhe colar, in anger and rage Leon immediately started strangling Sebastian.

His eyes glowed in golden color and his mist began to come out of his hands.

"Y-your grace!" Winston yelled trying to get Leon's hand off of Sebastian.

"I-its- b-because of early awakening!" Sebastian said as he try to catch his breathe.

Leon let go of Sebastian's collar making him stumble to the ground.

Sebastian cough repetedly trying to catch his breath.

"What?!" Leon asked

"I think its because of her early awakening your grace! She has awoken five years earlier than normal maguses, her body cant handle it and to top it off her power are something out of the ordinary. We need to bring her to Riri immediately your grace." Sebastian stated.

Leon clenched his fist and in anger he punched the wall with so much force that it basically break.

Winsto and Sebastian both gasp in shock and horror.

"D-ad..." Leonna called for Leon in a soft shaky voice.

Leon immediately went to Leonna's side and with little strenght Leonna had, she held Leon's hand.

"Hang in there little cub, we will get you treated. I promise." Leon said.

He carried Leonna by the hand and wrap her more in more blanket before turning around to Winston.

"Ready the portal, we'll go to the palace immediately, tell Jace that him and his troops are going with us." Leon ordered.

"Yes your grace." Winston stated before leaving the room to carry out Leon's ordered.

"Your grace....Riri is a property of the Musgravite kingdom, they won't let you in that easily." Sebastian said worriedly.

Leon looked at Leonna, then he smiled. "I know. Don't worry, Im prepared."
