Adeptus Custodeus(Warlock of Magnus World)

Mathew was always an obsessed Warhammer fan. He read through the lore and collected the minis. Throughout the factions of the Galaxy Mathew loved them all. However, one stood above all of them in his eyes. The Adeptus Custodes, and when he died he was given a chance to live again.

New Life of Battle.

Mathew was a man in his early 40s with black hair and a small black beard. Despite his age, he looked younger than that for the simple fact that he was extremely active in his daily life. He stood 6'3 which he was proud of and worked as a Neuro Surgeon which he found borring.

Sure cutting open someone's grey matter should be fun, but he always found it so easy. He had a knack for cutting people open which he always joked about. Though, no one actually found it funny.

He chuckled at the thought which had caused people to think him insane. In a way, he might be. He never really liked humans all that much as they always found ways to make him dislike the species.

Yet, he was still one of that species so he drove those thoughts back to the furthest reaches of his mind. Feeling himself above others served no better purpose than to elevate an ego with nothing to back it up.

'Home at last.'

After another day of work, he drove home in his prized SUV to his house. He lived almost alone except for his 2 cats and one dog. He always did like animals more than others which were why he was single despite his looks and profession. As he pulled up to the driveway he opened up his garage to let him park his vehicle. As the garage gate closed up behind him he stepped out with a jump in his step.

"What time is it?"

He checked his watch and saw that it was already 2:34 which was not bad. He had another 3 hours before he had to get to bed so he had time to slack off. He entered his home with a small whistle to call his little fluff balls. His three pets ran to the door to meet him with joy.

Seeing them made him feel happy. He kneeled down as he rubbed their little heads. His cats were black and white as they were brothers which he got from a shelter. As for his little dog, he was an old chihuahua.

"My boys. I am glad to see you three. Jackie, Mark, did you two CATch any mice?"

He laughed at his own joke which his cats obviously did not understand. His dog was named Samuel, but he called him Sam.

"Sam. Still fat I see."

He picked up the old dog which licked his face happily. 17 years old and still fairly healthy. Must be the raw diet he had him on. He put him down as he went up the stairs followed by the three pets. When he reached a room on the second floor he pulled out his keys to open the door.

Once open he walked inside with his three pets. This is where he kept most of his Warhammer 40K merchandise. Here he had his army of Necrons, Tyranids, Orks, Space Marines, factions of Chaos, Tau, and Guardsmen.

It made him smile since he had been into Warhammer 40K since the start when he was 18. Now he was 43 and he still found it interesting.

"Well, what do we do now?"

He asked his pets as they were the only ones with him at the time. His cats left after they had enough interaction. That was just how cats were while old Samuel stuck around. He picked up the old dog and put him on his lap.

He was about to start panting some new Custodeus and Grey Knights, but he suddenly felt exhausted.

'What in the Warp?'

Just then he closed his eyes and fell limp. His dog just thought that Mathew had gone to sleep. In this deep sleep, Mathew's soul came in contact with a god. This god had felt potent potentiol within Mathew and he decided to offer him a chance to use it.

'Can you hear me mortal?'

Mathew calmed himself down and responded.

"I can. What has happened? Why am I dead?"

'You are not dead yet. I intend to put you back in your body should you refuse my offer, but I still wish to offer you this chance. Two dimensions are close to converging and if nothing is done both will collide, fuse and bring about chaos.

In your world, they are mere fantasy, but they are very real. You know of them already. The worlds of Warhammer, and Warlock of a Magnus World is the name it goes by in your world.'

When Mathew heard of that he was confused. Warhammer he knew as he loved it. As for the novel he spoke of, he had read it twice, but why did it matter that they were colliding?

'What would happen if they collide?'

'Many more realities would be affected by the destruction including yours in in less than a millennia. To stop it, a powerful being must rise in either one of the two to safely guide the fusing of the dimensions. And I have chosen you.

If the gods choose others, I would not know. Will you accept?'

Mathew closed his eyes for a moment before he nodded.

"I accept."

'Excellent. You may pick up to 3 wishes to start you off. Sending you as you are would do no one any good. In which reality do you wish to begin? Warhammer, or Warlock?'

"Warlock. Rising in power will be easier in that one. But I already know what wishes I want. To begin with, I wish for my body to be that of an Adeptus Custodes, specifically Constantin Valdor."

'Ah, mightiest of the Custodes, with the skill to rival a Primarch. Yes, I can grant this for your body. Gear crafted by the Anathema himself. A body to not be affected by time, with wills made of iron, with souls pure of corruption. What is your next request, my warrior.'

"The powerful psychic potentiol of Magnus The Red. I need the power of the Second Greatest Psyker to contend with the evils of the Warp. If the two realities are to collide, I should be connected to both through the Warp. Can this be done?"

'Of course. Fallen Son of Anathema within a body of the greatest Gene Craft. Yes, the perfect warrior to come from this. I can see it. As for your last request, what is it?'

"Simple. I need a Meditation Technique to rival my new power. One to take me through both the Magus and Psyker paths."

The god paused before his booming laughter returned.

'Yes, yes. Perfect. I can't wait to see what you will achieve champion of mine. What do you wish to name this technique.'

'The Custodian's Path.'

Instantly, the information of this technique was pushed into his mind. He knew just because he had the technique, did not mean he would reach the legendary Rank 9 Magus. But he was already far ahead of everyone else who would have to find a way to progress past that point.

'You are read-'

Before the god could continue Mathew cut him off.

"WAIT! Before you do anything, I wish to ask a simple favor."

The god paused.

'What would that be?'

"It's my pets. I can't leave them to suffer. Can you make sure someone who will care for them will take them?"

'I find that commendable. Of course. The three little ones will have lives that even the wealthy would envy.'

Now he could go happy that they would live even without him. Now that was dealt with he wondered what would happen. The god opened a gateway for him and tossed him inside. Mathew's mind went blank when he entered the gateway as he was sent off to his destination.

The gateway opened up high in the sky and strangely enough spat out not Mathew's soul, but a giant golden armored figure that was Mathew. His new body had been made inside the gateway so when he was spat out his body was complete. In an instant, the powerful psychic might of Magnus flowed through his mind, soul, and body causing his eyes to glow a deep purple.

At that moment his soul lit up the Warp with its power drawing the eyes of the 4 Chaos gods and Daemons. They all wondered where this powerful soul came from, but he did not care.

They hungered and sought to corrupt this new soul for their sake, but as they approached a blinding golden light burned them. This caused usually immortal warp entities to be burned to ash never to be reformed.

The power of his soul burst through the Warp causing Daemons who had gotten too close to be burnt to ashes. Mathew's body filled with strength as he gripped his Apollonian Spear in his right hand.

Instantly millennia of battle were produced by his powerful mind. Behind his golden helmet, his now bright purple eyes opened wide as his slack body activated. He sucked in and manipulated the Warp to his use as he slowed his fall with skillful use. He righted his fall from falling on his head to landing on his feet.

'Here we go.'

The impact was hard and heavy driven by his 12 feet tall height. His Auramite armor was without a single scratch and he landed without trouble as he looked around. He was in a large open field which his helmet scanned for him.

His eyesight was better than any bird of prey as he could see every detail in front of him. He hefted the massive spear and rested it on his shoulder as he felt that at the moment there was no danger.

Just as he was about to leave he looked at the ground and noticed carriage tracks.

"Let's see. I remember the entire story from beginning to end, but not what things look like. But carriage tracks could be the Chornobyl Islands. So, Leylin the main character of this universe is here."

He kneeled down and removed his helmet to reveal his new face. As much as Mathew was a regular man, the genetic influence of his new body changed things. He was already odd or something, but his new body and power built on that.

He became much colder, calculated, and steady. He reached for the first and picked some dirt in his Power Armor's hand.

'Could not have been more than an hour ago.'

He stood up and looked at his reflection in his helmet. He looked mostly as he used to only, better. Ignoring the worthless thought he put his helmet back on as he began to build up to a run.

Astartes were faster than the eye could see, but even they are outpaced by the Emperor's Body Guards. Mathew's speed became so blindingly fast that he was more of a blur of gold than anything. Even though he was amazed by his new body, he was quite interested to test it.

The Warp churned as he drew it into his body to increase his physical capabilities up a level. Everyone had a limit on how much of the Warp they could draw in, but his peak was still a massive ways off. The perfect gene craft of the Emperor and the power of a Primarch worked as one.

His speed tripled which made him vanish from view as he ran after the carriages. He caught up in a simple 10 minutes, but he stayed away by several miles. He did not want to approach carelessly before he was sure what course of action he wanted to take.

His trans-human sight allowed him to gaze at the gathering of carriages in front of him. There were quite a few of them surrounded by black-robed guards. What they were guarding was made apparent when he saw some young boys and girls come out rarely.

'Just as I thought. What would Leylin even look like?'

He had no clue, as the story had no pictures sadly, but he could work with things. He placed his spear on his back as he began to channel the Warp into his body once more. Why do all that when he could do something so much more, sophisticated? He gazed at one of the black robes and with his very soul bearing down on the man he encroached on his mind.

The man tried to struggle, but he stood little chance to the psychic might of Mathew who bore into his soul. He observed the entire life of the Knight from his childhood to his path of knighthood. How he fell to an experimental subject of a Magus and now to Mathew.

He combed through the information as the Knight fell like a puppet without strings. When one of the other knights noticed this they were shocked. They approached his body to see what was wrong, but the already dead knight was beyond life.

Mathew now knew some basic information about this world, but the knight was not very informed. The more knowledgeable ones would be the Magus, but should he make them his enemies so soon?

They were the fastest way off the Chornobyl Islands. He could stick around here for a small time, but he did not want to. He was on a timeline as the Warp was not a nice place. If Magnus fell, why could he not?

"Might as well do it the old-fashioned way?"

He heaved the Apollonian Spear which was passed down to Constantin Valdor. He rose to full height which was Primarch height without his armor and with it he was almost 14 feet tall. He began to walk slowly, but powerfully toward the carriages as he planned to speak to the Magus.

The White-Robed Magus suddenly felt as if a terrible monster was approaching them causing them to order the knights to keep an eye out. It was not actually very hard to find Mathew with his staggering height and golden armor.

One of the Magus rose to her feet as her white hood fell revealing her sweating face. Every fiber of her being screamed at her to flee or to not resist the thing. To her, Mathew was not a person he could not be despite his shape being humanoid.

"KNIGHTS! TAKE THAT THING DOWN!"

The Knights all grabbed their person-sized swords that still felt small compared to his Apollonian Spear which was the size of several men. He could feel their fear as they looked at him which caused him no lack of joy.

He had no need of their fear. Holding the spear with one hand he spoke up by using the Warp to boost his voice's sound.

"Any who surrenders now shall be spared."

He watched as the knights listened, but the Magus refused.

"ANYONE WHO DARES TO COWER SHALL BE KILLED BY ME!"

A male Magus roared at the top of his lungs as he refused to submit. Mathew gave them one warning and that was all he would give them. He watched as the Knights began to charge at him faster and with more force than humans should.

But, in the face of even regular Astartes, these Knights were nothing. Just as he was about to move one Knight yelled an order to the rest.

"Activate your secret skills!"

At that moment, the Knights released crackling sounds as their muscles continuously expanded. At first glance, their overgrown muscles made them look like small giants. They reached the same height as regular Astartes at least, but they were not Astares.

Just as he was surrounded by the 20 giant knights he did not move from his spot. His right hand in which he held his Spear and in one swift motion moved from left to right The massive reach of his weapon combined with the Auramite and Adamantium cleaved through 10 knights in one swing.

Instantly, Mathew was assaulted by the entirety of the 10 Knights' entire lives. From the moment of their births to their deaths. But his super-enhanced brain boosted by the powers of Magnus processed all those memories in milliseconds.

But he did not stop at all. The remaining 10 froze in shock as they were taken out so easily. He rushed toward the cowering Knights and with swift slashes cut each of his slashes cut them in half along side their weapons.

Their memories once more flooded into his mind, but he once again was unaffected. Once the Knights were dead he looked at the Magus. Their memories would be far more useful than simple knights.

However the time bought by the Knights was enough for the Magus to finish chanting. They all launched powerful fireballs at him intending to kill him. He could dodge or he could shield, but he had a better idea. He channeled the Warp into his right hand as he extended it to the fireballs.

With a flick of the wrist, scorching purple warp fire consumed the Magus spell and surged toward the carriage. They would not have the chance to cast another spell which caused them to pull out their defensive treasures as they thought he was a higher-level Magus.

The 5 White Robes all used their treasures to defend which just barely held against his small stream of fire. Mathew spoke again serious this time.

"Now, are you going to obey, or do I have to rip what I want from your souls?"

Knowing how petty Magus were as they were Magus themselves they tried to buy his favor. The only woman in the group prostrated herself not daring to get near.

"OH, GOLDEN MAGUS! Please forgive us for our folly. We were not aware a Magus of your caliber was located in the Chornobyl Islands. We ask you spare us."

The other 4 White Robes did as she did yelling praises toward him. He did not care; he just wanted to use their method to get off the islands.

"Would have been easier if you had done this before. But as a favor, I guess I can guard your carriages."

The female Magus looked up at his giant golden form with questions.

"Who will drive the carriages? All our drivers are dead?"

Mathew pointed at them.

"You five can do it. Look for any of the cargo that can do the job. I wish to get out of this backwater place."

Acting his station made the Magus nod as they yelled praises.

"Yes, venerable Golden Magus."

They rushed to do as he ordered to look for any of the acolyte recruits to do as he said. Mathew and the Magus froze when they heard a young voice.

"I can do it?"

They looked at the one who said that and saw it was a young boy barely 14 with black hair. This made him curious.

"What is your name?"

The boy gulped as he introduced himself.

"Leylin Farlier Lord Magus."

Mathew smiled under his helmet.

'Found him.'

"You shall do. Look for more that can do the job."

Leylin looked at his back with desire and longing for power like Mathew had. As for Mathew, he could see the use in helping Leylin. He would need an apprentice after all who could help him. Or maybe he should simply steal the A. I chip and be done with it.

Options, options.
