Lucas Walker unceremoniously cut him off.
Having lived with the old butler for over twenty years, he understood him, and the butler understood him.
Just by looking at the other party's demeanor, he knew that the butler was holding something back.
"It was her...isn't it?"
"Sir!" The old butler hurriedly explained, "The duke did indeed call for the young miss at that time, but...I don't think it was her fault."
Despite his initial mistrust of the duchess due to his impulsiveness, upon further reflection, he realized his mistake.
"If she wanted to do that, she could've found another excuse to get her out. She didn't need to expose herself like this, right?"

"This..." the old butler was at a loss for words, "I just thought..."
Knowing that he was about to make excuses for the duchess again, Lucas Walker spoke two words disapprovingly.
