In The Meeting Room.

"What happened?", said Kuramochi sensing the atmosphere as he walked inside the door. Kawakami, Ryosuke, Sawamura, and Furuya walked behind him.

Kuramochi held Rei in his arm. In the end, he dragged Rei along with him even though Rei was half asleep.

"Why are you carrying Rei-Chan like that", commented Masuko.

"Why are you guys always the last one? Hurry it up I don't want to wait for you!", said Jun.

"Since everyone is here, sit down and let's start the meeting", said Chris standing near the board.

With everyone's attention on him, Chris said, "Komadai Fujimaki, is the team we will be facing as our first match".

Everyone's good mood had been destroyed just hearing about this news.

"Isn't that a famous school that just recently won the championship", said Haruicchi.

Chris nodded.

Upon receiving the confirmation from Chris, the player's moods dimmed down.

Rei facing such players didn't have hope that they will be able to pull through.

"It has been decided and we can't change It so let's focus on our strategies", said Chris.

Everyone nodded reluctantly. Even though the match isn't in their favor, Rei and Miyuki are probably the only ones that think they might have a chance.

After explaining some basic strategies and some outcomes.

Kataoka walked up to the board and said, "In Koshien there are only 18 players on the roster, so we will be putting 2 players on the bench. #19 and #20 will be put on the bench".

Haruicchi lowered his head in disappointment, 'Honestly, I was expecting this to happen since I haven't helped the team yet. I must work hard', he thought clenching his fist.

Sawamura was heartbroken. He knew having a lot of pitchers on this team meant fewer opportunities, he thought he would be able to overcome it. But he thought wrong.

"There's no need to sulk, you all have next year", said Chris trying to cheer up his disciple.

"Now let me announce the starting pitcher for tomorrow's match. Tanba will be starting", said Kataoka surprising everyone.

They obviously all thought that Rei would be starting.

Hearing his name called out, Tanba began to feel nervousness all over his body.

The meeting went on for a few hours as they were discussing the plays and analyzing their opponent's ace, 'Masamune Hongo'.

Honestly, everyone was either shocked or surprised to hear of Masamune's achievements and skills.

Sawamura and Furuya couldn't believe that someone in the same year as them had such achievements but when they looked at Rei, they shrugged it off.

Afternoon Practice, in a field.

"Ha…I'm so tired…Ha...ha", complained Sawamura panting hard from running around the field. He was shocked looking at Rei who ran without even breaking a sweat.

"How are you not tired yet", asked Sawamura.

"Isn't this just a warmup", said Rei oblivious to Sawamura's thoughts.

Sawamura cursed Rei's athleticism.

"Gather up! since the warmup has finished go do your own training", said Kataoka.

"HAIII!", said all players simultaneously. Everyone had received their personalized training plan in the notebook Chris-senpai handed out.

All the players started their training regime. Rei usually would follow his own training but since now his training alone didn't level up his skills or attributes he decided to stop and use the one Chris gave him.

Looking at the training plan, Rei said, "As expected of Chris-Senpai".

After a few hours, the sky was getting dark.

"Can I show you both something?", asked Rei approaching Miyuki and Chris.

"What! Is it a new pitch", exclaimed Miyuki.

"How'd you know?", said Rei shocked by Miyuki's foresight.

"I…was just joking. But didn't expect it to be true. So, what are you waiting for? let's go", said Miyuki.

Chris nodded agreeing with Miyuki.

A few minutes later, in the field.

Rei and Miyuki were ready in their positions.

"Ready when you are!", yelled Miyuki.

Rei nodded and threw the level 2 gyroball.

Miyuki was shocked seeing the ball come at him like a canon.

*THUD* the noise of the ball hitting the mitt.

Miyuki almost couldn't catch the pitch, maybe he was caught off guard.

Chris widened his eyes speechless and the same goes for Miyuki.

"Gyroball?", said Chris.

Rei nodded and said, "It's still not perfected yet, but I think it's still useful".

Miyuki and Chris nodded and decided to tell this news to the Coach.

Rei knew the skill level was too low but if he struck out a Koshien team he felt like he would be able to level it up.

A Certain Room in the Hotel.

"Seido, haven't heard of it", said Masamune as he found out who their opponent was going to be for the 1st match.

"Are you serious?", said Nishi.

"They won Koshien a few years back", commented Renji.

"Ho…Then I look forward to it. I thought it was a no-name team wasting my time", said Masamune.

"Don't be too stuck up. Since there are new players in their team this year, you don't know what might happen", said Nishi.

"Yeah, right! I look forward to meeting them", said Masamune scoffing.

Author's Note: Masamune might seem too arrogant but during his 1st year he was arrogant because of his skills. But he changed during his 2nd year becoming a hard worker.
