Page 85- _Affinities Of Joy and Oddity._

Stephen.... _I apologize for me and my colleagues' rude behavior. It's simply rare or maybe more suited, it's never happened for an employee to be so honest and well mannered. Hmm.....?_

He moved in closer to Rin's face leaving a shocked look splashed across his face.

Stephen.... _Aren't you the girl who came running an errand from the famous Ayami?_

Rintarõ.... _Er.... Yes i am. Why'd you ask?_

Stephen.... _Ohh so your name is Rintaro i see! I'm extremely honored to have such a person working in my humble store. I got it!_

He pounded a fist into his palm as if passing judgment.

Stephen.... _You'll work as a guide in the shop. I'll leave your friend lady Merumi teach you about everything. Moving on, allow me to introduce myself from the start. My name is Stephen Durallin, owner of this shop. I'm also leaving other introductions to your friend. I hope to favorably work with you._

Rintaro.... _Of course sir!._

The two got back inside and went straight to lessons. "Stephen must really like you, well not in a weird way but you get it. No one ever gets that kind of reception or such an easy job."

From her short experience since the start of summer break, Ai had made all necessary observations and adjusted herself to a normal routine. Given the opening, cleanup and closing duties, she moved a lot. Soon she had reached a point where she knew everyone in the store and frequent customers in less than five days.

From the young man who stood with Stephen earlier, Shin'ichi Nakano. A chatterbox and cheerful gentleman working as an accountant. Research led her to knowing his family was rich, but for some reason worked at a supermarket. She stopped pursuing him and moved to her next target, Sachio the register lady. Oddly quiet and very opposite to her name _(happy child)_ , she always had a scary look on her face and rarely said anything besides the price of items. But when Haruno moved to say her greetings, the reception was more than welcoming with a cheerful smile and opposite to her friend's description. After noticing the scary face, detective Merumi stopped any further investigations. And another Shuji, who apparently was on vacation. All three were permanent workers, making Rin and her friend the only holiday part-timers.

It took a few hours to get used to, but soon she was guiding customers looking for different sections, most of which were senior citizens. And as said her job was no doubt easier than the rest. She was even getting bored of sitting on the corner bench near the candy shelf. Contrary to her relaxed time, Merumi moped the tiled floor, put back shelf items in order and took endless trips in and out of the storeroom.

The lifeless routine continued until sundown approached. Both girls closed down the shop as part of their duty and made sure everything was in order.

Merumi.... _Ahh! finally!. Today was more busier than any other day i've worked here._

Rintarõ.... _Well done!. (Was it that busy?, guess being acquainted with Ayami really helped)_

Merumi.... _And to top if of everyone just goes home leaving us with the annoying closing doors job. I can't wait for this holiday to end, mhm i take that back. Spending time with Rin is fun so maybe i'll wait._

Rintarõ.... _Haha~ Why're you even working here anyway. You're already rich so what's the need for a small month pay?_

Merumi.... _Hehe.... Well noticed dear friend. Ever heard of the saying, "to realize life, one must sweat?"_

Rintarõ.... _I don't think that's a real saying but i'll bite. What does that mean?._

Merumi.... _I'm left with thirty days of freedom, but i don't have anything to do so i thought working would satisfy my emptiness. And it did, for the most part at least. Turns out working is too hard._

Rintarõ.... _(How does that apply to your earlier saying?) Haha don't worry, you'll definitely get a new goal each day. (But i doubt there's anything that could make you feel alive, as long as you're not traveling)_

A while of silly jokes and useless topics passed, again mostly from Ai until bright lights shone through the dark windows.
