Abnormal Priorities

A community for psychotic teens centered around a group of friends. Al, Molly, Elaine, Kate and Amelia try to leave Yaxley Community every year but something goes wrong. This year, it's a Paranormal girl who goes on a murder spree. Paranormal + teens. This story is extremely descriptive. All the characters and plots and ideas are mine.

"Home...let me come home..."

I sat on my bed, barely awake and straining to hear the arguments my friends had started today.

Amelia looked flustered and was turning beet red, "Kate, they say the same thing EVERY year."

"Why can't I just believe for once?" Kate and Amelia were having a back and forth argument, as usual. Kate on the defense, Amelia on the offense.

"Because you'll get crushed. Year after year we think, 'Oh! We'll get the letter in the mailbox telling us we're going home!' But it never happens." Amelia was making sense, so I scratched a point under her name on my wall.

"We'll go insane if we never hope." Point for Kate.

"They already think we're insane! That's why we're still here. We should be rocking around the Christmas tree, and hitting our heads on the walls." Point for Amelia.

"Wether they think we are or not, they have to see us improve and what good is giving up?!" Two points to Kate. Just because that's a very compelling argument and it shut Amelia up.

"Well- well- Al! What do you think about this?" Amelia crossed her arms and waited for my response.

I began to whistle the tune in the song "Home."

"Alabama, Arkansas. I do love my Ma and Pa." Kate began to sing. Amelia shrugged and sat on her bed.

"Home! Let me go home! Home is wherever I'm with you." Elaine and Molly came in from the other room and joined in.

"You guys are feeding into her delusion."

"Come one Melia! Don't be a buzzkill." Elaine sat next to Amelia and began to braid her dirty blonde hair.

"Whatever. Just in case you forgot, detention, dears." Amelia got up and so did the rest of us.

Ah, detention. The peaceful room full of rebels- or in our case, girls who hate P.E- who are doing homework. A beautiful way to punish students. A magnificent way to relax. That's not quite how we describe detention.

"First Friday in the school year and we already have detention." Molly tends to be the sensible one in our group. "Good job."

We stood in front of our house and waited for the bus. The Yaxley system was very confusing. How they choose their methods often annoy students.

"It was all Elaine. She decided to ditch the pacer." Kate, was often seen as a weight in our group. Based on the fact that not a lot of people liked her and EVERYONE knew we were all friends.

"Way to point fingers." Elaine is just the criminal in the group. That's all.

And by now you know that Amelia is very opinionated, but what you don't know is that she's also the most insane one in our group. (And the most like able, after me, of course.)

I won't even diss myself. Because, self confidence is highly recommended when you go to Yaxley. Although, it's something I lack.

"And we have class after this." Amelia added. By now, you should also realize that I don't talk a lot. That's because whenever I talk, it's music related. The diary is called "Abnormal Priorities" for God's sake. "What do you have to say, Al?"

"When's the bus getting here...?" I speak in the softest voice but my real friends describe me as egotistical. And they're not wrong.

"Give that girl a medal." Elaine could also be really funny. She's the definition of tough love. "Oh, look. The idiot finally used a GPS."

The bus finally got here. And it's not your standard yellow and black bus. Yaxley busses are black and white and they look intimidating to those of us who are insane.

Amelia went on first, next was Molly, Elaine, then Kate and finally me.

Yaxley busses also move as fast as trains. We picked up some more Rebels and headed to detention tower. Just kidding. It's a regular classroom we use for detention. I just wanted you to think that this psych community wasn't normal. And that's the abnormal thing here. The secluded community meant for psychotic teens is actually normal. Weird.
