The Echo Cave Part 2

Walking back out the cave they noticed the 12 armour clad people were sitting there near a fire. Immediately takeing a defensive stance Rachel prepared for a fight.

"Wait! We dont want to fight. We are here to take cair of the bats just like you." A female voice rang out from one on the Individuals sitting around the fire while holding there hands up twords them.

Rianna had already take off her earmuffs and had them resting around her neck so she could hear around her.

"If thats true then why are you out here and not in there?" Hearing the female knight she asked while she removed Rachel's earmuffs in the same manner so she could hear the conversation.

"We had seen your group also heading this way so we decided to let you have first dibs. Its not like we want to steal others pray, especially when your from the Brotherhood." The female responded while pointing to their cloaks

"Well if you want, the path forks about 200 feet in so you can take the left side and we will take the right." Rachel said testing how truthful they were being.

"Great! Then we will head in with due hast. Will you be resting before heading back in?" The female knight asked after clasping her hands.

"We just killed 3 Echo Bats and decided to rest before continuing." Rachel said as she watched the Knights start to enter the cave.

"Understood. We will try not to kill your share but if they come to our side then its fair game." The female knight said and only followed her men after seeing Rachel nod her head.

"Do other Adventurers always act so nice." Rianna asked Rachel.

"No, they don't. They were from the Knights guild and normally wont let others on their turf. I suggest we clear out the right side fast and return to town as fast as possible. It just sucks we cant get all the kills for ourselves." Rachel said gritting her teeth because once she had a proper look at the group she realized who they were.

"Its ok. I only wanted to clear the cave out and possibly get a level or two." He said.

"Alright then, we will rest for 10 minutes and then head back in. Dont be stingy on useing potions either." Rachel said as she proceeded to use the fire that the Knights left to rest.

Joining her they all rested before returning to the cave and heading back down the right path.

Walking back to were they left off wasnt a problem but when they arrived there was 6 Echo Bats eating the remains of the 3 they killed.

They all considered turning back but then realized they had a golden opportunity right in front of them. Rianna looked at Silver to see if he had the same idea as her but as she looked at him, he was already sending out Mana Strings with both hands.

Quickly joining him Rianna twisted her Mana Strings in a tornado around all the Bats. Doing so was very draining so she drank one of the Mana Potions she was given.

Feeling awful about doing so she looked over only to see Silver doing the same. Seeing this made her feel a little better so she continued useing as much strings as possible with holding a little mana just in case she needs it.

Now ready and waiting Silver looked at Rianna and Rachel hopeing they were ready. Any longer and they might get found out. Seeing Rachel was prepared, he looked at Rianna but she was still moveing her Fingers like she was playing a piano.

He finally could see her stop when one of the Echo Bats lifted its head. When she looked over, he nodded and they both pulled back like ripping down curtains.

The Mana Strings that were surrounding the Echo Bats like a tornado Closed in to creat a cocoon similar to that of a silkworms.

Thinking they might of gone overboard they looked at the cocoon only to see sharp teeth and claws penetrate the outer wall like there was nothing there.

Rachel took this as her que to strike since she knew exactly were the face was. Strikeing and moveing on to the next she would do 3 consecutive jabs before looking for the next set of teeth.

Rianna was only watching her as she used a lot of mana when creating the cocoon and wasnt sure if she could get a strike in that would be effective with a dagger.

Silver also wasnt sure if he could get a strike in or not but there was something he could do to make it harder for them to break out.

Useing Moon Blade on His Mana strings that embodied the inner layer of the cocoon he created a symphony of screeches that were drowned out by the outer layer of the cocoon.

The pure panic they could see from the claws was not something he was expecting. He just wanted to slow them down but it looked to hurt quite a lot.

Even with their earmuffs the horrific sound comeing from within that cocoon was slightly audible. It wasnt to the point that their heads would feel like bursting but it surly wasnt pleasant.

Rachel had to take a step back but seeing more teeth protrude from the cocoon at a even faster rate, she readily started her assault once more. Rachel didnt stop till the teeth stoped appearing. Silver was sweating from useing his mana to the point of needing anouther mana potion but had a smile on his face because a line of text had appeared on his retinas during the fight.

[Leveled up to Level 2]

Looking at the others and the Cocoon that was once blue but is now black from the Echo Bat Blood. He felt like they did good considering they were a group with 2 level 1's and managed to kill 6 level 5 Echo Bats.

Although they just leveled so all their health and mana had returned he thought that this is probably were they should stop for now as even with the level up he used half of the mana he had regained.

Noticeing that Rachel started to tear apart what was left of the cacoon to collect the Fangs from the Echo Bats, he kept watch to make sure nothing came up on them.

When Rachel finished they went back to the entrance to the cave and proceeded to rest for 20 minutes. Periodically they could hear screeching comeing from the cave and they would grab their weapons just in case they needed to fight but nothing ever came out from the cave so they had a relaxing rest.

"Rianna did you also reach Level 2." He asked to which she nodded.

"Where will you put your points?" Saying this he realized there leveling system might be different so he had a slight panic but Rianna Replyed as if it was normal.

"I'll let you decide. I am your subordinate now after all." She replyed.

"What about putting them in a place to help with either your dagger or your Mana Strings? Also put some points into vitality at least till it hits 20 for now." Hearing him she nodded.

"I'll put 10 into my wisdom and 5 into my vitality then." Rianna decided.

"I'm going to do the same as its what we need right now the most." Doing the same he looked at his Status.

Takeing a look at his Status he then looks to the Blue Vines that line the entrance to the cave. Getting up and walking over he cuts some Blue Vines to take with him. "Alicia did say to experiment. I want to see what i can make with Moon Blooms as well but I dont have any sadly. I guess I will have to find some.'

Before returning next to the fire he finds 2 rocks to use as a makeshift mortar and pestle. When he sits down and starts to grind the Blue Vines down to powder, he starts to notice the glow on the Blue Vines dont lessen as he grinds them down but instead increases. The vines also contain a liquid that looks more like a slime than water.

Takeing the Vials that he had saved and no longer have any liquids in them do to being consumed he poured the slime into them without loseing to much of the vine and continued to Grind down the Vine to a powder. Repeating this process until the only thing left is the powdered Blue Vine he puts that into a vile.

Although the finished product did look more like mush than powder. Alicia had used something similar in crating antidotes when she was teaching him so he didnt consider this a failure.

Looking at the 6 Vials infront of him he couldnt help but admire the Blue glow comeing from the powdered vine as it was quight the sight. Almost like a torch but with no heat whatsoever.

Rachel and Rianna have been watching the whole time and looking at the vial with Blue Vine powder makes their eyes glisten. The Blue light was so comforting and looked amazing
