Chapter Thirty: The deceit

You made him go against the law, Ayooni seethed. The vision she saw was too brutal to her mind. Her mother was almost raped while she was carrying her and her father was made a murderer.

The teacher smiled uncannily at her. I helped him see what he could do. He was supposed to be the end of me but what better way to make him tainted if not that way? I couldn't have a fill of your mother though. His eyes closed as he relished the memory. She was exquisite, I wanted her for a long time and she gave herself to him.

While Ayu and the men were trying to wrap the body up, a group of guards came to knock on his door. Your Highness, the king has summoned you to the hall. Hope no problem, Ayu said trying to make his voice even. There is an attack on the shore. Somewhere Ayu felt like he was been played on.

I want you to go head-on, his father had ordered but when Ayu got to the shore there were more minors at the border. Tied in between saving the men, women and children who were changed upside down and saving the kids who have been possessed by an unknown force. Ayu struggled to make a decision thus causing the death of three five-year-olds, ten infants and three raped women. Ayu watched as a boy was forced to rape his mother.

Unable to watch any longer he razed fire on them, rescuing the rest of the hostages. twenty more innocents died because of his powers. His heart grew heavy as the sin weighed higher on his head.

On their way back they were ambushed by Aayan's men. Outnumbered Ayu fought with his life on the line to protect his men but the casualties were great. Getting back to the palace Ayu was met with a frightening scene. Wura was getting stoned while her sisters watched in agony. Ayu felt rage rise and his thirst for the blood of those who harmed her rose in his chest but Wura stopped him in time before he could do anything. We have been framed Wura whispered and the sentence was to have our heads.

Wura splayed her hand over her stomach. She had been wearing big clothes to keep the pregnancy from showing before their wedding. The wedding was just a month away and now this. Resigned to save his family, he met Aayan's eyes Let me speak to father.

He doesn't want to see you brother Aayan said. Is that true? Ayu countered. Why do I have a feeling that he has no idea what is going on currently? Don't push your luck brother Aayan sneered. The five-year-old you killed today was my son. What do you think Father would say if he found out his beloved son killed his only grandchild.

Wura felt her world turned upside down when she saw the hate evident in her eyes.

Wanting to save her. Ayu followed Aayan to see the king. The king threw a parchment at him in anger. You allowed them to kill so many people before taking action he roared. Ayu kept silent as his father reprimanded him. And the men you took with you. I knew you were capable that was why I sent you. And you allowed the death of ten infants.

The king's voice shook in disappointment. I am sorry Father, it won't happen again. The king took a considerable breath. What's done is done, the next time don't be bothered about the age of the men you are fighting. An enemy is an enemy despite their age or gender. 

I want you to ride north this instant with your brother and settle the dispute there. Ayu received the next order knowing this might be the last time he saw the woman he was in love with and he would never see the child they made together.
