Prologue

The door bell rang, waking up a handsome youth who lay down on a comfy couch.

"Finally," he thought, running so fast to answer the door that one would be unable to see him at all.

"Sr. Mikael?" asked the postman.

"It is me indeed," Mikael replied, excited. The postman had come to deliver him his game, Domination Online. The game launch was scheduled to happen at 6 pm, so Mikael still had two hours to prepare himself.

"Here's your package," the postman hand moved, giving to Mikael a small package that contained the thing he wanted the most, the game.

"Are you excited for the game launch today?" asked the postman, trying to somehow start a conversation with Mikael.

"How do you know what is in my package? Are you spying on me?" said Mikael in a serious tone. One would be crazy to spy a strong vampire like him, but he knew humans were fools enough.

"No! Don't get me wrong," the postman's blood pressure rises, and he tried his best to explain himself.

"It's just that everyone's talking about that game, so I thought you would also play it."

They stared at each other for a brief moment, but nothing happened. Mikael wouldn't kill that guy, so they just said goodbye and parted ways.

"Is this game a real sensation?" Mikael thought, excited for the game launch. Life had been quite boring for him, as he had pretty much done everything one could. A thousand years of knowledge and experience. Domination Online was just the thing Mikael needed to experience new things, and the more players the game had the better for him.

There was still two hours for the game launch, so Mikael went for a quick snack, drinking a blood bag. He was not in the mood of leaving his apartment and look for someone to feed.

"I'm lazy today. I just want to play!" that was precisely the reason why he opted for a blood bag.

Time passed slowly, but it finally came; the game launch.

Mikael went to his bedroom, grabbed his silver game helmet, and laid down on the bed. As soon as the helmet was on his head, a voice rang.

Welcome to Domination Online

Everyone around the globe was excited, and the numbers of players inside the game was something astonishing. Mikael had read a lot of guides about the game and had also used his mind magic to get more information for some of the beta testers. Cheating? Maybe, but Mikael wanted every advantage he could get to become the best inside the game.

Now, he was expecting the character creation menu, where one could choose its class and race. But that never happened.

"Did the game bug or something?" Mikael asked himself that, and not long after something happened.

He felt like he was throwing up. A strange sensation, something he had never felt in his thousand years of living. A vortex erupted inside his bedroom; one he couldn't see as his eyes were covered by the game helmet. And in the next moment, the vortex pulled him, sucking him and sending him inside the game.

Everything was a complete darkness, and time felt as slow as a snail. Mikael then opened his eyes, getting to know that the place he was in was unknown to him.

"Where the hell am I? And what did just happen?" he thought. Everything felt like some kind of dream, but a stats screen appeared in front of his eyes, and he somehow discovered what happened.

"Am I inside the game? But why did the character creation tab not show for me?"

Mikael then searched for the logoff button, and he did not find one. He then analyzed his character status and saw that he was not a human, but a vampire.

"Did I got trapped inside the game, like a freaking NPC?"

And just like that, Mikael's adventures started…
