A Vampire in a Game

Earth is a peaceful place for a vampire named Mikael. He is the strongest among all vampires, and nothing on Earth can treat him. But in the year of 2089, this changed. A fully immersive VRMMORPG named Domination Online was launched. Mikael saw the opportunity for an adventure. Inside that game, he would have real challenges. Strong monsters, difficulty quests, war, and duels against players. He would finally have fun. He bought the game on launch and was among the first batch of players to enter the game. Sadly, everything went wrong. The game helmet bugged while scanning his body, as it was not a body of a human, but a vampire. For some unknown reason, he got sucked inside the game, as a weak vampire NPC. Follow Mikael’s adventure as he attempts to find a way out of the game while facing millions of players. Will he get out? Or will he perish against the server?

Discovering

Mikael's thoughts were scrambled, and he waited a few moments to get somewhat better. He then looked at his surroundings, trying to figure out where he was.

It was a forest, and the amount of bushes that place had made almost impossible for Mikael to see. The only good part was that it was night time, so Mikael wouldn't burn like a chicken in a fry pan.

"My stats aren't bad," he thought, looking once again his character tab.

[Name: Mikael] [Race:Vampire(Fledgling)]

[Level: 1] [XP: 0/100]

[Health: 120/120]

[Blood Points: 0/100]

Stats:

Strength: 12

Agility: 9

Endurance: 18

Intelligence: 4

Free Points: 0

The stats weren't that bad. Mikael's endurance was really high. Vampires were hard to kill after all.

He didn't have any active skills yet, but he did have a passive one.

[Child of the Night: Blessed by the power of the Moonlight, you are stronger while receiving the Moonlight rays. Your stats are 10% stronger. You'll have night vision, and will be harder to be detected.

But in the other hand, you are weaker while receiving the sunlight rays, decreasing your stats by 10%. You'll also get constant health damage if directly receiving the sunlight rays. You can use a cloak to avoid that.]

"The stats boost is quite awesome. I should take advantage of that."

Monsters inside Domination Online were stronger during the night, but they also gave more XP to the player. The stats boost coupled with the night vision would for sure help Mikael to kill these monsters at night, leveling up faster than everyone else.

The only problem was that, he wasn't a player. Well, he wasn't certain but everything pointed to him being some sort of NPC. Mikael deducted that the game helmet bugged while scanning his vampire body, but he couldn't explain how the helmet had trapped him inside the game. He was facing a dilemma. If he was a NPC, that meant he wouldn't be able to respawn, like all the players, and unlike Earth, inside the game some beings could potentially kill him.

"Well, I'm not scared. I lived for a thousand years, so screw this. But I don't want to die before exploring this vast game, so no fooling around," Mikael thought, while walking throughout the dense forest.

The place seemed desert, as no village entered Mikael's sight. He wasn't that knowledgeable about the game world map, as it was something the players should explore, and being teleported to some random place also didn't help.

"There's no village, but at least there's a cave," he saw a dark hole, presumably a cave entrance. He knew that it would probably have monsters inside of it, but he needed XP after all, or else he would be this weak vampire forever.

Mikael halted his steps, walking slowly towards the cave entrance. Everything was pitch black, but for Mikael the place was clear as day. He noticed by the corner of his eyes some bugs crawling the cave walls, alongside huge pieces of moss.

"This place looks abandoned," Mikael thought, and not long after he got to know that his prediction was wrong.

[Crimsom Wolf]

[Level 2]

A huge wolf jumped from behind a rock. Its fur had a reddish tone, and its eyes contained a otherworldly hunger.

Mikael wasn't that confident facing that level 2 monster, as he had no idea of how strong it was. But there was no way he would be able to get out, so fighting was the only thing he could do.

"Let's fight damned beast. Let me show you how a real vampire fight," he yelled, dashing towards the wolf. Mikael didn't have any weapon at all, so his knowledge about swordart would be useless. It as a good thing that he also learned tons of bare fist fighting styles. The perk of having a thousand years.

A sharp claw came to his direction. Mikael performed a sidestep, and the claw passed right near his left eye. He could feel the wind behind that attack, but that didn't stop him. Mikael twisted his body, making sure to use all of his core strength, landing a punch right on the wolf face.

13 Damage Dealt

"Not bad, not bad." The wolf couldn't resist to his punch, flying four meters away. Blood dripped for its face, and Mikael noticed how fearful the wolf face was.

"I'm not finished with you yet, hahaha!" Mikael laughed out loud, dashing once again towards the wolf, punching and kicking it non stop.

The monster didn't even get a chance to fight back, getting spanked by Mikael.

"All right, let's clean up this place,"
