36. Miriam duped me!
When I woke up in the middle of the night, the two spots on either side of me were empty. My two knights were gone. I shouldn't have been surprised since they were wearing suits when we had the brunch.
The events of earlier in the day came back to me and I found myself blushing. I was in a green silk nightdress instead of the naked state I had slept in.
That must have been the doing of Zeus. He was the gentle and caring one of the pair. I switched on the lamp and saw some food and a note on top of the lid covering the food.
The note said:
Eat something. We'll be back soon.

I smiled and looked at the food covered by the lid. It was fried chicken, some rice, and salad. I slowly ate the food while drowning in my own thoughts.
When I was done, I took the tray that had the food out of Kai's bedroom with me, but not before putting on a robe. I found a guard outside and I handed him the plate to give to a maid.
