"Have you heard the news? The Leng family from the 5 aristocrat had found their eldest daughter, Leng Ruoxue, who has been missing for 10 years."
"Leng Ruoxue? Who's that Leng Ruoxue?"
"Then aren't things going to be interesting? The Leng family has four sons and two daughters. The second daughter Leng Shu'er is known as the school beauty in Winter High. But who's this Leng Ruoxue, who popped out of nowhere? Must be some nobody."
"She must be trying to climb up the upper echelon by claiming the Eldest Miss. Even if she's really the 'Eldest Miss of the Leng family', it's just a title. Didn't she hear how the three young masters of the Leng family dote on Leng Shu'er?"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk... That will be difficult."
"Hey, don't say such things. That's like a sparrow wanting to become a phoenix."
"It's better if she's decent looking but I heard that she's an ugly duckling and a good-for-nothing."
...
The ugly duckling that the people who had been gossiping about was walking in the crowds with her eyes glued in to her phone. She was catching everyone's attention.
Even though there was a lot of people in the airport she still stood out among them. It was understandable why she earned the title 'The Villainess' from her looks alone. She looked unapproachable, her aura was emitting the air of arrogance and confidence. She had a stunning appearance, but at the same time, she harbored icy, distant impression that kept other people at arm's length.
[Dr. LX when will you publish all of your research? It's been two years since you publish your first research in Sacred Heart but you didn't publish them in public at all...] The message was sent three hours ago.
International Sacred Heart Medical Research Centre- As interesting as the name suggest not everyone would be given access to this website. Only people with authorization code could access it.
The website was an archive for academic theses collected from many research centres across the globe. The membership was open only to the medical elites.
[Maybe next month... Don't bother me anymore. I'm at the airport.]
[Oh, so that's why you didn't reply to me. HAHAHA and here I thought that you were ignoring me... But I thought you're not going anywhere this month, what change?]
Leng Ruoxue who was glued to her phone frown. Her face has a 'Don't talk to me' words written on it in a capital letter.
[My family found me...]
[Ohh, you mean your biological family?]
After reading the message her furrows deepened. Now she looks like a demon queen who was pissed off and would eat everyone who would try to approach her.
The word 'biological family' and 'blood related family' was taboo for her. If the one who send her that message was her in front of her right now she would've thrown him into the slum for mentioning the word 'biological family'. Never mind, she would save it when they would meet for the first time.
"You... Are you Meng Ruoxue?"
A man and a woman's voice rang out at the same time. The three of them looked at each other for a 10 seconds.
'Just when did 10 seconds became this long?'
The couple who stood in front of Leng Ruoxue was a couple in their late forties.
She looked up and cast her gaze on the black sedan that was park not far from where she stood.
The logo of the car indicated that this was a Volkswagen. The shape of the car was smooth, managing to establish a strong presence.
The wind blew her shiny moon-like hair.
Leng Ruoxue's curly black waist-length hair was dancing in the wind.
Her skin was enviably fair, and her features were undoubtedly beautiful.
Upon seeing her, the two people stood up with a bit excitement and looked at her expectantly. Unconsciously, the corners of their eyes were wet.
Their daughter looked so beautiful and it was obvious how much care their foster parents had put into them all those years. They must love Ruoxue so much.
Leng Ruoxue looked at her strange but familiar mother and revealed a smile.
The three of them just stood there quietly, being indifferent, so amazing that they were even an awe-inspiring.
Although they were related by blood, Mrs. Leng knew it was difficult for an adolescent child to accept a mother appearing out of blue.
"Ah... Yes, I'm Meng Ruoxue."
She said and nodded to the couple in a polite but distant way.
...
...
Inside the car the atmosphere was eerie and quiet.
At first Mrs. Leng would occasionally question her but Leng Ruoxue would only answer a word of two. There was no unnecessary word when she answer the questions.
Mrs. Leng stopped questioning her since she thought that Leng Ruoxue was introvert and timid.
Leng Ruoxue was sitting quietly at the back of the car she was reading an Advanced English Mathematics Book. She indeed look introverted and timid; she gave of the vibe of a good student, this type of student were teachers favorite; but that was just her outer appearance, when she opened her mouth and spoke few words she can already anger people to their death.
"Ruoxue, me and your dad's going to state and stay there for a few months. If you need anything just call us or your brother, okay?"
Mrs. Leng finally spoke up after a long silence, he voice was soft and gentle.
Leng Ruoxue was taken aback by what Mrs. Leng said, but she immediately get her composure back. "Hmm, 'kay."
Leng Ruoxue was supposed to go back to the Leng family next month...
Just what the hell change?
It surely wasn't her change of behavior right? Surely not, her behavior doesn't have that much impact.
Never mind, never mind...
"Ruoxue, your surname has been changed to Meng to Leng. Your household registration and legal guardian have also been change. From today onwards, you are the eldest daughter of the Leng family."
"Oh, okay."
