New apartment

Tobin was rudely woken up by a sound in the middle of the night. He scanned his room very well and listened closely to know if he would hear the sound again as he wasn't sure where the sound had come from.

Suddenly he heard the sound again and funny enough it was a grumbling sound from his stomach. It was a clear sign of hunger and he knew that it would be impossible to ignore now that he was awake.

Tobin is a twenty year old white longed haired young man who just moved into a new apartment with his parents Dr and Dr Mrs. Harvey. He was the only child of his parents hence he had no choice than to move with them as they hold him very dear to their heart. His parents were both Ph.D holders of Ancient history.

The new apartment was a four bedroom house located on the outskirt of the town and it was a really strenuous Job for Tobin that day moving in.

He was saddled with the responsibility of moving all the heavy stuff since he was well built. The only time he received help from his father was when whatever he was to carry was very delicate especially when it comes to any object of history.

He had worked so much that day that he went straight to bed without eating by the time he was done hence he was woken up by the pangs of hunger.

He sluggishly picked himself from his bed and headed straight for the kitchen. He had doubts if there would be any prepared food since his mother didn't make out time to prepare any food befor they came. He knew she would have no strength to do so either after the arrangements of things in the new house.

So he wasn't disappointed when he didn't see any home made food in the kitchen. He headed straight for the refrigerator with the intention to prepare cornflakes for himself. At least that should be able to sustain him. His eyes caught sight of an half filled can of milk in the refrigerator and a smile played across his face. He knew someone must have already taken this path he was about to take out of hunger.

He scanned the kitchen confused on where his mother must have kept the cereals in the house. If it was their former place it would have been an easy thing for him to locate.

He looked around again and this time noticed a door at one end of the kitchen for the first time. Tobin looked at the door closely to be sure he wasn't dreaming. He knew for sure that there was no door leading to anywhere in the kitchen as at when they moved in this morning. The door was a metallic one painted red. It was the only metal door in the house and Tobin wonders why.

Infact he had hoped for the store house to be linked with the kitchen like it was done in their former apartment hence it was one of those things he looked out for when they moved in but then there was no door anywhere. One had to completely leave the kitchen to access the store room.

Tobin walked to the door befor him with careful steps. He didn't know what to expect. Or was he too busy to notice the door? But the door he is was looking at now was a big one and cannot be missed or was it possible it was covered by something befor? He wondered as he got the door. For sure anything not found in the kitchen must have been kept here.

He stretched out his hand to open the door but discovered it was locked. He looked closely to discover there was even no key hole on the door making him confused on how it was possible for the door to be locked.

"Who would even make a door without a place for a key and was the door controlled from a switched inside the kitchen? He asked himself looking at the kitchen not sure of what he should be looking for.

He tried the door once more again making sure to apply more force but being careful not to make too much noise. He didn't want to incure the wrath of his parents for disturbing their sleep.

And just like before the door refused to open. He was not even able to turn the handle of the door.

He walked from the side of the door in frustration as he decided to extend his search for something to eat to the cabinet. Just as he took few steps from the door. It automatically opened on its own startling Tobin a little as he wasn't expecting the door to open.

He looked through the door but saw nothing. It was totally dark on the other side of the door. Almost at the same moment he became to feel a rush of cold wind on his face coming from the door. He wondered what was happening as he began to take steps backward in a bid to flee at any slight sight

Suddenly a young man stepped in from the other side of the door with an excited look on his face.
