Soren had finished re-watching the last episode in the famous Supernatural series just as his barely-working laptop finally petered out. Its power source—a makeshift battery that he had made himself from bits and pieces of debris—lost that last bit of power just as the episode ended with the director calling out "...and cut!"

In his current era, the apocalypse had been around for twenty years. There had been no angels fighting or Demons being raised from the ground, but his world had been transformed by an all-powerful System.

When the System integrated with his world, Soren—along with all 8.1 billion people—had rolled a grave stroke of misfortune. It had been selected to turn their world into a similar environment as a Soulsborne game. People were constantly devouring souls and imbibing echoes of ancient blood to gain power over this desolate world, yet Soren was no different.

He devoured souls and drank blood echoes to raise himself to the maximum level that the System allowed, but in his current time, there was only him left.

Soren was only eighteen when the System came to his world. Now, at only 38 years old, he was the last living creature in a dead world. There were many titles he carried, but even now, his tired soul wanted to be released.

"Damn it," Soren muttered to himself as his voice—rustic and deep from misuse—felt raw. With a slight click of his tongue, he got up towards his decayed laptop and tried to get the disc containing the last few seasons of the show out of its player.

Soren had no idea when he had appeared in this dark gray void nor how he did, but the familiar System prompt made him think that he had died somehow. Even as the world ended and he reached the maximum level, he read stories—both original and fanfiction—where the MCs are given a chance to live again in a new world.

Not to mention how annoying some of those stories became when the MC lost their humanity in favor of some kind of perceived strength inherent to other species.

Luckily for him, the System seemed to be benevolent and granted him a new life after giving him hell. For this alone, Soren was apprehensive.

"W-what?" Soren spoke out as he looked over the screen that said he achieved the final achievement. "Does this mean what I think it means?!"

The screen then shifted from his achievement to something else.

Filled with gods and magic, this world grants those who know of the show or diehard fans of it to live their lives as extras that do not necessarily have to follow the plans set by God/Chuck.

Soren felt like it was a dream come true. Even now—within this void with nothing more than a mere System screen—his very being was ecstatic.

Elated with a sense of joy and adventure that seemed to get re-ignited after all that time, Soren clicked "Yes."
