Chapter 28: Guns.

Without any functioning lamppost, the streets were quite dark so Kennen took the flashlight with them.

They didn't encounter any monsters on their short little trip to the embassy so were able to arrive in a dozen of minutes.

"Wait! I can see ten or so armored pigs in there." Enzo warned them before they got too close.

This basically confirmed that the invasion wasn't something specific to their hotel.

"Let's quickly help them out!" Frank said.

Frank rushed in with Oxyotl and the goblins in tow while Enzo started to shoot from distance.

A full on brawl on the courtyard started.

Their initial assault took the armored orcs by surprise and they succeeded in reducing half of their number thanks to that.

Only six armored orcs remained in the courtyard and three of them went for Oxyotl.

So Rafael helped by binding one of them back as he couldn't bind more since the armored orcs would break free of them easily if the binding were too thin.

Oxyotl was nearly as big as an armored orc so when an armored orc charged at him with a club lifted high into the air, ready to smash him to pieces, Oxyotl just gave the armored orcs three new holes on his neck before the orc could even get close with the superior reach of the trident.

The second armored orc was right behind and swung his club at Oxyotl who had quickly recovered and blocked the strike.

Oxyotl showed he was just as strong in raw power as he pushed the club away and skewered the second orc.

He didn't have time to finish off the third one as the others were already done with their respective opponent so Frank helped out by finishing off the binded armored orc.

"That's the last of them."

"Let's get inside."

They quickly entered the building and saw it was a mess with broken furnitures etc…

It wasn't like that the last time they visited since the people at the embassy cleaned it up but it seemed that they would have to clean it up once again.

Kennen and his friends didn't bother to search the building and just straight went to the security room where they found the survivors the first time.

"It's Frank! The building is safe now!"

Frank bangged on the steel door and McDermott came out shortly after along with the ambassador.

"You guys took care of the orcs?" Corporal McDermott asked.

Frank nodded in affirmation while Kennen did a headcount and found that nobody was missing from the embassy side.

"Impressive, how did you guys do it?" McDermott asked in curiosity.

"They're dumb and slow, just get close and make sure you don't get hit, then you can easily strike the exposed neck." Rafael advised the soldier like he was a war veteran.

"Wait, don't you have guns?" Enzo asked.

"Only the AR has a big enough caliber to get through their armor and sadly, I'm not good enough to headshot that many monsters in limited vision at night when they are charging me." McDermott gave them a self-deprecating smile.

"Sadly, we just don't have enough guns or ammo to recklessly use them…" Ambassador Rogers said honestly.

Kennen nodded in understanding.

It was after all just a small embassy in a little island.

However the talk of guns made him think of where he could possibly find some of them in this island.

If he had to guess, it would probably be in a police station or a military caserne but was there even a military caserne here?

So he just asked the person who was the most likely to know.

"Do you know where we can find guns here?"

"In the police stations. I remember there was a police station east of here, around 20 minutes of walk and the police HQ south of there but it's all small caliber pistols. The police here don't have any heavy weapons, hell, they generally don't even carry a weapon with them."

Colin Rogers didn't hide and tried his best to tell them where it was.

With that intel, they knew where they would be going on their next expeditions.

"Would there be any attack tonight?" McDermott asked them.

"Shouldn't be. It's once every week I think." Frank replied.

"Alright… thank you for helping us again." Coling Rogers gratefully said, "I'm sure you guys are tired. We'll be fine here so you guys can go back. We are just going to clean the mess again and try to build a sturdier door at the entrance of the building."

"Alright."

Kennen and his friends left the embassy shortly after the goblins were done collecting the crystals.

Back at the hotel, Enzo and Amelia were also done collecting the crystals.

Kennen filled them in on how the people at the embassy were doing before they pooled all the crystals they got tonight to count them.

They successfully got 56 crystals tonight, which was a big haul for one day.

It was enough to boost Evan to 100 crystals count but in the end, everyone decided to just split the loot evenly between them.

They weren't in a hurry to rank up anyway.

The team spent some time cleaning things up before they went back to their room to rest.

"Haha! Did you see Michael's face last night? That b*tch was shook!" Evan laughed.

"I bet he didn't expect us to deal with those orcs so easily!" Rafael also laughed.

"Maybe he'll start being less cocky and finally stop being a b*tch!" Enzo added.

"I doubt he'll ever change." Kennen said.

His friends and him were talking about Michael's expression they saw when they were going back to their room.

Michael had a very solemn and displeased face. He probably expected them to have a dead member trying to deal with the horde or at least have an injured.

But Kennen had serious doubt Michael would change his attitude toward them, Michael didn't seem the type of guy to be humble.

"I hope we'll be able to get some guns in the police stations. Tired of being a CC bot." Rafael said.

Kennen remembered that Rafael was a gun aficionado and actually owned not one, not two,, not three, but many guns at his house back in the US. Kennen saw some of his collection and had to admit it was quite extensive.

They didn't have a map so they had to walk through every street to check out whether the police station was on that street or not.

In the end, it took quite some time but they did find the police stations but it was quite conspicuous and small police stations.

The apartment that Kennen was renting was probably bigger than this police station.

"It doesn't look like it got guns inside…" Kennen muttered.

"Well, we'll only know when we go through it." Frank said.

They went in and searched the building, it didn't long with how small it actually was and they found nothing.

No guns to there.

"Hey, I found a map." Enzo said and showed them a map plastered on the wall, "There's another police station nearby, and it's the headquarters."

Kennen looked at the map and saw Royal Bahamas Police Force Headquarters marked on the map and it was just a bit south of where they were.

Then he saw the Royal Bahamas Police Marine Force just north of here too.

There was also a hospital nearby this police station, it seemed that everything was huddled together at the same place on this island.

"Where are we going first?" Kennen asked.

"Mmh, let's go to the headquarters first." Frank decided.

Nobody in the team really cared where they went first so they just followed after Frank.

The Police HQ was certainly bigger than the previous police station they searched as it was a complex with multiple small buildings.

"Let's split up and search." Kennen suggested.

His friends nodded and everyone went to their own building.

The building Kennen went to seemed to be the jail.

Well, the place certainly didn't stock any guns and what he found wasn't exactly pleasant.

There were two decomposing corpses in one of the cells.

Probably two people who were unlucky to be locked up there when the monsters invaded and got forgotten.

It also seemed that no monsters came to finish them off either so they probably slowly died an agonizing death of dehydration and those poor people probably only got locked up for minor offenses.

The stench was unbearable so Kennen left and searched another building.

They were able to find some guns at the end of day but it was just little handguns and there were only four of them along with ten or so boxes of munition.

"No way they only have this many guns in here." Rafael said.

"The cops probably took out the big guns when the invasion happened." Kennen said.

The cops would be incredibly dumb to not to.

"Meaning we just have some old ass, weak ass, glocks." Rafael sighed in disappointment, "This gun probably wouldn't be able to kill that giant wolf even if you shot at its head."

"Well, better than nothing, right?" Frank was still happy with the loots.

The four glocks went to Rafael, Frank, Amelia and Kennen.

Enzo was an archer so no need for a gun.

Brandi was holding a sword and Evan, well , he didn't need it as much as the others.

Kennen did touch some of Rafael guns but never actually fired a gun before and couldn't practice either with the lack of munition they currently had.

He just hoped he wouldn't majorly screw up when time for him to use it came up.

Then, they opted to go to the maritime force near the beach even if the hospital was just on the next street.

It was a proper hospital with how large it was but they didn't really need anything there so they could always visit it later.

It was quite weird.

Kennen noticed they hadn't encountered a single monster since the beginning of this expedition.

He voiced his concerns to his friends.

"Right… maybe we got them all last night?" Evan said.

"I don't think so, it wasn't the case the first time." Kennen really doubted that they killed them all.

"Shit, what are we going to farm now if they are really gone?" Enzo said.

"Is that really a bad thing that they are gone? It would be great if this ended and everything was safe again." Frank wasn't bothered by the fact there were no monsters anymore but instead welcomed it.

But Kennen thought that things couldn't be that easy.

Every time things got easy for them, the situation would suddenly amp up in danger as if someone was playing a game with them.

So this certainly didn't announce anything good.

However, it didn't matter as he and his friends would be ready.

They didn't make it this far for nothing.

At the marine force, they were able to find some boats in there but it was the small kind.

Kennen doubted they would be able to get to Miami with a small boat like that even though there wasn't that much distance between the Bahamas and Miami.

Unfortunately, no guns were found there.

"F*ck, there ain't shit here." Evan said.

"At least we got some boats out of this." Frank dangled the boat's keys.

"I don't think that boat will take us far." Kennen said.

"We can use it in an emergency. It can at least take us half way through and we can swim the other half." Frank proposed.

"Hell no! What if there's monsters in the water? We'll be helpless in water, this ain't monster hunter!" Enzo instantly rebuked.

"Right! I rather die on land than swim in the ocean!" Rafael added.

Kennen also nodded in agreement.

It would be safe to assume that the sea also contained monsters.

"Chill, it was just a suggestion." Frank laughed.

"Where are we going now?" Amelia asked.

All eyes were turned on Kennen,

"I don't know, the hospital?"

A big place like that hospital should have some monsters for them to grind.

The group set off for the hospital nearby the police HQ and it didn't take long to reach the place without any monsters interrupting their travel.

At the entrance of the hospital, there were eight to ten armored orcs.

They were all fully armored but that wasn't a problem for them anymore.

As they were about to start their first hunt of the day, they heard a voice coming from one of the alleyways.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you guys."
