All the stress from everything that was going on, him being the Commander of the Troops was too big a burden on him. He had to be present with them at all times, provide them with their needs. Show them that he wasn't moved up or shaken with the war that was a few weeks away from them…which he was. He has to admit that he was shaken up, but he wasn't planning to allow that to take the better of him.
