That's a Chicken, Alright

Although she is not sure what to do other than to touch the monster with the gloves, Elaina is determined to succeed. If she succeeds, she will no longer need to buy chickens as she can tame one for the farm without the need to spend a single gold.

"Sis, what are we going to do next?"

As Elaina is trying to remember what to do next, the goddess of taming gives her the instruction.

"[Make sure to touch or hold the monster you are trying to tame. You can attack them but don't kill them. It doesn't matter whether they are almost dead or they are healthy. But it is more ideal that they are healthy than they are dying. Just make sure no other monsters or anyone else interrupt the process. If you start the process, don't let go of the monster or creature until it is tamed. And that is why if you want to tame something, find someone to back you up.]"

Elaina can tell it is not a simple thing. It sounded so simple yet this is also not the same case. After all, the monster before her is still dangerous. It might look like a chicken but it is also known to have killed many careless adventurers.

"Listen, Julia. Back me up while I capture that Hencluckle. If there are any other monsters nearby, don't hesitate to kill them."

Julia still looks confused after hearing the orders of Elaina but she decides it's not worth the effort of asking more questions as she would know what will happen later on.

Elaina went into ambush mode as she crouched and slowly approached the Hencluckle. Although the Hencluckle is very similar to chickens, because they are round and their head is part of their whole body, they are not that capable of detecting danger behind them. Because of this, whenever they are in danger, they will start attracting other monsters with their cries, causing the other monsters to arrive at the scene and using the chaos it caused, will then use this chance to flee. Still, even with this skill, they are easily preyed on by predators and killed by adventurers, sometimes, making this ability a double-edged sword at times for them but because they are fast at reproducing, they don't go extinct that fast even if they are hunted for sport or for the intention of erasing them from existence.

In short, they lay tons of eggs in a few days. Perfect for Elaina's purpose of getting an alternative chicken.

...

While Elaina is busy trying to catch the Hencluckle, the two gods are looking at the situation with varying reactions. One is very worried about Elaina while the other is watching the situation unfold.

"This is ridiculous and dangerous. She would have less hassle and work to do if she just bought a chicken instead of doing this kind of dangerous task especially with her being pregnant. If the Goddess of Fertility and Birth would see this, she would reprimand both of us for doing this to a pregnant woman!" the Unknown God voiced out his concerns.

"Now, now. You know that it is not that taxing and dangerous. Elaina is much stronger than normal humans and even if she is pregnant, she knows how to handle her body well. And it's not like the Hencluckle would be that dangerous to tame with. You, yourself did the design of that creature yourself so you should be the one who knows the most about it. So don't be a worrywart, just believe in her."

...

While the two gods are arguing, Elaina manages to get close to the Hencluckle. She has hunted one before and eaten one for its meat and she can say that this is very similar if not a one-to-one copy with the chicken, only much more dangerous and wild.

As the Hencluckle remained oblivious to her presence, she immediately grabbed the Hencluckle behind and let the gloves do its wonders which caused the creature to be so surprised that it would start flailing around and start to make noises.

"Sis! It seems to be calling for reinforcements!"

"Do your thing, Julia! Smack them hard!"

Hearing that Julia started to conjure spells and is now ready to defend Elaina from any dangers. As for Elaina, she is struggling to keep the Hencluckle as it is now trying to leave from the hands of Elaina.

"I...didn't expect...a Hencluckle...urgh...would be this...strong!"

Elaina is having trouble keeping the Hencluckle on hold especially with how strong and how it moves a lot.

While Elaina is still keeping the Hencluckle, the other monsters who heard the Hencluckle's cry started to appear. Julia who is already getting her spells ready started to fire her spells towards the monsters without any mercy. Using a variety of spells in different elements, she managed to keep all of them at bay.

Elaina continues to hold the Hencluckle tightly as it struggles. Although she is now starting to get impatient with the taming process, it finally has gained a result.

All of a sudden, the Hencluckle on her hands disappeared without a trace as it got teleported somewhere.

"Wha-? What happened?"

"[Congrats, dear Elaina! You have tamed a Hencluckle successfully! You would find your newly tamed monster back at your Farm's chicken coop!]"

"Oh? That was it? I thought there would be more trouble?"

"[Hencluckle is much easier to tame as they are not that strong and are easily defeated, making them an easy tameable monster with the gloves. So it won't take long before it will be tamed. It won't be the same from other monster types though so don't expect it to be short like this next time.]"

With the Hencluckle tamed, Elaina pulled out her sword and assisted Julia in dispatching the remaining monsters that were called by the Hencluckle she just tamed.

Compared to the Hybrid Dire Wolf last time, the monsters this time around are much easier to kill and they are easily destroyed before they become a problem. Most of the kills were done by Julia though and the other kills were just done as a finisher by Elaina. Nevertheless, in just a matter of minutes, the enemies are dead and the place is peaceful once again.

"Since we didn't forage today, let's gather these carcasses and bring them back to the farm. We can use their materials or perhaps ship a few of them for extra money."

"Good idea, Sis. Maybe we can use the materials we got from them to make something as well. Like some accessories or tools."

"There are indeed plenty of uses for them. We shouldn't waste them. Let's tie these carcasses before we should head back."

Elaina grabbed a piece of wood that was lying nearby and using the rope that she brought with her in case she needed it for the taming was now used to bring the dead monsters back to the farm.

"This is a great haul, sis!"

"Indeed. That's thanks to you."

Julia smiled as Elaina praised her. Then, she remembered something that she had meant to ask earlier but was distracted by the carcasses.

"Uh, sis? Can I ask what happened to the Hencluckle? I don't see it among the carcasses that we killed and I don't see it being around us either. You said earlier that you were planning to tame it, right? Where is it now?" Julia asked as she looked around Elaina.

"Oh, that? Wait until we reach the farm, we will be seeing it there."

Julia didn't ask more as Elaina didn't say anything more than that. She is curious but that answer alone is enough for Julia to know that she won't know the answer unless they arrive home.

...

...

...

It was a short trip from the dungeon. The rain is still pouring though it's not that strong compared to the rain during the early morning. Elaina put down the dead bodies outside the house and dried themselves from the rain.

"Looks like the rain will not stop until this evening huh?"

"Yeah. We should consider Jacob to build us a shed for the purpose of dismantling monster corpses. Doing it inside the house is a bit unsanitary and the smell of the blood will take a long time to remove as well. We should make that as one of the necessary stuff we should build in the future."

Julia then remembered her earlier question to Elaina and she didn't forget to ask Elaina about it again.

"Sis, we have arrived home, can you tell me now what happened to that monster?"

"Yeah. Let's go to the coop then."

Julia is a bit confused but she followed Elaina who went straight to the chicken coop. Elaina entered the coop first and she nodded in satisfaction.

"Yep, its definitely here. Come inside, Julia. The answer to your question is here."

Julia enters the door and her gaze immediately landed to the creature in front of them, currently resting on the roost that are meant for the chickens."

Julia nodded after knowing the answer to her question to Elaina.

Yep, that's a chicken, alright... Wait, wait, wait. That shouldn't be right. How is a Hencluckle acting like a docile chicken all of a sudden?!"
