Chapter 40 A Complicated Man

Arianna's POV

I stood, holding Ambrose's hand as I looked at Matthias slinging Orion's figure over his shoulder but before he jumped up to fly away, he turned to smile at me.

"I'll be alright, mother. I'll get along with father better when he forgets everything he's done, even though he won't know who I am... I'll see you in the distant future," I walked up to him and stroked his hair back, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek.

"I love you... Be happy," I whispered.

He blinked and slowly nodded, the smile turning into a grin as he pushed off the ground and flew away. I made sure to watch after him until he was out of sight and turned back to look at my husband and Dorian.

I went and took hold of Ambrose's hand again as he kissed the side of my head.

"You're definite that you want reincarnation?" Dorian said and I nodded my head.

"Heaven won't feel like heaven without Ambrose," I said.
