“About my height, dark hair, mustache, unshaven.”
“In other words, your clone,” Walt commented with a laugh. “Okay, I’ll leave you be.”
When he got downstairs, his wife was back. She asked him what was going on with Vance, and he told her what little he knew. He finished by saying, “I have a feeling, and I could be wrong, but I think she was killed on the job.”
“He blames himself for that?”
“Knowing Van, probably.”
Alice shook her head. “Poor man—and that poor boy. Who has him do you know?”
“Van didn’t say other than it’s not family. The only family he seems to have had is his mother, and probably Van.”
“And obviously Theo’s not with him, which is sad.”
“If you ask me, it’s because seeing the boy would bring back every memory Van has of Ginna. Not that he isn’t remembering anyway but, well…”
