Chapter 8: Giving back

"Urgh Cora. The idiot is cheating on you!"

*Gasp*, Lihua realised what she had just said and covered her mouth,

"What? what do you mean, and, how would you even know that?", Cora looked as if she might break any minute and stared at Lihua incredulously

"Cora, I...", She opened and closed her mouth, She was fighting an inward battle. She couldn't exactly tell her friend she had died and been reincarnated, no sane person would believe something that sounded that far-fetched,

"Sigh, I can't tell you how I know this, but you know I would never lie to you, just trust me, Cora, break up with him"

Lihua felt a little depressed for her friend. She and He Tao had already been dating for three years and Cora really liked him. It was too bad the person she had fallen in love with was such a two-faced b***ard that was using her for her family name. Unfortunately, Cora had only found this out after a year of her marriage and had lost it when she had caught him cheating on her,

Cora looked hesitant and lost for words, but Lihua couldn't blame her, after all, she had just been told by her best friend to break up with the love of her life,

"I'm sorry Cora, but I just don't want you to regret it later. If it helps I can do it for you",

Still unsure but yet unwilling to doubt her best friend, she sighed in defeat, "Alright, you can do it ",

"Oh thank you. You have no idea how hard that was for me", She hugged Cora and patted her face in relief

She then sat back down while holding Cora's phone, an evil glint in her eye

Cora didn't need to see what Lihua was writing to know what that look on her face meant, She could almost feel pity for him, well, almost.

"Alright then, let's get you two into hair and makeup. Lihua you'll be taking the white dress, Jiao, you'll get the black one"

Su Lihua, Su Jiao and their managers had arrived in a black nanny van, they had been welcomed by the stage manager and had been briefed on certain things,

History was a fairly new brand, but it had been growing rapidly due to its expertise, embrace of fashion from the past and addition of cultural heritage. Their newest release was called 'Rebirth'. It celebrated Chinese culture with a bit of a modern touch,

"What is it, Jiao?", Yao Boqin looked sideways at Su Jiao who was a bit hesitant and sad,

"Oh, nothing much. It's just that I'd prefer to have the white dress, but since it was given to Lihua I'm not gonna make a fuss"

"Well then...", Yao Boqin turned to face Lihua and Xie Yan, "Do you mind switching dresses?"

"I don't think that would be appropriate"

"It's alright Xie Yan," She turned to Jiao and Yao Boqin, "It's fine, I don't mind"

Xie Yan was momentarily shocked, since when was Lihua so magnanimous?

Unknown to Xie Yan, magnanimity was the last thing on Lihua's mind, she had a good reason for it, but that wasn't what was important right now, what was important was giving back.
