A Second Chance [BL, Fanfic]

This is a fanfic for 2ha by Meatbun Does Not Eat Meat (Dumb Husky and His White Cat Shizun) I am the original author of the fanfic, by the way. It is also posted on AO3. Chu Wanning died at the last battle at Heavenly Lake. He could not kill TaXian-Jun at the end, and was instead transmigrated into his younger self along with Mo Ran after the latter killed himself. Chu Wanning was given a second chance to make things right. Could he or could he not change the course of events and save both his disciple and the world? This fanfic will be written mainly from Chu Wanning's perspective. -------- Image is obviously not mine, taken from official 2ha manhua :) Please support the original artist and canon author!!!

SWEET DREAM, SHIZUN (5)

The meditation manual was quickly shut close by a horrified Mo Ran. Chu Wanning looked up at Mo Ran and threw him a quizzical look.

"I don't get it," he said innocently. "The picture had nothing to do with the text. Also, why do they stick together so closely?"

Chu Wanning's cheeks flushed red.

"I am untalented. I shall ask Shizun when he comes back."

In his mind, Mo Ran pictured Chu Wanning showing Master Huaizui the erotic art. For some reason, the latter would find out that it was Mo Ran's handiwork. What would Master Huaizui do if he found out that Mo Ran soiled innocent Chu Wanning's eyes with a picture of two men having sex??? Cold sweat ran down from his temples.

Mo Ran gently wrenched the "Art of Meditation" away from Chu Wanning.

"Wanning must not ask Master Huaizui about it. It is just a silly drawing made by some insolent disciple. Showing it to Master Huaizui will only make him mad."

And then he will tie me up and hang me upside down from the ceiling for eternities...

Chu Wanning did not understand. "But why would Shizun be mad?"

"... B-b-because..."

Mo Ran's head was spinning like insane. Seven years might not be too young to meditate but definitely too young to know about the dirty deeds between two adults, right? At what age did Chu Wanning learn about sex? Wait, did he ever? Maybe he never did! He was quite shocked when Mo Ran first took his virginity in the past life!

"Because?"

Chu Wanning blinked at Mo Ran while tilting his head gently to the side. His phoenix eyes brimmed with a scholar radiance that threatened to exorcise Mo Ran from the face of the earth.

-Chu Wanning, you... Let me go, okay? Just don't ask anymore... I beg you.

"Does Mo Ran not know? Then we can ask Shizun together. He won't be mad."

"NO WAIT I DO KNOW!"

"..."

Mo Ran grabbed Chu Wanning's shoulder and looked him deep in the eyes.

"That picture was... It s-s-shows dual cultivation method."

-... Can someone please kill me?

"Dual cultivation?"

"Y-y-yes..."

"Is it beneficial to advance cultivation for both of them?"

"Y-y-yes..."

"Oh, I see."

Mo Ran exhaled out of relief. He felt so sluggish that his knees might buckle at any time. Now that the crisis had passed, they could finally enjoy dinner together.

Mo Ran set the "Art of Meditation" aside and smiled. He started to pick up all the books and scrolls that were scattered on the floor. Chu Wanning's tendency to make a mess seemed to start since childhood.

"Why don't we tidy up the library first, and then we have dinner? Today we will have Gudong Soup for dinner, I..."

Mo Ran was unable to continue. He was holding a bunch of scrolls and books in his arms, and a warm body was pressing against his back. He froze on spot instantly.

".....…....."

The silence in the library was deafening, but Mo Ran's heart was akin to an erupting volcano. The lava inside was churning, splashing against the inner walls, and threatened to shoot out.

Chu Wanning put his arms around Mo Ran, his lips floating dangerously near Mo Ran's neck. When Chu Wanning's soft breath blew at Mo Ran's neck and delivered the sweet haitang scent into Mo Ran's nose, the latter did not dare to breathe anymore.

"Was it like this? Mo Ran, are you feeling anything?"

Oh yes, he did feel something. Something big and hard. A traitorous body part that refused to obey the master. Mo Ran was unable to hear what Chu Wanning was saying. He was busy with himself.

-Don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard don't get hard. Stop it stop it stop it stop it AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Chu Wanning looked at Mo Ran's side profile in confusion. The man in front of him looked as if he had just been struck by thunder. And he was sweating a lot too.

"Mo Ran?"

Chu Wanning furrowed his brows.

"Hmm, I don't feel anything either. We really should ask Shizun. If not done properly, any cultivation method can lead to qi deviation."

Mo Ran thought that he was already quite close to a qi deviation these past few days. Thankfully Chu Wanning decided to put the dual cultivation method at the back of his head for the time being. It did not make Mo Ran feel any better. He needed to do something real fast.

Dinner was postponed for another hour because Mo Ran urgently had to take a quick bath. He wanted to read the "Art of Meditation" during his bath so Chu Wanning agreed to read other manuals while waiting for Mo Ran. After Mo Ran finished taking a bath, the bathtub mysteriously broke into pieces. Chu Wanning was quite disappointed.

"This one has bad quality," Mo Ran commented hastily. "I will buy Wanning a new bathtub tomorrow."

"A pity that it only lasted two days..."

One day. This is already your second bathtub. Tomorrow you will have your third.

"By the way, where is the meditation manual?"

Mo Ran laughed nervously. He pulled out something that looked like a cleaning rag. Upon careful observation, it was a drenched book. Water caused the ink to spread all over the book, turning it into a stack of wet, ink-stained pages.

"Why did you ruin my book??" Chu Wanning asked in disbelief. "This cannot be read anymore!!"

Mo Ran bit into his lip. "I'm sorry, Wanning. It was an accident."

Chu Wanning threw Mo Ran an aggrieved look. "I haven't finished reading it yet..."

"I will buy you a new one, okay? Tomorrow I will bring you a new bathtub and a new meditation manual."

"...Mn."

Mo Ran hugged Chu Wanning's shoulder and dragged him outside to have dinner finally. Chu Wanning's eyes widened and a smile returned to his beautiful face when he saw the bubbling pot. The fragrant smell quickly aroused his appetite, making him hungrier than usual.

"Okay Wanning, this is Gudong Soup. Now that the soup is boiling, we put the ingredients that we want one by one, then after they are cooked, we can eat!" Mo Ran explained while handing Chu Wanning a plate full of his favorite ingredients. "Go ahead, don't be shy!"

"Un!"

Chu Wanning happily put everything on his plate inside the pot, and Mo Ran did too. The latter stirred inside the pot. Chu Wanning waited patiently at the side, watching Mo Ran's expert movement full of admiration.

"What does Wanning want to eat first~?"

"Umm the crab meatballs... And then the bamboo shoots..."

Mo Ran took out the ingredients that Chu Wanning wanted into a plate but he did not give it to him right away.

"These are still hot. Wanning, blow on them before you eat, okay?"

"Okay..."

Chu Wanning picked a crab meatball and blew on it a long time before he took a small bite. His eyes brightened as soon as the taste of tender crab meat filled his mouth.

"Mmm... So yummy~" he happily mumbled.

Mo Ran patted Chu Wanning on the head.

"If you like it, let's cook more."

"Un! Mo Ran is very good at cooking!"

Mo Ran rubbed at Chu Wanning's head fondly. It's not that he was good at cooking since the beginning. He had been learning to cook dishes that his shizun liked for four years. The reason for that was simple. The Jiangnan-style food that Chu Wanning liked was not always available. Chu Wanning disliked eating just any kind of food, so he tended to skip meals when the food was not appetizing to him. This was not going to repeat in this life. Whenever they traveled to a place that did not have Jiangnan-style food, Mo Ran would personally cook for his shizun.

Chu Wanning was too skinny. Mo Ran did not know how much more time Master Huaizui needed to work on Chu Wanning. During these seven days, he needed to properly feed his shizun.

After eating a fulfilling dinner, Chu Wanning quickly became drowsy. His bowl fell from his hands and landed with a soft thud on the ground as he gently fell asleep on Mo Ran's shoulder.

Mo Ran picked Chu Wanning up and carried him to the bedroom. He then tucked his shizun in neatly and pressed a chaste kiss on his forehead.

"Good night, Wanning..."
